Our Friday night was soccer practice as usual. And I could pretend like I hate it, but I love it. Monday's practice was rained out and Thursday's practice for Casen was cancelled ahead of time so I was having soccer withdrawals. I got to help do drills with the boys and I really enjoy it. This season of life is very busy, but I also really love it!
They got to end practice with cupcakes to celebrate one of the boy's birthday.
Saturday morning Casen woke up at 5 am and wouldn't go back to sleep. I turned on cartoons and tried to get more sleep but he was in our room every 15-20 minutes until I gave up at 7. Later I was putting away laundry and found Casen working on a puzzle.
He rarely sits still for very long, but he did the 20-piece puzzle by himself and was pretty proud.
Then it was time to head to soccer games. Cooper's game started at 10 but Casen had his team pictures at 10:15 so I missed most of the game. Therefore I also missed Cooper's first goal! I never expected him to get a goal because he plays defense but apparently he was in the right place at the right time. I was so disappointed I missed it but super excited for him.
Adorable soccer cupcakes this week for the after game snack.
Dragons are now 3-1!
Then it was the Firecrackers turn at 11. Casen did okay, but he just wasn't as into the game as he was the first two weeks. Maybe he was tired from getting up so early.
At one point he took a break with his fans :)
Isn't his team adorable! These guys have a lot of fun together.
I also started a 30 day challenge with some of my family on October 1st. Though I skipped that day so had to double up on Sunday.
My college roommate had two extra tickets to the TCU game Saturday afternoon so Kyle and I went.
Funny story about that- Kyle didn't go to TCU and isn't a big football fan. But Friday morning I told him Jodi might have two tickets and asked if he wanted to go with me or if I should take Cooper or my sister. He was noncommittal, but later that day I got confirmation she had tickets so I sent him a text and he said yes. I was shocked he said yes, but thought it was nice of him to go with me. Friday night he asked me which side we were on and I said I didn't know, but should be in the shade. Then Saturday morning I told him I had to find something black to wear.
Then about an hour before we left this happened
D-I don't want to wear black.
K- why do you have to wear black
D- It's the blackout game so people where black instead of purple
K- why would people wear purple?
D-Because it is TCU.
K- WHAT? We are going to a TCU game? I thought we were going to a Ranger game!?!?!?
D- What? Why would Jodi have two extra tickets to a Ranger game?
K- I don't know!!
Then a few minutes later I was talking to my mom because she was there getting the boys
D- He had no clue we were going to the TCU football game
K- Wait!! It's a football game?!??!?!? I thought it was a baseball game!!
Smack my head!! Biggest miscommunication of the year. Or lack of communication.
I couldn't stop laughing and couldn't believe how confused he was. The funny thing is that I replayed multiple conversations over the last 36 hours and each of them could have applied to football or baseball and therefore could have been the Ranger game.
Kyle did go with me and luckily were in the shade.
I enjoyed catching up with Claire and Jodi. And Claire tweeted this picture and it ended up on the big screen during the game!
While we were at the game the boys got to help Grandaddy haul hay to the barn. I think they liked it :)
Sunday morning I got up early and went to mass. The Tobola kiddos were there so I got to hold Tracen for most of mass and then they had a breakfast afterwards.
Then Melisa and I both needed to go grocery shopping so I let the girls ride in my car.
After the grocery store Kyle and I headed to Granny's to get the boys and have cupcakes to celebrate Babi and Granny's birthday.
Then we took the boys on Grandaddy's mule to check the deer feeders and game cameras.
Here Cooper said 'We are heading into the forrest and I am so excited!!'
Leaves fell inside the mule and Case loved it. He was trying to not lose these two. Unfortunately they were lost, but he handled it well.
On our ride we saw two coyotes, a squirrel, a hawk (with a mouse), 'a vulture', and lots of butterflies.
We got back in the car and ran back to Babi's so Kyle and Grandaddy could look at the pictures. Cooper said 'I made my legos into a coyote.'
When we got to Babi's the boys went straight to the playroom and got dressed up.
These cute cowboys.
That night we had pizza for dinner. Cooper and Kyle were sharing a cheese. Casen and I were going to share pepperoni and black olive. Casen threw a complete fit about his pizza and wanting cheese like Cooper so I took all of the toppings off so it looked like cheese. Well he knew better and was not happy (he had no nap). After a 20 minute cycle of meltdowns and being sent to his room he finally asked to see the box of pizza and said 'that one, with lots!!' It was a piece of the pepperoni and black olive!! He was happy as can be and wanted to push our chairs together and sit right by me.
This stubborn boy wears me out. Good thing he is cute.
That face is trouble!
And then after bath he said 'you lay with me?' Of course I will!
Can't believe it is already October. We have some fun trips planned this month!
