Friday Randoms

I am so excited about next Monday.  My friend Tiffany (who is Cooper's BFF, Aiden's mommy) is going to start working at my company.  We won't work in the same department or even same building but we are both downtown.  I am looking forward to having a lunch buddy!

Tomorrow we are going to the Stock Show and Rodeo grounds with the boys and Kyle's parents.  I am hoping it isn't too cold.
I have been busy cleaning out closets and purging a lot of stuff.  I have been selling some items on our electronic bulletin board at work and have already made about $100. Much easier than a garage sale!

Now for some random pictures

I can't get enough of this chubby little guy.  I have said it before and I will say it again 'I love babies in diapers.' If it wasn't so cold outside I would let him spend all evening like this.  I just love snuggling with that soft baby skin.

And these boys at bath time are the best! I love them smiling at each other.

The other day Cooper tried out MacKenzie's bike.  He couldn't quite figure it out, but he thought it was cool.

We made a trip to the storage unit with some of our stuff and Daddy gave us a ride.  Cooper loved it.

Last Tuesday I came home from work and the boys surprised me with THE BEST cupcakes for my birthday.  They were waiting at the door with one with a lit candle. Cooper helped me blow it out and then claimed it as his own.

Kyle got 3 different flavors and they were all delicious!

Picture with my boys on my birthday.

Last Friday we went to an Italian place for dinner and the boys both loved their food.  Casen had some noodles and bread.  Cooper had bread and lasagna,

Cooper looks like a camo thug to me! Ha!

I still have more pictures but that will have to do for now.  Happy Friday!

7 Month Update

Your 7 month update finally!

No update on your stats but you are definitely growing.

Size 2 diapers because we are finishing them off
6 month, 6-9 month, and 9 month clothes depending on the brand
No shoes

You are still nursing. We reduced your bottles at day-care to 4.5 ounces in hopes to reduce spitting up.
You nurse at 5am, 5:15pm, and 7:15pm.
You get bottles at 8, 11, and 2.

You have done awesome with baby food. You originally didn't like green beans but now you eat those along with all other veggies- squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, corn casserole, and peas.

You like all fruits that we have tried.

You also like puffs
We give you cereal and fruit in the morning. Veggie at lunch. Half fruit and half veggie at dinner.

You dropped the habit of sucking your thumb.  We didn't do anything special just gave you something else to suck on when we saw your thumb in your mouth.

No sign of teeth.  You drool a lot and your gums are swollen some.

You got croup right at Christmas and it was very scary for me.  There were times when you struggled to breath.  Luckily with Uncle Trent's advice we were able to manage it and avoid the ER. We took you to the doctor and they gave you a steroid to help clear it up.

At that appointment your ear looked a little red so the doctor gave you an antibiotic to avoid an ear infection.

We finally got rid of your thrush for good.

You like to give open mouthed kisses. And you love to hug my neck.

When you get excited you scrunch your shoulders up to your neck and smile so big your eyes close.

The spitting up sometimes seems better and sometimes see about the same.  The doctor and I aren't worried because we know you will outgrow it.

Just before Christmas you went through a little bit of separation anxiety when I left you at school. It only lasted 3 days and you haven't cried since.

However you don't like when we leave you in a room by yourself for very long.

This month you learned to play peek a boo with your burp cloth.

You also like to spit bubbles at us and then we go back and forth.  You think it is so funny.

Just before you turned 7 months you started sitting up in the bathtub and took your first real bath with Cooper.  You loved it and couldn't stop watching him.

You have mastered sitting up by yourself.

This picture below is one of my favorites.  It is so sweet and shows your sweet personality.

However you do get mad! Each morning I bring you to our bed to nurse before I get ready for work.  Even though you know you are going to nurse as soon as I lay you down you scream.  I hurry and get in bed and you calm down as soon as you start nursing.  Man you let your temper show.

You are starting to wiggle around the floor more and trying to figure out crawling. Disclaimer- these pictures were taken when you were 7 1/2 months already so they really should be in the next post but I am just leaving them here.

You are starting to poke your butt up in the air like an upside down V and use your hands to push up from your tummy.

Such a big boy all of a sudden!

You look so much like your daddy in this picture below.

Casen, you are growing and changing so fast.  All of sudden you seem like such a big boy.  I am so grateful for the times that I nurse you because I get just hold you and cuddle.  You are such a sweet little guy.  You love your brother so much, but I also think you have figured out how to pick on him and his toys.  I am really trying to be better at soaking up all of these special moments with you because I know you will be 2 before I know it!

We love you so much Casen Andrew!

Pics from my phone

I am in a bit of a bloggin rut.  So I will just share some pictures from my phone.
This sweet boy will be 8 months in a week and I still haven't done his 7 month post.  But I have lots of notes written down and finally took the pictures.

This was from his first time with a sippy cup.

And his first time sitting in a high chair at a restaurant.

At a a doctor appointment to get the rest of his shots.

Cooper helped Nana takes her dogs for a walk.

Casen got this cute moose hat from a friend at school but it is already tight (too small)

New Shoes!

These are the shoes I wore to work today. They have looked like this for more than a year.  And I have been wearing them anyways. Maybe not too much at the end of my pregnancy and maternity leave. But I have been wearing them way longer than I should have.

They are from Nine West and they have lasted about 4 years and I wear them a lot.  But they have seen better days and they had to go.

Most men have to tell their wives not to shop.  My husband however has been begging me to buy new shoes for over a year.  They make a horrible scratching and clinking sound when I walk (luckily at work it is thin carpet so no noise) and they look horrible.  I was actually a little embarrassed to go into the store today wearing them, but I wanted to wear my pants that I normally wear with heels and therefore I need to wear the shoes.  The sales lady probably laughed when I left, but at least it wasn't to my face.

So thanks to a coupon for my birthday and a gift card for Christmas I ran to the store during lunch and I am the proud owner of the shoes shown below.

They were also have a clearance sale and I bought these beauties!

Now I need to buy some new black boots and brown boots that are in the same shape as the first picture! I am out of gift cards but plan to use Christmas and birthday money if I can find some boots I like.

*I was not compensated in any way by Nine West for this post, but if they see it and want to I would love some black or brown boots!

Things I have seen on the web

Here are various things that I have seen or read about online that I wanted to share.

The wrong reason to try for a fourth baby- I love this article! People ask me the same questions because I have two boys and they wonder about us having more.  Even if I knew ahead of time that our 3rd would be a boy I still want a 3rd and a 4th... Ha! I don't know how many kids Kyle and I will have.  We will make that decision together. But I hate that people assume we are always trying for a girl.  Yes if I don't have a girl I will mourn the missed experiences.  I will miss buying pink, trying to style a little girls hair, dance class, picking out a prom dress, and being the mother of the bride.  But I also know that God is going to bless us with what is perfect for us.

Bloombeads- I came across this website through another blog.  They take fresh flower and turn them into jewelry. I saw where they turned funeral flowers into a gorgeous rosary.  This is such a cool idea.

I am dating someone even though I'm married- This is a great article that I saw several times on Facebook.  I think we all need this reminder.

28 Rules for Fathers of Sons- Some of these are repetitive, but this is a great quick read...Kyle you should read this.

17 things boys need from their moms- Then here is a great list for mother's of boys.  I need to remember to go back and read this.

I thought I had more but I guess this is it.

Brothers

Now that Casen is sitting up like a big boy they are getting to take baths together.  Not every night because Casen only takes baths every other day, but they have done it several times now.  Plus we normally put Casen down earlier than Cooper so it isn't as easy to do them together.
I had to crop this picture to get privates out of it but I love how they are smiling at each other.

Them both looking of course ended up blurry

I can't believe how big my baby boy already is!

Both reading their books!

One night Cooper was playing trains and Casen wanted to join.  Cooper didn't want to share, but he let Casen play with Scruff.  That wasn't enough for Casen. Every time Cooper took the train by Casen, Casen would try to grab it.

I don't think Scruff was a very good chew toy and Cooper would say 'No Casen! Don't chew on Scruff!'

Notice Casen is chewing but also watching Cooper's train coming.

And ready to snatch it!

The 'don't touch that Casen', 'that's mine Casen', or 'Casen is touching me' has already started!

Right now it is kinda cute...not sure how long I will think that though.
