34 Weeks!
Size of baby: Cooper should now be about 4 3/4 lbs which is compared to a cantaloupe and about 18 inches long.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 27 lbs. Well my weight has caught up to me! I gained 2 lbs since last week : )
Maternity Clothes: I am sooo tired of my maternity clothes. I wear the same things over and over.
Gender: Boy!
Movement: I love feeling him move all the time and luckily he doesn't hang out under my ribs because I know some women deal with a lot of pain from that.
Sleep: I hate sleep right now. I am tired and want to sleep but I don't sleep very well. Some nights are better than others and last night was not a good night. It could have something to do with letting sweet Riley sleep in the bed because she is a snuggle buddy and has to be right next to me which makes it hard to switch sides without smushing her!
What I miss: sleeping on my back and bending over easily.
Cravings: Still love sweets and drinking more water.
Symptoms: The swelling is officially here and probably for good this time. My feet have swelled every day starting with last Friday. The right foot seems to be worse than the left and boy do they look pitiful. I will share a picture tomorrow!
Best Moment this week: Last Friday I had my 2 weeks checkup at 33 1/2 weeks. I got to hear Cooper's heartbeat (144) and everything sounded great. My blood pressure is still fine and they measured my bump to see if I am still measuring ahead. I measured 33 weeks which is right on track. That meant no sonogram which was disappointing but I am also glad that Cooper is back on track. I got back to the doctor on June 8th.
Worst Moment this week: Probably the swelling and realizing that I am getting to the point where I will have to slow down.
Other news: I think the bookshelf is getting better but I am still not convinced that it is fully dry. Like my mom said, it is good we did it early so we have time to just let it dry and see what happens.

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookie Cups!
What do people think?
I recently thought about what people think when they see me at church with my 7 month pregnant belly and my sister sitting next to me with her 8 month pregnant belly. Do people think "aww that is cute" or "there must be something in their water" or "they are so lucky."
I do feel so lucky to be 33 1/2 weeks pregnant with our baby. I feel blessed that we are going to become parents in about 7 weeks. But other people don't know our story. They don't know that we tried for almost a year, suffered many months of irregular cycles, and endured a miscarriage. People don't know our story.
I remember as soon as I got baby fever it seemed like everyone around me was pregnant or carrying a baby. I thought there must be something in the water. It made me want a baby that much more. And every month that I tried to get pregnant and saw a negative I cried. I was jealous of those women that were pregnant or holding their little babies. I was jealous that it was so easy for them and so hard for us. It hurt my heart to see those women everywhere. But the truth is, I didn't know their story.
I didn't know what they went through to get to that point. I didn't know if the pregnancy was unplanned, if it was the first month they tried, if it took years, what they went through medically to get pregnant, how many losses they went through, or how many times they cried after seeing other pregnant women.
This week I know 5 people that were dealing with getting pregnant and fertility. Three are pregnant and two are not, but they all have very different stories. If you passed them on the street with a baby bump or without, you don't know their story.
The first one is pregnant with her first and expecting in early January, but no one knows she spent six months trying while dealing with irregular cycles and many negative pregnancy tests. No one knows her story.
The second one is pregnant with her second baby, but no one knows that. She suffered a miscarriage in 2010 and would have been due a couple of weeks after me. When she is pregnant people will ask her if this is her first and she will struggle with how to answer. No one knows the pain and suffering she felt before becoming pregnant with this second baby. No one knows her story.
The third has been trying for over a year and this was her first month to try a medicated cycle. She was very hopeful that this medicine would do the trick. She found out she is not pregnant. It is one more month of negatives, not having symptoms, not having a bump, and not anticipating the arrival of her little one. When people pass her on the street they can't tell the pain she endures each month. No one knows her story.
The fourth has been trying for over 2 years and has dealt with various infertility issues in that time. They have tried various unsuccessful treatments and struggled with what to do next. I am not sure what steps they took in the past few months, but she announced that she is in fact 12.5 weeks pregnant. She finally got to see a positive pregnancy test and has a baby bump that she has wanted for so long. No one knows her story.
The fifth has been trying for years and suffers from various things that cause infertility. They have been trying for over 3 years. She has endured all kinds of things in those 3 years and has tried several treatments. Unfortunately she can't afford many of the treatments, but this month her doctor gave her a shot at a free/discounted treatment. She found out she is not pregnant. She must now continue to save thousands of dollars for future treatments or come to terms with possibly never being a mother. But once again when people see her, no one knows her story.
I connect with these women so much. My heart is full of so many different emotions for each of them. I have experience some of their pain. I realize that I know some of their story, but I will truly never know their whole story. I know that their story is only theirs and no one can truly understand. When I see people on the street I still wonder what their story is. Sometimes I am still jealous for various reasons, but I try to remember that no one knows their story.

Little of this and a little of that...
Anyway the point of this is that I found out this week that my company is sponsoring a lunch for all of the Junior Achievement volunteers as a thank you. It is at a local restaurant that is VERY yummy and expensive so I have only eaten their twice! I can't wait to eat at the Reata next Thursday!
Yesterday after work Kyle and I went and toured the hospital that I will deliver at. There were about 15 people in the tour so it was kind of a lot but it went well. I really like the hospital and all of the amenities. It is new, clean, and roomy. Kyle and I were able to get a good idea of how things will go down the day Cooper is born assuming that it is a smooth delivery.
I have always had a feeling that I would have to have a c-section with my babies. Maybe because my mom did, but also a gut feeling. I had come to terms with c-section and just expected it. Well lately I am really hoping that I don't have to have a c-section. It just scares me! There are pros and cons to both types of delivery and I try not to think about it for now. I just try to trust that it will workout and we will do whatever is best for Cooper.
In case I haven't told you lately, I can't wait for Cooper to get here!! I can't wait to see his little face and smell his sweet baby smell!
And of course as I said yesterday, I am very anxious for my doctor's appointment tomorrow. It isn't until tomorrow afternoon so I know it is going to be a long day. I am just so eager to get a full update on Cooper. I love getting to hear is heartbeat, find out how I am measuring, schedule my next appointment, and of course find out if I am going to get another sonogram.
Happy Thursday! Way to go Mavs on their win! I am not a basketball fan, but I am still excited for them and for all of their fans who have been waiting for this. I remember how it felt last year with the Rangers! Speaking of, way to go Rangers for winning their game yesterday also!

Not much to talk about....
We came up with a cute idea for a hamper for Cooper's room and then the store we ordered it from said they can no longer get it. They may be able to get them down the road, but for now we are just going to get our money back and use a basket for his clothes. Kinda stinks because we liked our original idea.
I am EXTREMELY nauseous this morning and couldn't eat all of my breakfast. I hope I don't get sick in my cube, but I have my trash can close by just in case. (that is the other half of my uneaten bagel in the trash!)

Weekend Recap
Saturday we slept in and then I went to my last baby shower thrown by Kyle's family and our friend Jen. The shower was so cute and fun. We played a little game, they had adorable decorations, and the food was yummy!! I will share pictures once I have a chance to download them and organize them. I got so many wonderful gifts and a lot of cute Texas Rangers gear!
After the shower we went to a low key dinner with Kyle's family at McAllister's. None of us had huge appetites so it was just right. Kyle and I went back to his parents house and we watched the Rangers play while playing 2 quick games of Joker.
Sunday Melisa and I went to church and then picked up Whataburger for lunch. I LOVE Whataburger! After lunch Kyle continued to work in the yard and Melisa and I organized my last load of gifts. After going through everything we gathered up duplicates and returns and headed to Target and BRU. I also purchased the remaining must have items off of my registry. We are officially ready for Cooper to come whenever he is ready!
One bump in the road that I mentioned in yesterday's blog was the issue with the bookcase and table. After putting some items on the shelves we realized that it had a sticky feel and things were sticking to it. We quickly removed everything and evaluated the situation. Kyle and I were both very frustrated the rest of the day. We just couldn't stop thinking about all of the hard work, time, and thought we put into these pieces.
I called Valspar yesterday and they think it just need to set longer. They said to give it another week and reevaluate. That isn't the answer I wanted to hear. I wanted a quick fix. But of course I would rather give it more time then have to sand it down and start over. My sister talked to my BIL John about it (he enjoys building things and working with wood when he has time) and he believes it has to do with how humid Texas is. It is likely that the first coat of sealer wasn't completely dried and now the second coat isn't either. He agrees that it likely just needs more time. Kyle and I are really hoping time is all it needs.
I don't mind waiting except I was so excited to be pretty much done with the nursery that I am a little disappointed. The only things we have left are to hand a couple of things on the wall, setup the items on the bookcase and table, and hang curtains. I forgot about curtains a little so I am going to start looking for those and see what I like. I am so anxious to share pictures but I don't want to share them half done.
Overall it was such a nice weekend, but boy were we tired!
**********
I would also like to recognize my wonderful husband. Kyle is a very hard worker and I love that about him. Yesterday he received an award at work for his hard work. He acts like it is no big deal, but I am excited for him. I am glad that he was recognized for all he does. I admire Kyle's hard work and I hope he passes that same work ethic to Cooper and all of our future kids.
Kyle I am proud of you and I love you!!

33 Weeks and counting
Size of baby: Cooper should weigh a little over 4lbs and be over 17 inches long. My baby info says that "he is rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening" GOOD!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 24 lbs. I ate a lot of brownies last week so I am surprised it isn't more.
Maternity Clothes: Blah, I hate clothes right now!
Gender: Boy!
Movement: A lot of movement!
Sleep: Blah, I sleep like poo.
What I miss: sleeping on my back
Cravings: Still loving sweets. This past week I craved Knorr brand Chicken Rice. I ate it all the time growing up and I made it twice this week to eat. Yummy and Easy!
Symptoms: a little swelling yesterday in my feet, some lower back pain, crappy sleeping.
Best Moment this week: My 2 awesome baby showers. Everyone was so generous. We got so many things that I can't even list it all. We got lots of diapers which will be so nice to have and not have to buy for a while. We also got a lot of cute clothes!
Worst Moment this week: I had a lot of stress going on this past week. I was frustrated and it was just tough. Glad it is over.
Other news: I would like to especially thank my sister Melisa. She has been in nesting mode lately in her pregnancy and has been a huge help to us. She came over Thursday and spent over 2 hours helping my organize the gifts from my work shower. Then she came over again on Sunday and helped organize the stuff from my last shower and we returned duplicates along with buying the last things on our registry. She was amazing with everything and there is no way I would have got it all done with out her.
We have a huge hiccup in our bookcase and table for the nursery. After we moved it to the nursery and started putting things on it we realized that the sealer we used made the furniture sticky and is causing everything to stick to it. We are VERY frustrated right now and not sure what we are going to do. We really don't want to sand it all down and figure something out, but that might be the only option. I am going to call Valspar paint company today because we used all of their products and followed their to-do list for the project. Hopefully they can help us out because this really sucks.

What going on in your world...
It actually isn't lonesome in ours, but it has been very busy and stressful!
Monday was my dad's 50th birthday and I just realized that I meant to do a blog about him and I forgot! Ugh! Pregnancy brain!! I enjoyed lunch and chatting with my friend Amy. We both work near downtown so we try to meet up for lunch one every week or two! That night we were supposed to go to our 3rd childbirth class, but Kyle and I weren't feeling up to it so we skipped it.
Tuesday after work I rushed home to make dinner and then Christal came over to do our button project. (expect pictures next week of the final product once I have a chance to go to Hobby Lobby and pick out a frame!
Wednesday just before lunch I got a scary phone call from my sister who is 36 weeks pregnant. Melisa fell while on a field trip with her students and she needed me to take her to the hospital and make sure she was okay. They observed her in L&D and both she and MacKenzie are fine. It was a very scary moment, but I am so thankful that I was close to be able to help and and be with her. I am also thankful for my flexible company and boss that just let me leave at the drop of a hat.
After work Kyle and I went to dinner with David and Jen at our favorite local Mexican place. I ordered the nachos and Kyle ordered the special and our total before tips was like $14.50! That included two drinks! It was awesome! It was a fun dinner plus David helped Kyle move the bookcase into Cooper's room. (I am almost ready to share pictures, but it will probably be next week!)
Today I have my baby shower at work. I am so excited! A couple of my coworkers are hosting it and I know that have worked hard planning it. Plus I can't wait to see what we get for Cooper! My mom and Melisa are coming to the shower so that adds more fun. Most of my coworkers have never met my mom because she wasn't able to make it to my wedding shower at work (almost 4 years ago!) or Melisa. I talk about my family a lot so it will be nice for them to put a face to the name and also see Melisa pregnant.
I plan to spend tonight organizing the nursery because I still haven't really done it from the first shower and I want to get things figured out before we have another shower on Saturday! Yep a 3rd shower and again I can't wait!

Busy Evening

Excuse the picture quality. I am considering saving for a nice camera for Christmas/birthday if I can wait that long. I only want to get a nice camera if I promise to take more picture and get good use out of it. But I have a feeling I will be taking a lot more pictures once Cooper is here!
Here are some other sneak peeks of things for the nursery that I have been working on or found lately.
I am considering buying another frame like this (from my guest bathroom) for my button project or I may go with a simpler frame. I haven't decided for sure yet.

Here are some letters I have been painting for Cooper's wall.
Here is a pic of the table that Kyle painted for Cooper's nursery. LOVE IT!!
Here is a cute basket I found on sale at Joann's for $10! I am planning to use it on the changing table for diapers, wipes, and lotions.
Kyle finished the bookcase and table last night and now they are just drying. We are both so glad to finally have it done and are very happy with how they turned out. I am hoping they will be ready to move into the nursery tonight and we can convince David to help Kyle move it in. Then I can really put the finishing touches on the room.
- hang things on walls (quilt, letters, possibly mirror)
- put crib bedding together (waiting to buy the mattress on Sunday after the showers if we don't get it as a gift)
- fill shelves with various things I have collected
- order other decor items for nursery depending on how much space I have
- wash clothes and blankets
- put together bassinet, bouncer and other baby items
- pack hospital bags
I am sure there are more things, but that is what I have for now. The last 2 we probably won't do for another couple of weeks.
I am so excited for the nursery to be done. I think it is really coming together!!

Weekend Recap
Saturday after Kyle got off work we went to dinner with his family at Cracker Barrel. I ordered their Saturday special of chicken and rice that was delicious! Plus I had the hash brown casserole, green beans, and of course cornbread. I love their food!! We went home and had another low key night since Kyle had worked all day.
Sunday I got up early and went to church with my sister. Somehow I was having an off morning and didn't look at the clock when I was ready. I ended up at church 30 minutes early! Oops! After church I ran to Kohls because I was in the mood to shop and had an old gift card for their also. I have been on the hunt for something for Cooper to wear to a family wedding in August. I came across these 3 outfits that I loved!

Kyle mowed the yard and put a coat of sealer on the bookcase while I was out. When I got home we headed to try a burger place called Five Guys and then went to see if we could find coordinating outfits for the wedding. I would like an orange or tan dress. Possibly brown but I don't want to look too fall. We also went to Cavenders to see if we could find Kyle a shirt but everything was short sleeves and Kyle would prefer long sleeves. So we will wait until it is closer to the wedding and hopefully they will already have their fall stuff out with long sleeves.
Obviously you can tell that I am in the mood for shopping. I can't really shop for myself because I am in the homestretch of the pregnancy. I can't buy stuff for Cooper because we still have 2 more showers. So instead I am planning way far ahead and shopping for our first set of coordinating outfits! So fun!!
And I will leave you with some pictures we took last night
Here I am looking huge at 32 weeks! This is the first time I thought I looked huge maybe it is the shadow : )

I thought maybe Kyle needed to zoom out so I didn't look so big and of course little Miss Riley had to jump in the picture.

I don't think zooming out helped. And then Ranger put on a show playing with his snowman toy that he likes to sling around the house.
Then Kyle was feeling left out and decided to make fun of my bump pictures. Here is Kyle with his baby bump!
Haha!! I love my little family! I can't wait for their to be 5 of us!

32 Weeks!!!!!!!!
Size of baby: Cooper is about 3.75lbs and compared to large jicama. Cooper is a little under 17 inches. I should gain about a pound a week and Cooper will gain about 1/2 a pound each week for the last couple of weeks.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 23 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: mostly maternity because it is so much more comfortable. I am now getting to the point where I feel like I am wearing the same things over and over. Oh well!
Gender: I can't wait until our little boy gets here!!
Movement: I can tell that Cooper is bigger because I feel him all the time now. It seems like I am feeling him throughout the entire day, but I am still lucky that he doesn't keep me up at night with his moving. Plus I love feeling him move!
Sleep: I hate how I am sleeping right now. I want to sleep on my back so darn bad. I hate tossing from hip to hip. 8 more weeks of this!!
What I miss: sleeping on my back and getting up and down without bracing myself.
Cravings: Still loving my sweets. Other than that I have random cravings that sound good, but nothing consistent. I am much more thirsty lately. I did make brownies last night and Kyle convinced me to put icing on them. Yes we plan on eating the whole pan ourselves : )
Symptoms: crappy sleep and peeing in the night. A little bit of growing pains. Luckily I have still avoided heartburn and my feet didn't swell this week. Maybe last week was a fluke!
Best Moment this week: My doctor appt last Wednesday. I got to hear his heartbeat. The doctor did let me know that my bump is measuring ahead by 3 weeks. My next appointment is May 27th and if he is still measuring big at that appointment then we will have a sonogram to see how big he actually is. I am not sure if we would do the sonogram that day or have to schedule it for another day. I don't like the idea of Cooper being a huge baby, but I wouldn't mind having the sonogram and seeing him again. If he is a big baby the doctor may want to discuss inducing me earlier than my due date. We will find out in 2 weeks I guess.
Worst Moment this week: Friday morning I woke up with some light bleeding. I am normally an over analyzer, but this time I just wasn't worried. I was very calm and matter of fact about it. Once I felt Cooper moving all around I trusted that things were okay and just wanted to go to the doctor to make sure. I didn't want to take it for granted and I knew that all of us would feel better if we knew for sure things were okay. Sure enough I heard Cooper's heartbeat again, still measured 3 weeks ahead, and she did a physical exam to confirm that I am not progressing. Cooper is planning to stay put for a while which is just perfect!
Other news: Last Tuesday I enrolled Cooper in day-care. I am so excited about the place we chose and I am also excited to have that knocked off the list. This week I need to decide on a pediatrician. I have it narrowed down to two I think. I just need to make sure they are taking new patients and my insurance.

Little Scare
I was about to leave for work when I went to pee and noticed a little bleeding. There wasn't a lot but it was definitely there.
I called Kyle because he had just left 5 minutes before. I let him know that I wasn't panicking, but did want to make sure things were all right. I had some discomfort the evening before so that was also on my radar.
I hadn't felt Cooper yet this morning so I decided to eat a granola bar and rest for a little bit in bed. If he started to move then I would wait until my doctor's office opened and find out what they thought I should do. If I didn't feel him after eating then I would head to the hospital and not wait on the doctor's office. This was at 6:20 in the morning and the dr doesn't open until 8.
I ate the granola bar and still no luck so I called Kyle back and decided to call the on call nurse at my dr office instead of waiting until they opened. In the mean time I decided to drink a dr. pepper and sure enough Cooper perked right up. There was no denying that he was alive and kicking. He always reacts to soda or sweet tea!
The on call called me back and said she didn't think there was reason to go to the hospital, but she would let my dr know what is going on when she got in and see what she wanted me to do.
At 9:30 I still hadn't heard from my doctor so I called and they told me that it was probably just some irritation, but I could come in and be looked at by the midwife if I wanted to. I decided that for my sanity, Kyle's and our family's I better go in and make sure things are okay.
They got me in quickly and did a physical exam. My cervix is still closed and no progress. Cooper is staying put for now. She didn't see anything else that was concerning and said that the bleeding was probably from stretching or irritation.
She then checked his heartbeat which was in the 130s and great. She also measured me and once again said I am measuring 34 weeks. I didn't tell her ahead of time that my doctor just checked 2 days ago bc I wanted to see if their measurements matched up. Yep they sure did!
She said that she measured about 2 weeks ahead with her second one and she was an 8 pound baby, but she had no problems with delivery. I hope I am that lucky.
I am glad that Cooper is okay and that my body is still planning to cook him a little longer.

This week so far
Tuesday- I officially signed Cooper up for day-care. I am so excited that we found one we like and feel comfortable with. The people are so sweet and as soon as I walked in she recognized me and said that she was glad I was back. I filled out the registration form and paid our deposit. Now we will just call once he gets here and we know our actual start date. I am so happy to check that off of our to-do list!
Wednesday- I had my 31 week check-up. According to her scale I only gained 1 lb in the 2 weeks and she didn't say anything about it. My blood pressure and Cooper's heart rate were good. Then she measured Cooper and....he is measuring 34 weeks! Well my bump is measuring 34 weeks. This really surprised me because I don't feel like my bump has changed much in 2 weeks and I have only gained 2 lbs. However I have noticed Cooper is a lot more active which probably means he is bigger too.
The doctor said that at my next appointment if I am still measuring ahead we will do a sonogram to see how big he actually is. It is possible that because I am so short waisted Cooper has nowhere to go but out and that is why my bump is big. It is also possibly that he has a lot of fluid in there with him and again creates a bigger bump and me measure ahead. And of course it is also very possibly that Cooper takes after his daddy (who was 8 1/2lbs) and is going to be a big boy.
Measuring big is nothing to be concerned with at this time. However, they don't want Cooper to get too big so if this continues it is possible they would induce me before 40 weeks. I am not worried, but I am anxious for the next appointment to see where I am. If anything we would get a chance to see our Cooper again in a sonogram!
Last night Kyle and I tried a new recipe that I got from a blog and we both really liked it. I thought I would share it here with y'all.

2 more months!!
Also that means only 1 month until MacKenzie's due date!!
Pictures and Pissed
Here is a picture of my glider completed. My granny did an awesome job!!
Can of beanee weenes courtesy of my MIL! She had this waiting for me when I saw them on Saturday! Here are is a picture of the gorgeous balloon flowers in our yard. This is our second year to have them. Last year they didn't do great because of the big shrub behind them, but this year they look awesome. I just love seeing them every day when I come home. Such a unique color! Plus they are perennials so that is great!

Here is a nice up close picture of what they look like!

I can't wait for these guys to start blooming! These are garden phlox and they spread naturally (also perennials). They started off as 3 small plants 2 years ago and now look how many we have. I can't wait for that whole area to be full of them in 2-3 years. I will share another picture once they are in full bloom.

Besides sharing these fun pictures I am in a bad mood today. I feel pretty angry.
Yesterday she had a doctor appointment to get to hear the heartbeat for the first time and unfortunately there was no heartbeat. She now has to go off all of her medications and just wait for her body to naturally miscarry their baby. I am now devastated for her. I have been through a miscarriage and I know how hard it is to go through, but I seriously can't imagine how she feels. She has gone through so much mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. And now she will go through so much more as she waits for her body to realize it is no longer pregnant.

Weekend Recap
That night we went to Hoffbrau for dinner with David and Jen. I love their sweet tea and ordered my recent favorite chicken fried steak! Yummy. Afterwards we played games at our house until after midnight while watching the Mavs with game 3.
Saturday Kyle and I slept until 10 which was awesome!!! It felt so stinking good! Then we ran errands and Kyle worked on the bookcase for Cooper's room. Because we slept late it ended up being a very rushed Saturday afternoon, but at the same time it was such a nice day together.
Saturday night we went to Red Lobster with Kyle's family and then went back to his parents house to play games and visit.
Sunday morning Kyle worked on the table for Cooper's room and I started preparing lunch. My mom, dad, and granny came over for lunch on Mother's day. Melisa also came over and we enjoyed looking at all of our baby stuff for Cooper and then we headed over to Melisa's to see all of MacKenzie's baby stuff. We played cards and watched the Mavs win game 4 which was a very sad game for the Lakers.
Sunday evening I relaxed watching Gilmore Girls from my netflix. It was nice to put my feet up and just chill. As I mentioned in my previous post Kyle gave me a super cute onesie that said "Mommy's Guacamole Buddy" for my pre-Mother's day. I can't wait until Cooper is here for my first Mother's Day.

31 Weeks!
Hardest Moment this week: Friday night I got a charlie horse in each leg. Man those things hurt like crazy!! My legs were sore the next day. I bought bananas to eat and hopefully the potassium will keep those from happening again.
Last but certainly not least is a picture of the sweet Mother's Day gift I got from Kyle and Cooper. I just love this sweet onesie!!

TGIF!
I don't have much to talk about today so I am just going to ramble.
Kyle and I visited our second day-care on Wednesday. Here is our review of CL.
- Furthest of the 5 we are considering from our house and we have to cross 2 railroad tracks to get there. That doesn't seem like a big deal but these tracks are notorious for having trains and getting stuck. In fact when we were looking at this area we chose to avoid certain developments because of those tracks. I am hoping that we will be lucky and our commute times aren't a high traffic time for trains. (ranks 5 of 5 on distance)
- It is higher than we would like to spend but we could make do. (ranks 4 of 5 on expense)
- No stackable cribs. I don't remember if I went into detail about the first day-care we visited but they do have stackable cribs and they bothered me. (ranks 1 of 2- I don't yet know where the other 3 stand on stackable cribs)
- Security at front door to get into building and also a computer that we have to type in a password for Cooper to be picked up or dropped off. I love this added security measures (1 of 2 for same reasons above)
- Teacher was very sweet and had a lot of experience. We also met one of the two assistants in the room and she was very sweet. (1 of 2 for same reasons above)
- Video cameras in room that the parents can monitor from the internet for a monthly fee. At this place you get the first 4 weeks for free and then it is $25 a month after that. Once we feel comfortable we probably won't pay for this monthly. (1 of 2)
- All of the staff in the office seemed nice and friendly. The place seemed clean. Overall this is our top choice of the two we have seen.

Funny thing- This place gave us a copy of their sample menu because all meals are provided (which is standard for these places). I was reading through things like chicken sandwich, ravioli, chicken nuggets, and then I read Beanie Wienie!!!!
What the heck is a beanie wienie? Which is exactly what I said to Kyle with a disgusted face and gagging noise.
He laughed and said in a shocked voice "you don't know what beanie wienie is?"
Me still gagging and disgusted said "Ugh, no or I wouldn't be asking you"
Kyle proceeded to tell me that it was in a can like spaghetti O's (which I despise!!!) and it is baked beans and chopped up hot dog wieners.
OMG you should have seen my face! #1 I don't like hotdogs unless they are chili cheese dogs. #2 I HATE baked beans!!
Kyle was still in shock that I had never heard of beanie wienies and I was in shock imagining Cooper eating beanie wienies. I explained to Kyle that none of us girls like baked beans because my dad didn't eat baked beans and therefore my mom didn't make baked beans.
I concluded with "I am sending a sandwich with Cooper on beanie wienie day!!"

After thinking about this more I realized there were quite a few items on the menu that I don't like, but that probably isn't a bad thing. It is good for Cooper to get exposed to other types of food that I don't make at home. There are a lot of things that my dad didn't like so mom didn't make so us three girls don't eat/like. As time has passed I have tried some of those things and may have discovered differently but in most cases I agreed with my dad and therefore don't eat them to this day. I can't help but wonder if I would feel differently if I had been exposed to them as a kid. Thanks a lot dad : )
A few of the things I don't like (the ones with the star are because of my dad)
- Baked Beans*
- Broccoli*
- Cauliflower*
- Cooked Fruit* (in pies, cobblers, cakes, etc) This seems to be the biggest one that boggles people. I have tried stuff multiple times and I just can't do it!
- Shrimp (it is a texture thing)
- Mustard- I can't stand the smell of this. I hated making sandwiches for the kids I babysat and it would get on my finger and then the smells just lingers. Yuck!
- Mayo
- fruit in my salad- I just want cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers, maybe bacon or croutons but not necessary
- Runny eggs*-Kyle loves fried eggs that ooze on his food! I hate that oozie stuff. I don't even want my scrambled eggs moist. They should be cooked so well they are dry!
- BBQ potato chips
- Honey
- Bologna
This turned into a much longer blog than I anticipated. Oops!

Favorite Things

This is an adorable winter set for Cooper that has wind pants from my Aunt Sherry! I love wind pants on boys (both grown up boys and little boys!)
This is an adorable accessory set that I love!! I got one from Melisa and one from Annelise! I was going to take one back but I will probably keep them both because I am sure they will be well loved or broken.
Here is an adorable onesie that I got from my aunts and cousins group gift. I seriously love this!! I think Kyle needs a matching one because he is often times begging me to turn off the tv so he can go to bed. My aunts also gifted us our bassinet for our bedroom however when I tried to put the picture in here it wouldn't work. I love the bassinet and can't wait to use it.
These adorable pants are part of a set. I think the paw print on the butt is adorable!
My mom bought these adorable blue jean diapers for decoration. She sent some home with us and told us that she has a box for us also. Kyle thought these were pretty cool.
My mom had this adorable onesie and burp cloth made for Cooper. Aren't they great?!? I can't wait to see Cooper wear his onesie this coming deer season!
Sandi Tobola (Melisa's MIL) gave us these cute personalized burp cloths. And of course because she knows I love the Rangers as much as Trent she had that one made! I am going to be afraid to use them and get them messed up.
My mom also found these adorable boots for Cooper. They were part of the barnyard decorations as well! I can't wait for Cooper to get here so we can play dress up!

My mom is on a kick of having these personalized or specially made for the babies and here is another cute gift. I love this kick she is on because I too love homemade gifts that are special like this!Wednesday, May 4, 2011
Random stuff!
- I am in LOVE with Nestle crunch bars! I got a bag of the miniature ones on sale for 99 cents after Easter and seriously they are the best! I also got a free hershey bar at work and I devoured it. So maybe it is just chocolate in general!!!
- Kyle and I attended our first childbirth class on Monday night. Kyle suggested that we pretend he was mute for the class so he didn't have to talk and participate. After I laughed hysterically I told him no because I don't know sign language and he said "I can hear, I just can't talk. I will write everything on paper!" He had thought his plan through : ) Unfortunately I agree with Kyle that the first class was a waste of time. I did however enjoy the relaxation and breathing because Kyle had to massage me during it. Now that I know he knows how to give a massage I am going to expect them all of the time!! We have 3 more classes and are already considering skipping the last class because it is mostly class presentations (yes, each couple has to present on a different topic) and a tour of the hospital. We can schedule a tour separate from the class.
- Something about summer and the weather getting warmer makes me want a margarita really bad. The idea of a cold frozen, fruity drink sounds delicious. Kyle and I don't even drink very often but the past couple of months I have been wanting to drink. I think it is just because I know that I can't. 68ish days and I can have one of course at that point I probably won't want it anymore. I will just want to sleep.
- I told Kyle last night that I wished we could cut a hole in our bed where my tummy is so that I could lay on my tummy to sleep. I miss sleeping on my tummy.
- Lately people ask how I am feeling or say "are you miserable yet?" Honestly I am not. I love this part of my pregnancy. The first part of my pregnancy I was miserably sick and I struggled with enjoying my pregnancy. Now this feels easy and I love this part. I have been lucky and not dealt with heartburn, major swelling, or back pain. My only complaint is not sleeping well and peeing in the middle of the night but I figure this is all just prepping me to be up with Cooper!
- Lastly I am trying to decide on a Baptism outfit for Cooper. He will be baptized in August with his cousin MacKenzie. I am having a hard time finding something I like. I know it is still early to worry about this and I have plenty of other things to worry about, but I am a multi-tasker and am trying to work on several things on my list. Plus once Cooper is here I am going to be so busy that August will come quick. Here are a couple of options that I am considering. I would love to know what you think!
This one is from etsy. It is very basic and the best part is the tie is removable. Sorry I am just not a fan of the tie.
This is from etsy as well. It is a simple jon jon. I like the modern look of it. Not sure if I could have this embroidered with a cross or not. I am hesitant to do a monogram because then it can't be passed down with our other boys or Cooper's future kids.
This last one is also from etsy and I would also consider doing just a cross instead of the monogram.Tuesday, May 3, 2011
Weekend Recap
Friday Kyle and I cleaned and prepped for the painting project on Saturday.
Saturday morning we slept in a little bit and then Kyle's parents came over to paint the nursery. It only took Larry and Kyle about 2 hours to do the nursery and then Kyle put the first coat on the bookcase and end table for the nursery. Susan and I ran errands and supervised. The nursery turned out great!

Saturday night we went to Melisa and Trent's couples baby shower. My mom, dad, Angela, and Annelise were also there so it was fun to hangout with them. And of course Annelise entertained us as usual. The best part was when Annelise asked her "Unc Ky" to hold her while she had cheeto hands! They had a very nice shower and got some really cute things!
Sunday I rode to Ennis with Kyle's mom and grandmother for our first shower. It was a joint shower with Melisa that was hosted by my Angela and my girl cousins. My mom and Angela did great on the decorations! And my aunts helped with the food. I thought the meal was delicious!
Here is the adorable sign in table. They found the barn pinata and had bandana print paper for the invitations and sing-in.
Here I am holding up the quilt that my mom made years ago (1998). She had cross-stitched one for each of us girls for our kids. I haven't seen mine since way back when so I couldn't wait to see it. I am considering hanging it on the wall in the nursery if I can find the right spot.
Here is a picture of Melisa and I with about a third of the the gifts. We got so much!! Checkout the adorable balloons. One is a tractor and the other are cow print balloons. The tractor is in our house now!
My cousin Mary helped write down the gifts and my mother-in-law is on the right. My mom danced between Melisa and I trying to see everything we got. It didn't work very well so she is coming up this weekend to see everything!!
Here is my mom trying to keep up! Isn't she adorable!! She can't wait to get two more grandbabies!!
This is the adorable clothes line they put together. The diapers are blue jean diapers and Kyle thought they were pretty cool! My mom also had cute boots for each of the babies on the line along with some adorable personalized burp cloths and onesies. I loved this!!
