I had a wonderful eventful 25Th birthday!
I only worked a half day and Kyle did the same so we were home by 11:30. We grabbed lunch at Chickfila where I got nuggets and a vanilla milkshake. I absolutely love their milkshakes. Then as we were leaving we saw David Funderburk in line at Chickfila which was exciting. I love running into people around town that I know. It makes me feel like I am in a small town like Ennis. (Several months ago I went to Braums to get Kyle and I ice cream and Melisa and Trent were inside eating. So Fun!!)
Earlier in the day a guy I work with asked what I was going to do when I got off and I said "Take a nap, that makes me sound old doesn't it?" Well sure enough after we got home from lunch and errands I decided to lay down for a minute then I told Kyle to put the dogs on the bed with me (which is a treat because they aren't allowed on the bed anymore). Next thing I know the dogs barking at Kyle who was working outside in the Jeep. The dogs and I had indulged in an hour and a half nap!! Awesome!
Then we met Melisa, Trent, David and Jen for Happy Hour at Eagle's Nest. More fun!
David, Jen, Brandon, Kyle and I all rode together to Riscky's in the Stockyards for dinner and Katherine met us there. Just as I started eating my meal my chest started hurting. I tried to eat some french fries and drink my tea and margarita but it didn't seem to go away. It seemed to be getting worse and it kinda freaked me out. We thought it might be heartburn but I have had that before and this was a lot worse. Maybe a food allergy, but I hadn't tried anything new. After 20 more minutes it was hurting bad enough that I thought I might need to go to the hospital. It sounds super dramatic and I felt stupid for thinking I needed to go to the ER but I was really uncomfortable. So we joked about going to the hospital for my 25Th birthday and headed to the car. Jen talked to a nurse she knows and she suggested that I may have a gas bubble in my stomach that is putting pressure on my chest and feels like really bad heart burn. She suggested we grab some TUMS to see if that makes it feel better and I was all for avoiding the hospital (and hospital bills!!). Luckily there was a Walgreen's right next to Billy Bob's so after 2 TUMS I was feeling much better. Within 20 minutes the pain was completely gone. Really bad heart burn, not a heart attack!!
Since I was feeling better we decided to walk around the Stockyards which included me riding a mechanical bull. I did pretty good (staying on but it didn't look that great) until the operator decided to make the bull shake me off. So of course I hit the mat and on the way down the bulls but hit me in the back of the head. Plenty more laughs came from that! Now I have a concussion!
We laugh that it was a pretty fun birthday for a heart attack and a concussion! I really did have a great birthday that I will never forget!

Preparing for Parenthood (beware it is a poop story)
Overall Ranger and Riley (The Team or Mommy's Team) are very well behaved. They rarely have accidents and when it does happen it is usually at Grandaddy and Babi's house because they don't have a backyard and they get out of routine.
Well yesterday was one of those days where they got out of routine. Tuesday morning Kyle and I each took Riley out twice and she just would not poop so we had to leave for work without her pooping. She stays in a kennel in our bedroom and Ranger is allowed to roam in the bedroom and bathroom. Well Kyle came home on Tuesday afternoon and Riley had an accident in her kennel AND Ranger had one in the bathroom (luckily when he has accidents it is always on the tile). By the time I got home the house smelt of poop and cleaner and Kyle was fuming.
Sure enough after their dinner they usually go poop and neither of them would because they had gone earlier. We tried really hard to get Riley to poop because she now stays out at night on the floor and we don't want accidents. Finally right before bed she went #2 and we went to bed.
Well at 2:39 in the morning Riley was running around the room trying to wake us up. She has figured out that if she moves her blankets in the kennel and taps her nails on the metal it wake us up ( I know she is a genius!!) So she woke me up (maybe Kyle too but he chose to ignore her) so I threw on a sweatshirt and headed outside. Ranger joined and I soon realized that I didn't have my glasses on (I hate not sleeping in my contacts!) and couldn't see what they were doing. I don't think either of them pooped but they did both pee and we went back to bed.
Next thing we know it sounds like Ranger is in the bathroom and up to no good. Kyle jumped up cussing and flipping on lights. (to be honest I heard him moments before Kyle but tried to ignore it because I had already been up once and it was now his turn) **REALLY GROSS ALERT** Sure enough Ranger was in the bathroom and had pooped and was now eating it (some dogs do this because they are embarrassed or don't want to get into trouble and Ranger is one of those). So Kyle cussed and cleaned while I tried to go back to sleep but once again it smelt of poop and cleaner.
We finally woke up with our alarms at 5:30 this morning and I tried to linger in bed until 6 due to exhaustion (I don't do well with less than 8 hours of sleep). I looked at myself in the mirror and I still had the sweatshirt on from the middle of the night and it was on backwards. It read AIR FORCE across my back. I headed out the door with Riley and Ranger again and once again no poop. I took her out again before I left for work but it didn't work. Poor Kyle is probably afraid to go home after work to see what is in store for him.
What a rough night!! I reminded Kyle that just a few weeks ago he was begging for a third dog. I also reminded him that we are just practicing for parenthood one day. All Kyle said was "stupid team."

The big 2-5!
Last was week was a fun but busy week. I got to have lunch with Amy and found out that she got a big promotion at work. Congrats Amy! I also got to visit with my friend Megan and her baby Luke. He has gotten so big since I saw him last. It was a quick visit with Megan and I feel like we had some much to talk about so we will have to get together again soon.
Then Friday and Saturday night we hung out with David, Jen and Brandon. Friday Kyle and I had our first experience at Rock Band. I tried the drums and boy that was hard even with Kyle pushing the pedal for me. Then I tried the guitar and I did better (but not great). David really gets into singing, Jen is amazing at drums, and Brandon is good a guitar. Kyle and I pretty much took turns bringing the group down with the other guitar. But as the night went on we got better and I even sang a song or two. We couldn't get Kyle to sing but we had a blast. Saturday we played various games and cooked out and had a really good time. It was a fun weekend but both nights Kyle and I were up until about 2 in the morning (which is way past our bedtime) and we weren't used to that. We admit that when it comes to bedtime we act like an old married couple.
Saturday Kyle put my picture collage up and it turned out great. It took some time and patience but Kyle did a really good job. A couple of the frames our empty but I am working on getting pictures is those. Ranger also got a haircut and Riley got her nails done (just trimmed not painted).
Sunday we had a lazy day and did stuff around the house. Including watching the Cowboy game which wasn't a great game to watch.
This Friday is my 25th birthday. The big 2-5. A quarter of a century. To be honest I don't really care about turning 25. I am not dreading it but I am also not really excited about it. I told Kyle all I wanted from him was to put up my picture collage (check) and take me to dinner. We might try to do happy hour or go to a bar after dinner with some friends. I haven't really decided. I am hoping to buy a camcorder with my birthday money and will hopefully get a book from Melisa (it's a tradition and I can read it next week at jury duty!). We will celebrate with Kyle's family on Saturday along with his grandfathers birthday.
We are trying to plan another vacation. We are having a tough time deciding where we want to go. We hate to spend the money but we really enjoy traveling. We try to take advantage of this time together. We are considering Mexico, Cruise, NYC, and Vancouver. We thought we decided on a cruise because that was cheapest, but now we can't decide.
I have been in a funk the past couple of days. I feel stressed and like I have a lot on my plate. Maybe it is my birthday, maybe it is CPA, maybe it is work, or maybe it is just life and I need to get over it.
16 sleeps until Angela and Annelise get here!

2010 has already proved to be busy.
January 1st Kyle was in David and Jen Funderburk's wedding. David is a close friend from high school. The wedding was so pretty and we had a great time! David and Jen live really close to us and we hang out with them as often as we have time for. We are so excited for them and look forward to have another married couple to hangout with!
On December 30th I found out that I have an eye allergy/infection. My eyes have created an allergy to my contact which has cause and infection!! Sounds great doesn't it. So I have been going the past 10 days wearing my glasses. I have a follow up appointment Monday so I hope they say that the infection is cleared up and I can wear my contacts again.
Then on January 5th I went to the doctor because I wasn't feeling well. Though I thought it was a sinus infection, I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting the flu. Sure enough it was a sinus infection and I am taking more meds! I am feeling all better now!
Friday I found out that I have been summoned for jury duty in the CRIMINAL court!!!! I am so excited. It may sound silly but I have never done this before. I was summoned once before but it was in the Ellis county court and it was finals time at TCU so I got out of it. Now I actually get to go through the process and I am thrilled. I read a lot of cop/mystery novels so this is fun to me. People keep laughing at me saying that it isn't much fun, but I am interested in going through the experience. I told Kyle when they ask me questions I will say "I love murderers!" so the defendant will pick me but then I realized that the prosecutor won't like that so I can't say that. What would Jack McCoy want to hear? (Law & Order) After another 30 seconds of thinking it through I decided I will just answer the questions honestly and if they pick me then great! (Don't worry Daddy I never would have said I like murderers, I would be honest no matter what!!) Jury Duty is January 28th! Wish me luck!
Today we did a lot of housework. I went grocery shopping and ran some other errands, Kyle did a little work on the jeep. We put our dining room back together (now that the tree is gone). Lots of laundry. FINALLY pulled some dead shrubs in the front yard and trimmed the tree. It had some crazy branches so I convinced Kyle that we needed to "shape" the tree so it would turn out pretty ( not sure if it is true but the speech worked!). We decided on the bathroom pictures so now I need to go back to Hobby Lobby to finalize everything. I designed the collage on the wall for the living room and am going to put it up on Monday. I feel like it was pretty productive for a Sunday! For those of you who are asking (my momma) no I didn't do any studying. I plan to start on Tuesday : (
I hope everyone has a great week!
