Ice Days

Monday and Tuesday we were home because of snow days but really it was mostly ice.

When Cooper woke up and Kyle told him that he didn't have to go to school because we had snow, Cooper said 'I bet my gator can drive in the snow.' We assured him we would test it out later.

Casen was so cute looking out the window at the snow.

The boys had a fun little hangar sword fight.

We bundled up and headed out.

Love this little snow bunny

Cooper didn't want his picture taken.  He just want to make tracks.

He loved driving the gator but it didn't do very well on the ice.

He helped Casen with his four-wheeler.

Then we headed inside for some hot chocolate.

They never smile at the same time.

And of course they had to have some wrestling time with Daddy.

We decided to hang a few more things on the walls...I am a good wife :)

The boys took great naps and I enjoyed a nap also.

That night Casen practiced carrying these legos around and as he did he would sing.  I am convinced he was practicing being an altar server and carrying the cross. It was too cute.

Tuesday Kyle went into work and I stayed home with the boys since their day-care was still closed.  At one point Baby Godzilla wouldn't stop destroying big brother's construction site so I offered to let Cooper take the toys in his room and close the door.

Someone was heartbroken

And someone else was much happier.

That afternoon we played games, ate popcorn, and enjoyed cartoons.

During their nap I was bored so I made this delicious chocolate chip pound cake.  This is the second time I have made it recently.  It is so good and moist it doesn't need icing.

Tuesday night I decided to start looking for ideas for Easter outfits for my boys.  Checkout my Pinterest board here.  I pretty much pinned every shirt from every kid's website.  I have a large order from Crazy 8 headed my way because they had a great deal on their shirts that ended on Tuesday and I couldn't make up my mind.

I learned two things-
1.Dress clothes for boys can be expensive by the time you buy the whole outfits. 2. I have a tough time mixing plaids.

I am looking forward to that package and the little fashion show hopefully next week.

The two days at home were pretty nice. There was some cabin fever and I was ready to get back to work.  But I also enjoyed sleeping in and being with my boys.  I also was reminded that I am a bored eater so probably not good to be a stay at home mom.

Weekend Recap

Friday night when I got home I decided I wanted to go to Stations of the Cross at church.  Cooper didn't want to go to church so Kyle stayed home with him and I took Casen for a little date night.

He was excited at first but then was ready to get out of the car and decided that taking his shoes and socks off was a good way to pass the time.  Luckily he doesn't do it that much these days.

Instead of going out to dinner we decide to go to the church's fish fry. OMG!! Do you still this boy's horrible hair! Way over due for a haircut.

This picture is a little blurry but I like he sweet hands.

He chowed down on the mac and cheese.  We shared this plate.

Then it was time for dessert!! It is worth a big smile.

Then we headed over to church but not before stopping at the gorgeous fountain.

Doesn't he look about 3?

And mommy was feeling nice and let him touch the water but I have a feeling I will regret that every Sunday.

Here is a pic I took of Cooper and once again OMG that hair!!

Saturday we slept in and then I headed out to do some window shopping for decorating the house.  My V-day gift from Kyle was time to myself to do whatever I wanted so that is what I did.

That evening Aunt Jen Jen and Uncle David came to visit.  First we played outside with the gator and walked around the neighborhood. Jen and I had a fun time walking in the houses under construction to see what they looked like.  We also met two little boys in the neighborhood that are 5 and 3.5. Cooper loved playing with them for about 20 minutes.

Then we all went inside to make tacos for dinner.  After dinner the boys got their hair cut and had baths.

Doesn't he look so much better?  I told Jen that I wanted to go a little shorter for Casen this time so that I can spike his hair.  Now I need to get 'paste' so I can properly spike it.

This troublemaker is always into something.

We let the boys stay up late and then the adults played games.  We tried some new beer, ate too many brownies, and had a great time.  I really miss seeing them weekly.  It was so nice to randomly go to dinner with them during the week and now it just seems like our weekends are never long enough.

Sunday I scrambled to get to church at 10 so I went by myself.  But I got to sit with Melisa and her girls with is always fun.  They both love their Aunt Nanna.

After church Kyle was feeling stir crazy from being home all weekend so we went to a local Mexican place for lunch.  Cooper was good so he got to play a game before we left.  Unfortunately he was a little short for the game so daddy had to hold him and I had to help with the gun.  Casen sat driving the car game next to us.

That afternoon we made a fort with our kitchen table. Honestly they weren't that excited about it.

We played hungry hungry hippos but below Cooper was yelling at Casen because Casen kept stealing the marbles from other people...the joys of a baby brother.

That night we made a pot of stew and a pot of chili.  This time I made it with ground venison it was pretty good but I used 1.5 lbs and it was too much meat.  Next time I will only use 1 pound because I like more veggies.

The boys decided they wanted cereal for dinner which rarely happens so I went with it. And we ate in the fort.

Caught him up to no good once again. Good thing he is cute.

Playing with his finger toothbrush.

Cooper wanted to take a picture with Ranger.

At this point we already knew day-care was closed on Monday so we let them stay up later.  I have a lot of pictures from our two days at home for tomorrow.

Play date with some of my favs

Yesterday we had to little ladies over to play for the evening.

The girls don't love dogs so Tinsley spent the first 30 minutes or so up here at the table.

She kept brushing her hair out of her face so I grabbed a bobby pin and pinned it back.  I don't think she even noticed it was there and left it until bath. Isn't she adorable?

After I got dinner going I took the time to introduce her to Ranger and help her get comfortable.  After that she was pretty much fine.  The kids enjoyed playing while I made dinner and I appreciated the distraction for my boys.

Dinner time! The Tobola girls were NOT excited about bacon penne pasta.  Cooper even said 'Oh Mac Mac! These are noodles and it's my favorite!'

She didn't believe him...

Mean Aunt Nanna made her try one (JUST ONE!) noodle before she could go play.  She sat there for nearly 10 minutes before she finally at a noodle....And that was all!

Don't worry about the death stare she is giving me.  She got over it very quickly.

The kids loved played with the trains

Then I gave the two toddlers a bath, but someone was not happy about bath time.  This is sad but I think she associated bath with bedtime and was worried she was going to have to spend the night.  I didn't think spending the night with me was that bad, but this girl was not happy.  Luckily her mommy was picking her up later.

She insisted on wearing her shoes and again I think it was to say 'I am leaving later!'

Sweet girl cuddled on the couch with me for like 2 minutes before she felt reassured enough to enjoy the rest of her evening. They all played, made messes, and had fun for another hour before Melisa picked them up.

Don't let this face fool you...we all had a blast! Cooper and Mac tried to convince me she needed to stay the night.  Unfortunately I can't fit that many kiddos in my car, but I assured her we will have a slumber party soon...Tinsley may opt out :)
