Weekend Recap

Last Friday we had dinner plans with Jen and David.  Unfortunately a horrible storm came through on our way and there was flash flooding.  This is in the stockyards of Fort Worth.

We made it to the restaurant and the rain let up some before we headed in.
Casen thought these lights around the column were cool.

Cooper wasn't with us because he was at Mimi and Grandpa's for a sleepover.  Casen didn't mind the attention and he was so well behaved.  This is him licking a spoon covered in sour cream.  He picked it up and decided to try it but it made us all want to gag so we made him stop.

A little band walked by and decided to sing us a song. As soon as they came over I knew they were going to sing us 'Momma's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys'.  I knew this because when Cooper was about this age they sang the same song to us.  Casen was completely embarrassed and scared.  At first he just stared bright-eyed at them the he started drinking his water and wouldn't make eye-contact.  It was making us all laugh.

Then he watched the band everywhere they went.  I think he was nervous they would come back.

Played the motorcycle game with Aunt Jen Jen which is funny that David still has this game on his phone because Cooper used to play it also.

Saturday morning we got up really early to have a garage sale at my sister's house.

Casen was a mess and into everything.  Here is was looking over the side of her driveway into the ditch.

My grandparents cleaned out a lot of old stuff out of storage including these bowling balls and tennis rackets.  I am 30 years old and I don't think they have played since I was born!  We sent this picture to my cousin Randy and told him it was his inheritance.

The kids loved playing in the old jewelry.

At one point I changed Casen out of his pjs and into these clothes. Then before we knew it he had sat in this mud puddle and judging by his face he ate mud. Have I mentioned he is 100% boy!

Saturday afternoon we went to Vincent and Weatherly's birthday party at a park. The weather was gorgeous and the kids had a great time. I just loved Casen in this hat and he loved these juice barrels.

Cooper was all over everything and barely stopped moving.

Well he is related to me therefore we always stop for cake.

That evening Kyle got the riding mower running.  He took each of the boys on it and they just loved it.

Melisa- I think we know where my boys get their serious/angry eyes from! Like father like son!

Sunday morning Casen woke up crying early and I couldn't go back to sleep (though he had no problem going back to sleep in my bed).  So I went to mass early by myself and it was such a great mass and homily.  I really like Father Foley.

Afterwards we ran to Lowe's and the boys HAD to ride the tractors out front!

Then Sunday afternoon we went to another birthday party for my cousin Robert's little girl Ella.  They had a painting party and each kid got to paint a canvas.  I loved it! And Amber is the perfect brave momma to host this party.

Below is Cooper's.  He had a heavy hand with the paint and just loved to keep swirling it.

Here is Casen's.  I helped avoid the heavy paint and turned the canvas so it wasn't a mess.  Kyle assumed the first one was Casen's.

We had such a fun weekend and we are looking forward to another fun one!

Johnson Easter

The weekend before Easter we celebrated with my dad's side of the family.

We had a yummy lunch and then an egg hunt.

Right now my aunt doesn't have any grandchildren so it is just the six kids in our family but of course two of those live overseas.  So these 4 were our egg hunters.  My Granny is the one that made our basket liners.

This one made me laugh because they are all smiling but none looking at the camera

Look how excited Casen was!

The 3 year olds got straight to business

Babi was Casen's basket carrier

And Grandaddy took care of Tinsley

At the end of the hunt Casen was running with his basket and tripped (not at all surprising with this kid).  He flipped over his basket and it looked like something out of a blooper reel in slow motion.  It was so funny (especially because he didn't cry).

Time to check out the loot

I love this picture of my Granny laughing.  We are so blessed to be such a close family and truly enjoy spending time together.

Babi brought bubbles and I just love this picture of Casen.  He still looks like my baby here.

Uncle Kyle helping Tinsley.  Which is also not surprising because Kyle's four nieces have always loved him.  It is too funny.

Then the kids went on a ride in Papa's mule.

Would you believe me when I say that the next weekend Grandaddy went and bought a 4 seater mule.  The kids haven't been in it yet, but I am pretty sure it is just for them.

It was such a wonderful day with the perfect weather.

Easter at school

Cooper asked me if I would be at his Easter party so I decided to take the afternoon off and go.  He told me mommies come to parties so I expected there to be quite a few parents.  Well actually it was me and two dads!

My sweet niece MacKenzie was happy to have me there since my sister couldn't make it.

Eating their party food

Then I bounced over to Casen's room and as soon as he saw me he picked up his plate to give it to the teachers and leave.  It was too cute and he was so confused.

Sweet Weatherly which is a friend of ours.

Love this cheeto face!

Ready for the big hunt!

First ones off!

Vincent is Weatherly's big brother.  It is fun because we have three sets of siblings in the same class.

Now Casen's turn to hunt

Casen and Tinsley

Casen and this little girl went straight to the back of the playground and were the only ones.  They knew exactly what to do.

Tinsley was so funny leaving her basket with the teacher so she could move faster.

Then she would looks like this and run back with her arms full.  It worked well!

Casen's loot!

This was taken with my phone.

These three friends play together and hunt together.

I am so glad I made it to the party.  I plan to go as long as Cooper will let me : )
