Last Friday we had dinner plans with Jen and David. Unfortunately a horrible storm came through on our way and there was flash flooding. This is in the stockyards of Fort Worth.
We made it to the restaurant and the rain let up some before we headed in.
Casen thought these lights around the column were cool.
Cooper wasn't with us because he was at Mimi and Grandpa's for a sleepover. Casen didn't mind the attention and he was so well behaved. This is him licking a spoon covered in sour cream. He picked it up and decided to try it but it made us all want to gag so we made him stop.
A little band walked by and decided to sing us a song. As soon as they came over I knew they were going to sing us 'Momma's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys'. I knew this because when Cooper was about this age they sang the same song to us. Casen was completely embarrassed and scared. At first he just stared bright-eyed at them the he started drinking his water and wouldn't make eye-contact. It was making us all laugh.
Then he watched the band everywhere they went. I think he was nervous they would come back.
Played the motorcycle game with Aunt Jen Jen which is funny that David still has this game on his phone because Cooper used to play it also.
Saturday morning we got up really early to have a garage sale at my sister's house.
Casen was a mess and into everything. Here is was looking over the side of her driveway into the ditch.
My grandparents cleaned out a lot of old stuff out of storage including these bowling balls and tennis rackets. I am 30 years old and I don't think they have played since I was born! We sent this picture to my cousin Randy and told him it was his inheritance.
The kids loved playing in the old jewelry.
At one point I changed Casen out of his pjs and into these clothes. Then before we knew it he had sat in this mud puddle and judging by his face he ate mud. Have I mentioned he is 100% boy!
Saturday afternoon we went to Vincent and Weatherly's birthday party at a park. The weather was gorgeous and the kids had a great time. I just loved Casen in this hat and he loved these juice barrels.
Cooper was all over everything and barely stopped moving.
Well he is related to me therefore we always stop for cake.
That evening Kyle got the riding mower running. He took each of the boys on it and they just loved it.
Melisa- I think we know where my boys get their serious/angry eyes from! Like father like son!
Sunday morning Casen woke up crying early and I couldn't go back to sleep (though he had no problem going back to sleep in my bed). So I went to mass early by myself and it was such a great mass and homily. I really like Father Foley.
Afterwards we ran to Lowe's and the boys HAD to ride the tractors out front!
Then Sunday afternoon we went to another birthday party for my cousin Robert's little girl Ella. They had a painting party and each kid got to paint a canvas. I loved it! And Amber is the perfect brave momma to host this party.
Below is Cooper's. He had a heavy hand with the paint and just loved to keep swirling it.
Here is Casen's. I helped avoid the heavy paint and turned the canvas so it wasn't a mess. Kyle assumed the first one was Casen's.
We had such a fun weekend and we are looking forward to another fun one!
