Weekend recap

Last week Cooper did thigh slimming with me

This yummy cake isn't helping with the thigh slimming! Strawberry banana from Dixie House

Any of you that knows my boy knows that he is a busy body.  But he sat and played with this toy for more than 30 minutes just rearranging and building.

Last Thursday I went running with my friend, Chelsey at a local park.  We did a full 3 miles and had a decent time for us.  We will keep doing this once a week and our first goal is to get under 10 minutes.

Last week the boys had camo day and this was our camo.  We don't have much at this age so we will need to work on that before deer season!

I might be dressing up like a Fruit of the Loom character soon! I signed up to volunteer at a back to school event for kids through work and after we agreed we got an email saying this year some volunteers will be dressing up.  Love how they waited until after we committed!!

Now for the weekend-

Friday night we went to a local burger place that I really like.  Though I like their other location better because they have fried pickles and fried jalapenos there.

Saturday we went to visit Kyle's great grandmother who turned 104! I have pictures but will have to share later.  It was a nice visit with yummy desserts. From there the boys went to Mimi and Grandpa's for a slumber party.

Kyle and I did some shopping and then headed to the gun range. This was my first time to shoot 'my handgun' that Kyle bought me back in February.  Let's just say I need some practice, but I did hit the target.  And if anyone tries to break into my house I will aim for the left shoulder :)  Or just hide under the bed.

The boys had fun swimming and Grandpa even joined them

Kyle and I went to dinner at Mariano's in Arlington.  It is owned by the same people as La Hacienda Ranch (one of our favorite places).  The queso was awesome and the fajitas were amazing.  We will definitely go back.

Sunday the boys came home and shortly after that Casen headed to Babi Camp 2015.  Cooper and I headed to the movies.  I tried to get him to nap for over an hour before but no luck.  2 minutes down the road and this is what I see.

We went to see Minions and he liked it until the last 15 minutes.  He kept saying he was ready to go but that could have been because he was scared.

Cooper was in a rough mood that afternoon so we struggled.  I posted this on Facebook.

Aunt Lusa and Mac Mac met us as the theater and took Cooper for a slumber party.  Yes, you read that right.  I was kidless two nights in a row.  Is kidless a word? My spellcheck doesn't like it.  I went home and cleaned out closets, did lots of laundry, and grocery shopped.  Very glamorous, but someone has to do it and I am too cheap for a maid.

I will share pictures this week from Babi Camp session 2 and session 3 as well as the slumber parties.

Catching up

Last week the boys had Rangers day at school. I laughed because Casen looked at Cooper and then put his hands behind his back the same way.  You can see their hands in the mirror behind them.

Last Thursday I attended a Moms' Night Out event hosted by Kendra Scott with two of my college friends.  I didn't buy anything Kendra Scott because I am a basic jewelry kind of girl, but I had a lot of fun with these two.

I ate 3 of those mini cupcakes! But that was my dinner

Along with one of these sandwiches and two little wraps.  And some champagne!

Saturday morning I took the boys for a donut date.  They insisted on their rain boots and Casen on this silly hat.  It used to look like a normal cowboy hat but not after two boys.

Our yummy donuts

Then we went home and played outside and did things around the house.  I put some towels away and came back to a gremlin in my dryer.  Still with boots and hat!

Then he flipped the hamper on its side and climbed in.

Then he wore daddy's shoes

And was quite frustrated on how difficult it was to walk in them. Have I mentioned this boy keeps me on my toes?

That evening we went to Babe's for dinner with Kyle's family.  It was delicious as usual. And still wearing the hat.

The restaurant was pretty dark for a selfie. After dinner we went to Aunt Shari's for dessert and games. Kyle met us there after a long day of work with my dad.

We took this selfie at some point Saturday

Sunday I went to mass early by myself which is why their aren't any kiddos in my picture this week.  Then I went grocery shopping and met the boys at my parents.

While at Walmart I looked for water shoes for Cooper and was annoyed by these.  Both styles have skulls and cross bones.  I am not a fan!

I bought some broccoli for the boys to try with homemade ranch.  I don't like broccoli but I am trying to be better at still exposing my kids to these things.

I was annoyed by the share a coke names.

I sent my sister a note saying Desi and Armen but no Dianna and Melisa.  Just Diana and Melissa.  Oh well

The boys did the waterpark for a bit but Cooper got bit by something and was DONE! My mom took this picture of Casen and we all thought he looked so little again.

Sunday night I checked on Casen before bed and found this!!! The hat was higher but I had to lower it to cover the goods! I love this drunk cowboy :)

Monday I packed my food for the day and this is what it looked like. I have all of these baggies because I don't like soggy sandwiches so I put the lettuce, tomato, and pickles separate. I didn't actually eat all of this food but it is mostly healthy.

I uploaded these pictures on Tuesday and never got around to adding words and posting it.  This week has been hectic and I am hoping it slows down soon.  Maybe after next Wednesday.

A little of this and a little of that

In other words this is a random post. Lately all I do is randoms and recaps, but oh well.

July 1st myself along with 15 facebook friends started this challenge.  Now as of day 15 I think there are 4 of us left.

Casen participated with me one night by doing some squats

He is so cute!!

Casen loves this battery operated toothbrush which is good because he hated brushing his teeth before.

On Saturday morning at Marley's 2nd birthday party we worked out our room assignments for our girls Vegas trip (my aunts and cousins)! It is going to be so much fun but I will have to count how many times we argue.  We have a lot of chiefs and not enough Indians.  Good thing we love each other.

Last weekend I got gas and grabbed a coke.  I found one with my friend Chelsey's name on it and had to send it to her.  She was shocked to see something with her spelling on it.  Melisa and I are jealous because we still haven't seen them with our spelling.

Saturday I had a bridal shower to attend for my friend Amy and I didn't take a single picture #fail

But Kyle took the boys to Aiden's 4th birthday and they had a great time.  Cooper didn't want to leave and is already begging to go back to Aiden's house.  I am so thankful Kyle was willing and able to handle the boys so we could attend both events (Tiffany took this picture)

Cooper has fallen in love with the song Here I am, Lord sung by Collin Raye that I have on my phone.  He calls it the Jesus song and is learning the words.  It is so cute and warms my heart. I guess I might be doing something right.

Sunday morning I went for a massage because I was having bad neck, shoulder, and back pain from work.  I have horrible posture and a lot of stress at times.  The massage was nice but I needed longer. I still have some pain but it is a lot better

Then I got the boys and went to church.  They were so good in church.  I was really impressed.  And Cooper is doing so well learning the songs and prayers.

That evening Casen joined me again for our thigh slimming

Then Sunday night I made these mini banana puddings for work.  I actually just did the wafers and pudding that night.  Then I added bananas, cool whip, and wafer on top at work Monday afternoon.  I made them because I was craving this recipe and Kyle doesn't eat it.  They were delicious and I think my coworkers agree.

Monday I made myself change straight into workout clothes when I got home so I would go for a run.  Then I noticed that Cooper and I matched which meant we needed a selfie.

Last night Kyle and I got a mini date night. Cooper is at Babi Camp and Casen was at Aunt Lusa's. I will share more about those later.

I pigged out on chips, salsa, and queso instead of ordering a meal.  Then we went to CVS (so romantic) and got a movie from Redbox.  We wanted a movie that wasn't available.  We settled for The Gambler and it was okay, but not great.

Cooper's Birthday

Cooper's birthday is 4th of July and was on a Saturday this year so we had his party that morning.  When he woke up he got to open a little present.

We had his party at a park near our house from 9-11 with breakfast foods.  I will share pictures soon. This is the best family picture we got.

We had so many family and friends there and Cooper loved every minute of his party

He got an iron man mask and gloves that he wore the remainder of the party

After the party MacKenzie and Tinsley came over to play for a while before nap time.  Kyle went to Ennis to help my dad get some work done.  When the boys woke up from nap we got the sprinkler out and played.  They had never done this before at home and loved it.

Cooper asked me to join and I couldn't resist.  I don't want to be remembered as the one who took pictures to capture memories but was never in the memory.  So we had a blast.

We even enjoyed Cooper's new bubble gun.

Then we cleaned up and headed out for dinner. Cooper's first request was pizza but our two local pizza places closed early for the holiday.  He then decided on mac and cheese so we went to Logan's Roadhouse.  As soon as we pulled up he said 'they have peanuts! I love peanuts!'

This was my first time to eat out at a restaurant with them just the three of us.  It was definitely challenging but I am still glad we did it.

Our server messed up my order. Instead of a 6 oz sirloin I got a 12 ounce ribeye! It was huge and delicious.  I only ate half. While eating dinner Casen decided he only wanted to use his fork to comb his hair...with mac and cheese on it! Think Little Mermaid.

I caught this sweet moment of the boys while waiting for dessert.  Cooper said 'I love you Casen.' Be still my heart!

The boys shared a mini dessert (really it was Cooper's). Casen had one bite and then apparently used his spoon to comb Cooper's hair...with chocolate fudge on it!

Cooper wanted to give me a kiss and man did he! Ha!

Iron man got fed up with baby brother and went to the other side of the booth with his dessert.

We came home to our very own ninja turtle by our front door. We all touched it and were surprised by it's soft shell.  Kyle said that is because it was a water turtle. This was a very fast moving turtle because we went back out to see it and could find it no where.

Sunday morning Cooper woke up early and wanted to go to church with me so the two of us went together.  He did so well in church and I loved my time with him.

Then we went home and loaded up to head to Ennis.  Kyle had more work to do and the boys had scheduled some water park time :)

My sister saw this great deal on a slide at Kohl's a few weeks ago and my dad agreed to pay for it so we bought it right away.  This was the first time to play with it and the boys loved it.

This is a lot of pictures but I like the play by play

Afterwards Casen stayed at Babi and Grandaddy's for a sleepover and Cooper went with us.  I treated him to frozen yogurt and we had a great time.

Cooper's birthday weekend was amazing.  He probably won't remember all of this but I just loved it all.  I hope one day I can show him this blog and share what we did.

Tonight I have to do his questionnaire that we did last year.
