Weekend Recap- Fall Festival and more

Last weekend was a crazy busy weekend! I started it early by taking a half day off on Friday afternoon.  I ran lots of errands.

Then I went to meet sweet Hannah Olivia.  Jodi (my college roommate) welcomed Olivia on Thursday and I couldn't wait to get my hands on her.  I do not have baby fever at all for myself but I love holding other peoples' babies right now.  I am hoping to visit them again next week sometime.

Isn't she beautiful!? I am so happy for Jodi and Corey.

Friday night we went to Fall Festival at the boys' day-care.  You can see our previous fall festival adventures here.

Cooper was an adorable pirate and loved the games.  In fact, on the way to the festival he started mentioning all of the things he did last year at the festival including the ducks, bounce house, and bowling.  I didn't get a picture but he can't stop talking about riding the school bus from the big parking lot to day-care.

And our handsome little devil had fun too.

We had to take a picture with Mrs. Jamie!

Miss Amanda is one of Cooper's current teachers and she thinks the world of him.

See the blurry pirate on the right.  It was hard to get a good picture since it was dark.

This is Kyle's fake smile and Casen looked away because of the flash.

We wanted a picture of Cooper with his friend Luke (who was also a pirate) but at this point Luke was tired and had been sick earlier this week.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early for soccer.  Do not expect a Week 6 recap because this is the only picture I got.  Cooper did not step foot on the field.  He also refused to take team or individual pictures. It was extremely frustrating and I am sure my blood pressure was through the roof, but it is what it is.

After soccer my mom took the boys to Ennis and then we packed our bags and headed to Ennis as well. On the way we stopped at the new house and checked the progress.  It is coming along quickly but I will do an update next week on that.

Once we got to Ennis we headed to a family wedding.  These silly two kiddos found a little hole in the floor and kept playing with it.

Attempt at family pictures with a crummy flash on my phone.

This one turned out pretty cute for a selfie!

Melisa and Tins!

Saturday night we stayed at my parents and Mac stayed too.  Here she is helping Uncle Kyle put the kids' air mattresses away.  She loves her Uncle Kyle. And at first I didn't take a picture but the she asked me to : )

For lunch on Sunday we had homemade gorditas from church and went to my Granny's house.  Casen was obsessed with their dog Shorty and Shorty loved him just like last time.  It was like Lassie and Timmy.  They followed each other everywhere.

Sunday afternoon we went to this little guy's 1st birthday party which was Halloween themed.  We all loved seeing the kids dressed up since we are usually not with family for Halloween and an excuse to wear the costume again.

Here are most of the kids (minus the stubborn pirate who needed a nap)

Sweet Casen and Eli checking each other out.

So to summarize we had a fall festival, soccer game, wedding, and birthday party all on one weekend! It was exhausting but fun.

Randoms

I thought about trying to give this post a different name, but it is what it is...randoms

Here are the boys in matching pjs again.  LOVE!

A couple of weeks ago I officially signed up for the turkey trot! It is a little over 4 weeks away so I need to get to work and stay on track.  I am running tonight and my goal is 2.25 miles for this week.

My MIL and I went to a local craft/vendor fair (I wouldn't call it a craft fair at all really) I was trying to take a discreet picture of this cowboy sign.  It is made with sheet medal and then back by another piece of colored metal or something. We thought this could be an interesting way to put Cooper's name on his wall...

One shop had these gorgeous wall pieces.  I wasn't going to buy but I took their card to consider once we move.

Giant TCU boot!

That night we went to dinner at one of our favorite places, La Hacienda Ranch. So yummy!

The boys go for the horses!

On Sunday we did grocery shopping and then hungout around the house while Daddy did some work for deer season.  Cooper was playing so sweetly by himself.  He has such a great imagination right now and I love to hear him act out scenes similar to shows he has watched.  This time he was teaching himself a counting lesson. The conversation went something like this-

How many cars do I have? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 5 cars! Now drive one away. Zoom Zoom in the truck (loading them into the back of the semi truck).  Now how many cars do I have? 1, 2, 3, 4.  4 cars!

He continued all the way until all the cars were loaded in the truck.  It was so cute and I must say pretty smart!

All the while Casen was pulling out every toy he could get to.  Can you find him?

Casen is really into being a big boy and if he sees something Cooper does he wants to do it too.  This night he insisted on using a spoon and he did really well.  I know they let him use plates and spoons at day-care.  For now he is still in the highchair.  Once we move he will sit at the little table with Cooper and use a plate and utensils.

We also did a little dress rehearsal one evening with our Halloween costumes.  Since I couldn't coordinate the two costumes I thought this little devil costume was too cute for 'Our Little Hell Raiser'

Already hitting the dogs with his pitchfork.  Not sure why mommy thought the pitchfork was a good idea.  I guess because Cooper got a sword and it was only $3.99

I know I am biased but that is the cutest pirate ever!

I wish I could say I am caught up, but I am not.  So a lot more randoms coming your way.

Three at a Time- Day 22

So I was really enjoying the daily challenge and I felt like I was super productive.  I often accomplished more than the 3 items on the list because I was better organized and managing my time better.  However, I was behind on blogging about our daily life, weekend recaps, my healthy living updates, and my random posts.  So that started to stress me out and so I dropped the Three at a Time posts.  I figured I would still do the three things each day just not blog about them. HA! I had about 4 lists going and they started getting so overwhelming that I couldn't keep up.  And I was doing all of the easy ones and not prioritizing.

So here are some things I have knocked off the list-
Lots of laundry
Wash the highchair covers and wipe down the plastic
Return wrong size diapers to CVS
Trip to Walmart
Contact landlord
Contact bank lender foCr new house
Got a baby gift for a coworker
Enrolled in health insurance
More recipe cards
Refill dog food (simple but annoying)

Tomorrow's to-do list

Talk to lender
Make follow up appt for Casen at ENT
XTO dependent care enrollment
Casen's 18 month appt
File insurance claim
Go running
Wash boys laundry
Gather Halloween costumes

It is a long list but some of them won't take long and have to be done.

Our weekend in full of lots of fun but go go go therefore I am considering taking a half day on Friday to get stuff done.  Unfortunately work is also super busy so it is a trade-off.  I know I will have lots of work waiting for me on Monday...

So I might be posting two posts a day.  One of my Three at a Time and one trying to catch up on life.  We will see.

Soccer Week 4 and Week 5

The weather for week 4 of soccer was cold! My MIL offered to watch Casen and keep him out of the cold which was wonderful.  This time it was just Kyle and I with no other family.

When we first showed up Cooper was cold and moody.  With the weather like that we considered skipping but we were signed up to bring the snacks that week.  I posted this picture on facebook with the hashtags #noplanstotouchtheball and #soccerisnthisthing.  Honestly Cooper was in a horrible mood.

But then Kyle and Cooper played on the side and warmed up.  Cooper was laughing, smiling, and even said 'I love soccer!'

After a little warming up we convinced him to go out and play the game (we bribed him with a juice box after the game).  He went out there with Kyle and just stood there.  He didn't kick the ball or anything but it was an improvement.  We didn't have to drag, carry, or beg (too hard) to get him out there.

He ended up going out there twice and all of the parents cheered for him.

At the end of the game the coach gave out two medals and Cooper received one of them.  The league does a weekly medal but for some reason that week each team had two to give out.

As soon as it was medal time I just had a gut feeling he would get one and of course I didn't have my nice camera or the video camera with me that week.  And no family was there to see it.  But really it was still perfect.  Cooper was so proud of his medal.

The league lets you take a sign home for your yard if you receive the medal.  We took the sign but forgot to take a picture.  And I thought I was smart by taking it on Week 5 however I didn't notice the jersey difference.  So now you know.

Week 5 didn't go as well as Week 4.  Cooper was hyper and easily distracted.  We only got him out there once or twice and it was short lived.

He actually got to go our there and do the kickoff and did well.  Unfortunately the referee stopped the ball and said that I couldn't be on the field with him (mind you Kyle had been on the field earlier and she said nothing) and had to leave.  Well of course as soon as I left Cooper followed me and was done.  I was so livid I think smoke was coming out of my ears.  After a minute or two (maybe 8) I knew that she wasn't trying to be a jerk (though she could have used a nicer tone).  She was just doing her job.  I was just disappointed that Cooper finally got to kick the ball and it didn't count and I had to leave the field.

We have three games left and we are all ready for it to be over.  It has been a fun experience but also very stressful.  I constantly remind myself and Kyle that it is our job as parents to expose him to these different things so he can figure out what he likes.
