Friday Favorites

I never got to share my Friday Favorites last week because I was home with sick Cooper.

Last Tuesday was Ranger's 10th birthday. I surprised him with a bone and the boys and I sang happy birthday to him.  He loved the bone but in hindsight maybe a 10 year old dog shouldn't have a hard bone. I hope he didn't lose any teeth! Oops!

The previous weekend I bought Breyers or was it Dreyers (why are there two ice creams with such similar names!?!?1) Reese's Blast ice cream.  As you can tell I have no brand loyalty except Blue Bell so I don't know the brand of this ice cream.  Pretty sure it was Breyers. Honestly it wasn't that good so keep walking and save your calories for Blue Bell.

Speaking of Blue Bell- I am about to plan a road trip down south just to find Blue Bell.  It is taking a sweet forever for them to get it back into the stores.  Is there somewhere I can go to see their distribution plan and how long I can expect it to be before I get mine?  Because honestly I feel misled.  How many weeks has Houston had Blue Bell, but not us!  Do they continue to restock Houston and yet DFW has yet to get any?  I really would like to be privy to their comeback plan and distribution strategy.  You think I am joking!

Last week I decided to try curling my hair one day.  It turned out pretty good for my first time.  But I need to work on take better selfies. I feel like they often times aren't very flattering to my round face/ double chin.

Then later that evening I shared this on Facebook

Cooper had some rough days at school but on Thursday he had a great day and his reward was popsicles.  We drove straight to the store from day-care and he picked out Avenger popsicles (wouldn't have been my first choice, but he was the one that got to pick).  And as soon as we got home they got their shirts off and celebrated Cooper's great day!

While at the store I saw these yummy chips! If you haven't tried them you should.  They have are seasoned with a salty/chili powder seasoning and are delicious.  They aren't spicy. The boys love them!

I also saw that the grocery store had their own version and they were just as good.  Actually this is the bag I opened and haven't opened the bag above yet. So yummy with guacamole. I plan to enjoy them with queso as soon as Kyle and I are recovered from the tummy bug.

Friday Kyle was off work but had a full day of working outside on our lot with a rented skid steer.  So I stayed home with Cooper.  I casually hinted to Kyle that if he had to stop at a gas station he could get me anything flamin hot.  He cam back with these goodies! He must love me!

Those are my favorites from last week. I still have to recap the past two weekends so stay tuned!

Chicken Enchilada Bites

I have a recipe I want to share with you.  I love these for dinner but I think these are perfect for football watching parties and holiday party appetizers.

I actually created this recipe from another one I tried 2 years ago with tortillas that just didn't work for me.

Chicken Enchilada Bites

Ingredients-
1 bag of Tostitos Scoops
1 can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup
1/4 cup of sour cream
3/4 cup of salsa
1 teaspoon chili powder
3 cups of shredded cooked chicken
1 cup shredded cheese (I like the Mexican Mix)
Fun toppings

***

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

Mix the soup, sour cream, salsa, chili powder, chicken, and cheese in a medium bowl and your mixture should look like this.

Lay out your Tostitos Scoops on a cookie sheet

Put about a tablespoon of mixture into each scoop. The mixture actually makes enough for two trays like this below.  I put half of it away in a plastic container and made the second batch the next night.

Bake for 10 minutes or until hot

Here are some of our favorite toppings

Top them and enjoy!

This is such a yummy and easy meal.  My whole family ate them which is a winner in my book!

Please let me know if you try them and what you think.

Cooper's 4 Year Questionnaire

Last year I asked Cooper these questions around his birthday and I decided to do this each year to see how his answers change. I asked back in July but am finally posting his answers now.

Disclaimer- When I did this survey he was in a very silly mood and had a hard time concentrating to answer.  The next night I tried again and it went a little better, but you will understand as you read.

***

How old are you?  4

What is your favorite number? 4

What is your favorite color? Green (this has been his favorite color for quite a while now so he wants to pick green everything)

What is your favorite drink? 'Orange Crush, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Coke, sweet tea. That's a lot I wanted to drink!'  Wow his answer makes me feel like a bad mom but I promise he doesn't drink just sodas.  However because they are a special treat he remembers them and asks for them.  At home we try to stick to chocolate milk, apple juice, or water.  But he does share a soda with me some nights when he has a good day.

What is your favorite food? apple, lollipop, seaweed(??), pizza. I would say pizza is his favorite food. He also loves pasta, corn dogs, quesadillas, apples, strawberries, grapes, and DESSERTS!! This boy has a major sweet tooth like his momma.

What is your favorite show?  Paw Patrol, Octonauts, and Little Charmers. I have NO CLUE what little charmers is.

What is your favorite holiday? Halloween.  I think that is because it is the next holiday.  And he is always wondering what is next.

What is your favorite thing to do with mommy? hug

What is your favorite thing to do with daddy? play wrestling

What is your favorite thing to do with Casen? play with him

What is your favorite book? truck flip book. I don't even know for sure which book this is.  But his favorite books over the past year have been some old Bernstein bear books from when I was a kid and Wacky Wednesday.

Who is your best friend? Vincent, Mac, Aiden, and Brody

Who are your teachers? Miss J and Miss D

What do you want to be when you grow up? Superman!!!

What is your favorite movie? Octonauts, Paw Patrol, Pirates and Tinkerbell (not sure where the Tinkerbell came from)  He isn't a big movie watcher and prefers to watch recorded shows from our DVR.  This is fine with me because it means it is short 30 minute shoes instead 1-2 hours.

What is your favorite toy? Ninja turtles.  This is funny because he has so many toys and not sure that he has a favorite.  He loves all things superhero right now and loves playing with cars and trucks.

What is your favorite thing to wear?  superhero shirt...see a theme?

Who are you going to marry when you grow up?  I don't want to get married.  Probably a typical answer for this age.  Or maybe he will be a priest!

What is your favorite sport? Basketball

What do you like to do at Babi and Grandaddy's house? Play with superhero toys

What do you like to do at Mimi and Grandpa's house? play with Dixie Doodle

At some point he added these two questions :)

What is your favorite thing to ride- gator  (he wanted that question)

What is your favorite thing to swim in- bath and pool

If you want to read his answer when he was 3 go here.

Friday Favorites

On my way home each day from work I pass this.  It is a haunted house and pretty creepy looking

We had a cool morning Monday morning and Cooper told me he needed a jacket because he had the shakes.  Well we were already at school but I told him that he had jackets at home. So Monday when we got home from school he insisted on a jacket and picked his camo hoodie (Angela this is the one from you. I think he likes it ).

And of course baby brother had to have a jacket too! And be in the picture!

Saying their prayers before dinner.

I saw this on Facebook and thought it was fun. I am A. What are you?

Tuesday Cooper had basketball at school and they shared this picture on Facebook.

Then that evening we played in the driveway.  Unfortunately Cooper was in a bad mood and easily frustrated.  He kept yelling at me if he missed the ball and it was my fault. So after about 10 minutes we had to go inside. #benicernexttime

Baby brother didn't want to go inside either #hehadpoop

Casen has had tummy issues since last Saturday.  His poor bottom is raw and he has been super fussy in the evenings. But they said he has done fine at school besides dirty diapers. #sorryteachers

Fussy boy after bath

After bath on Tuesday we cuddled in my bed to watch the Ranger game and ended up doing a photoshoot

Someone else wanted to make the excited face after the Rangers got a home run!

Then silly faces

After I put Casen to bed then I went out for a run.  The weather was milder which is nice but it also gets dark earlier.  It was a pretty good run.

When I got back from my run someone was hungry and very high maintenance.  Needed a snack, needed a drink (my water), needed a blanket, couldn't walk to bed because he was cold.

And he backwashed in my water and I choked on it! Yuck!!

This weekend my parents church in Ennis is having their annual bazaar.  One of the church staff members drove to south Texas and bought a ton of blue bell.  They revealed the surprise this week that at the dinner and dance on Saturday you get two scoops of Blue Bell. I am so jealous I don't get to go.  That is my daddy in blue :)

Wednesday night we played outside again and Cooper 'I am sorry I was ugly yesterday.  I won't be ugly tonight so we can have fun.'  And later he took Casen on a gator ride because Casen begged him to.  The first trip Cooper came back with flowers.  The second trip both Cooper and Casen brought me flowers.  Casen was so excited to bring me some like his brother.  I got all teary-eyed (then and now). I love that Casen looks up to his brother so much and they have such sweet hearts.

That evening Cooper said he wanted to hangout with me and watch the Ranger game(also he couldn't watch cartoons because he was on yellow at school)

Last night this stinker wanted to help with dinner.  It can be a little crazy because he wants to touch everything but I try to be patient and enjoy it.

This sweet puppy dog!

This is how I feel lately. Just trying to make it through the day!

Last weekend I got into the attic to pull out fall clothes from Cooper that will now fit Casen.  When I did one of the boxes had fall clothes but it also had summer clothes!! I was so upset that these cute clothes hadn't been worn by Casen and soon can't be worn.  So now I am rushing to have him wear all of the clothes.  I found these TCU shorts that Cooper wore! Love it!!

Today is National Cheeseburger Day! I already have a dinner date planned for me and the boys with my cousin, Erica at Branded Burger. I can't wait for fried pickles!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Weekend Recap

Friday evening it was just me and my baby.  He wanted something and I didn't understand so he was throwing a fit.  Cooper was at a slumber party.  Kyle met us for dinner but then Casen and I ran errands until 9:15 that night! We were both exhausted!

Saturday morning I picked up Cooper from his slumber party and raced home. Kyle went to do the Savage Race (7-mile obstacle race) with our friend Jen. I chose not to participate this time.  My mom came to watch the boys and I headed to a bridal shower for Kyle's cousin.

After the shower I met these lovely ladies for a day of TCU football! My sister Melisa got 4 free tickets and invited us to join her.  We packed a cooler, food, and went to my friends tailgate.

This is my roommate Jodi's daughter, Hannah.  She is so cute and did so well at the game.

This is my friend Nicole's baby, Truett.  I really enjoyed all of the baby snuggling!

And we got to celebrate Nicole's 30th birthday with her!

Me and my sister!

Me, the roomie, and Hannah!

Our first attempt at a selfie with the selfie stick.  Everyone laughed about me getting this and honestly I have only used it a handful of times.  But for fun we pulled it out.  We had a little technical difficulty.

That's better!

Claire, Jodi, and I.  I got to see the lovely people two weekends in a row! So fun!

And then with Oliver and Corey

Our post-game picture! The Horned Frogs won big and I had so much fun with these ladies.  I hope to attend another game this season and take Cooper for the first time.

When I got home the boys were so excited to see me.  And Cooper made me this 'sunflower' out of his tinker toys.

Sunday I went to early mass and to the grocery store.  Then I raced home to make two cakes for my grandfather's birthday.  We had a late lunch potluck and had a great time.  I didn't take many pictures but I did of this funny boy.

He pulled this truck up as his seat to eat his lunch.

And he loved walking around with his backpack on

Here are pics from Cooper's slumber party at Vincent's house with MacKenzie on Friday night.  I love these little friends.

They had A LOT of fun!

We had a very fun weekend as usual.
