Friday Favs/Randoms

1. Do you remember this post with the quilted letters? Well my amazing Granny made a set for each of her great-grand kids (well 1 per family I guess).  We got ours on Tuesday from my mom and Cooper loves playing with them already. The letters and numbers are made out of odd and end fabrics my grandmother had and I love that they are older prints.  Then she also made colored squares, triangles, circles, and hearts! Cooper seriously loves playing with them!  Thank you so much to my Granny!

2. I got a new parking spot at work in one of our gated lots (bigger parking spots) and it is a great spot right up front....then I noticed I am under a tree.  Kyle is not going to like cleaning bird poop off of my car.
3. I had a rough night Wednesday with Cooper and his messed up sleep habits and was grumpy yesterday.  I couldn't stop thinking about things I had to get done before this weekend and was minimally productive.  So I took an impromptu half day and ran errands.  This included going to Party City to check out ideas for Cooper's birthday party.  LOVE these lanterns! Too bad I forgot my coupon.

4. Speaking of Cooper's party...I just created a countdown on my phone until the party and it is only 64 days! Eek! I better get to work!

5. My biggest errand yesterday was finding a white shirt to wear to my maternity pictures tomorrow. I thought I had it figured out last week but when I went to the store they no longer had my size. I checked two others and still no luck. I checked online and sold out there too.  I settled for another shirt that will work just fine.  Now I hope my pictures don't get rained out.

6. Yesterday we let Cooper play with bath crayons.  He had a great time drawing all over the tub.

Then we gave him a wash cloth and he quickly set to work on cleaning up.

7. This weekend the girls on Kyle's side of the family are going to see Wicked and I am so excited.  I have never seen it before but have heard great things.

8. As I mentioned above Cooper's sleeping habits have been so screwed up lately.  It started 3-4 weeks ago when he was teething and we thought he had an ear infection.  He would wake up screaming.  Then we thought it was nightmares because he seemed very disoriented.  Then he slept through the night fine, but fought us on going to sleep.  For more than a year Cooper has been the type that we just lay him in bed and he put himself to sleep, but suddenly that wasn't the case.  He would lay there like he wasn't tired and sometimes cry for us.

Then we went on our trip to Oklahoma and he got to sleep in the same bed as his Mimi.  I do not think it is the reason for our issues because as you can tell we were already having issues.  Since we got back every night he would scream and cry.  It was taking about 2 hours to finally get him to sleep.

Yesterday I decided it was time to try the big boy bed.  If we are already having issues in the crib why transition once and then again in a few months.  Instead of buying bed rails I bought pool noodles for $1 each at dollar tree (idea from Pinterest) and put those under the blankets.

I laid with him for about 40 minutes and though we laid there he didn't seem tired.  He spent the majority of the time giving me kisses (such a sweet suck up!), pointing out my facial features, and getting super close to my face and just staring at me.  Then Kyle offered to give it a try and with in 20 minutes they were both asleep!

I eventually went in and got Kyle up because he was passed out (we were all tired from the lack of sleep lately).

Cooper slept in the bed all night without a single peep!!
And most importantly...he didn't fall out of the bed.

As soon as I went in to check on him this morning he popped right up.  And then checked the clock which totally made me laugh!

Big Boy Bed Night #1 was a success! I hope night #2 goes this well!

9. I love my blog and I LOVE getting comments!! If you stalk my blog I encourage you to introduce yourself and leave comments!  If you are one that comments, please read this blog post so that I can reply to your comments.  I always want to write back but often can't based on your blogger settings.

10. And finally I will leave you with a conversation between my two favorite boys

Kyle: Eww you have boogers! Do you want me to get your boogers?
Cooper: No, no boogers.
Kyle: You can come to my birthday party.
Cooper: No!
Kyle: Do you like your boogers?
Cooper: I like my boogers.

These boys always keep my laughing and smiling.  I can't wait to add another one to the mix!

The other day Kyle told Cooper "When Casen gets here we are going to gang up on mommy.  We are going to hold her down and tickle her."

I am in for some great times ahead!!

Rodeo

Back in January we had plans with Kyle's parents to take Cooper to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo for the first time.  They got tickets well in advance.  Unfortunately I later found out about my trip to Argentina and the date fell right in the middle of my trip.  I was unable to go but Kyle and Cooper still went with my in-laws.

Here are some pictures from the day.

This picture at the gate cracks me up!

A little of this...

and a little of that...

Last week Cooper sported his Team Harper shirt for his friend (and hopefully future wife) Harper.  They have never actually met, but her mom and I are blog friends! I have a cute shirt too but haven't remembered to take a picture in it.

This picture was hanging at day-care. I am pretty sure he is supposed to be a firefighter but he looks like a mix of a firefighter and construction worker! Still cute either way.

Last week he wore his Messi soccer jersey that I brought back from Argentina.  He was being shy when I took the picture, but he looked so cute.  I shared the pictures with my Argentine coworkers and they all loved it.

I saw this on Pinterest and it cracked me up!  Kyle and I do garage sales with our friends David and Jen.  When I save things for the garage sale he always says that no one will buy it....but we always make good money.  I think this is what our signs would say if we let the boys make them!

I saw a hilarious sign this morning on the way to work that I need to take a picture of (safely) and share.

Last week was my last girls night of Keno and as soon as I opened the front door Cooper ran to the door looking for Aunt Jen Jen.  Apparently he associates her with opening the front door.

Also on our way home Sunday from Oklahoma we talked about seeing the dog dogs.  He then followed that with "what Aunt Yen Yen doin?"  Again I think it is funny that he thought of her when we talked about our house.  I bet he can't wait until we have dinner with them on Friday!

Are you playing Candy Crush saga on your phone? I have gotten hooked on it and am stuck on level 65.  On Monday while waiting on the doctor I sent this picture to my sister Melisa asking if she had tips or tricks because she already beat this level.

Monday's weather was gorgeous (actually kinda hot) so while Kyle did the yard Cooper and I went on a stroller ride and then he tried out his tricycle that he got for Christmas.  His legs are still too short for the pedals but he loved playing on it!

Driving like the Flintstones and using his feet.

At one point he thought it might be easier to just push!

Despite Monday being in the 80s it was only 50 degrees when I left work yesterday and it was gloomy weather.  I am looking forward to it warming back up since it is almost May!

I got a sweet package in the mail from my college friend Emily.  Her wedding is this weekend in Ohio and because I am so far along in the pregnancy we can't go.  She decided to send a little bit of the wedding to me.  It was a box of what they are giving their out of town guests at the hotel.  Cooper and I ate a Twix right away!

It came with the cutest little book that mentioned what was inside, suggestions for the weekend, and timeline for the wedding.  Emily designed all of the invitations, RSVPs, programs, and any other paper products herself.  She did an awesome job!

Thanks again Emily for sending me the goodies and making me feel special.  Sorry that we won't get to be there!

I think that is all for today! Hopefully tomorrow I will share pictures of our adventure at Little River Ranch in Oklahoma with Kyle's family.

34 Weeks!

How Far Along: 34 weeks along and 85% of the way through ! 42 days until Casen's due date!

Size of baby: Casen is the size of a pineapple (19 to 22 inches and 4.9 lbs)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 24.7 lbs...this weekend we did a lot of eating and I did very little moving!

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Gender: Sweet boy Casen Andrew!

Movement: Casen is still very active

Sleep: The usual.  Last night I was really nauseous before bed and I had a hard time sleeping.  Kyle ended up moving to the couch.

Cravings: sweet tea, pizza, laffy taffy, Mi Cocina salad

Symptoms: Still having BHs and some discomfort when Casen is moving around.  He is so big and still so active that it can be uncomfortable at times.  Overall I am still feeling good.

Best Moment this week: We enjoyed a relaxing and fun weekend with Kyle's family in Oklahoma.

At today's appointment Casen's heart rate was 144 and my blood pressure was good. I am measuring exactly 34 weeks.  I just read my 34 week post with Cooper and his heart rate was 144 also! Funny! I also read that the swelling of my feet officially started between 33 and 34 weeks. I am glad that hasn't started yet with Casen.

Hardest Moment this week: I can't think of anything.

Next Appointment: 5/6 which will be my last two week appt!

They already scheduled my remaining appointments! Crazy!!!

Weekend Recap

For Easter Aunt Jen Jen and Uncle David got Cooper a tee ball set.  So Friday night we went to dinner and then they came over to play tee ball.

He preferred playing defense over offense and chased the balls all around the yard.

When he did hit the ball he wanted to use the handle of the bat...we have some practicing to do.

Friday when hung around the house while Kyle and my FIL stained our fence.  The weather was finally nice enough with minimal wind to get it done.  It looks great!

Cooper tried out his tricycle that he got for Christmas but his legs still aren't quite long enough.  But he already knows what to do and talks about his tricycle every time we go in the garage.

Cooper couldn't stand not being outside with his daddy and grandpa.  He kept yelling Grandpa.  He was thrilled to pack his back and go home with Grandpa for the afternoon. He had no problem leaving us!

Kyle and I headed to meet with our builder and make our color selection.  We thought we had two options that we both liked but we then found out that our future neighbor already picked one of the options for their house that is about to start.  And the other option is two over from us plus in the works for 3 other houses in our neighborhood (and as of now our neighborhood isn't very big).

After making all of our selections we looked at a couple more houses in person and really love this one. So this will be the brick and stone of our house, but different design/elevation.

By the time we left it was too late to eat lunch so we stopped at a gas station for a snack.  I saw these and my heart skipped a beat! I love Flamin hot chips (crunchy cheetos, puffy cheetos, funyuns, and fritos) but these are hard to find.  They only had one bag otherwise I would have bought more.  I texted this picture to my sister Melisa who shares my love for flamin hot anything and she was jealous. Now I can't stop thinking about them.  I ate a lot of flamin hot stuff when I was pregnant with Cooper.  See here. And when we saw these Kyle remembered that when pregnant with Cooper I looked these up online to figure out which gas stations had them and hunted them down!  Might have to do that again....

That evening we went to La Hacienda Ranch for dinner with Kyle's family.  I had never eaten there but thought my food was delicious.  The cutey was a bit antsy during dinner but loved going outside and riding the neigh neighs! He rode them at least 5 times thanks to Grandpa!

Sunday morning we went to Ennis to spend time with my family.

Cooper got to go to the ranch with Grandaddy and Daddy. Unfortunately he wanted to get down and play but they were afraid he would get chiggers.  He did get to see some raccoons that my dad caught in a trap.

That afternoon we went to my Granny and Papa's to play games and visit.  Cooper wanted to be outside and enjoyed the weather.  Before we left Papa took Cooper to see the cows.  My Papa walks a little slow so you could see that Cooper watched each step he took and slowed down with him.  It was so sweet.

Cooper enjoyed the visit so much and cried when we left.  I think he would have been fine staying with them and letting us go home.

We had a wonderful weekend with family and we are looking forward to another fun weekend coming up!

Catelyn Michelle is HERE!

My 3rd sweet niece was born on April 15th at 8:15.  Because she was born in South Korea we actually found out on the evening of the 14th which was kinda confusing for Facebook!

She weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and is 19.25 inches.  Big girl for one week early!

She was born via c-section. Both mommy and baby are doing great!

We got to see her on skype soon after.  She has a beautiful head of dark hair and it was obvious that she was a c-section baby.  C-section babies tend to be so pretty because they aren't squished, swollen, and don't have a cone head!

I got to skype again last night with them and she slept the entire time.  So sweet and content. It was nice getting to talk to Angela and check on how she is doing.

Catelyn got to meet her big sister and I think this picture says it all!!

Though Annelise was shy at first she soon warmed up and was beaming!  She is going to be an amazing big sister!!

I absolutely LOVE this picture!  One of the sweetest things I have ever seen.

I am so excited that Catelyn has arrived happy and healthy.  It is killing me that I can't be there and I am dying to hold a baby.  I can't wait to see them this fall when they come to visit, but it still kills me knowing that I won't get to hold her as a newborn.  Now I know how Angela felt when MacKenzie and Cooper were born.

I haven't even held that sweet girl yet, but I love her so much!

Congratulations Minear family! We love you!!

PS- One month from today is Melisa's due date with Tinsley!!! EEK!!

33 weeks!

How Far Along: 33 Weeks along! 48 days until Casen's due date!

Size of baby: Casen is the size of a honeydew (19 inches and 4.5 lbs)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 22.5

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Gender: Sweet boy Casen Andrew!

Movement: Casen is a very active boy as usual.

Sleep: Get up to pee once or twice a night but other than that and tossing from hip to hip I am doing okay.

Cravings: I can't remember my cravings for this past week.  I seemed to want sweets

Symptoms: I just feel big and deal with some BHs.  Casen seemed to be lower this past week and according to my doctor's appointment he is head down. No swelling so far!

Best Moment this week: We welcomed our sweet niece Catelyn today (yesterday due to time change on S. Korea).  She is so sweet and I will share pictures tomorrow!

Hardest Moment this week: It was really hard for me knowing that Angela was having Catelyn and I couldn't be there.  I wanted to be there for support and then of course to hold that sweet girl.  It is killing me knowing that I won't get to hold her until the fall. Now I know how Angela felt when Cooper was born.

Next Appointment: 4/22 at lunch time.

At last week's appointment the heart rate was 144 and my blood pressure was fine.  I was measuring one week ahead which isn't too bad since it was another after lunch appointment : )
