30 Weeks! Unbelievable

How Far Along: 30 weeks has arrived! 75% through and only 70 days until the due date! I can't believe how close we are!!

Size of baby: Cooper is about 3lbs and compared to a head of cabbage.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 23lbs total. Maybe I shouldn't have had two cupcakes at my shower : )

Maternity Clothes: still a mix of maternity and my old clothes.

Gender: It's a boy!! Cooper Scott Cline!!!

Movement: He is still very active and sometimes wakes me up in the morning. He might be a morning person like his mommy.

Sleep: I have noticed a lot of tension in my neck, shoulders, and upper back and I think it is because I am curled up on my sides instead of relaxed on my back. It really isn't fun. I might need to get a prenatal massage!

I took tylenol pm last night because my back was hurting and I still woke up to pee once and twice to drink some water. I was really hoping for a better night of sleep but no luck.

What I miss: I still miss sleeping on my back and I am having to roll myself out of bed now which is oh so much fun!

Cravings: I still love sweets and I have noticed that I am more thirsty lately. I have noticed that I am really thirsty when I wake up.

Symptoms: things are good besides the occasional back pain. I have also noticed that my stomach gets tight and uncomfortable after an adrenaline rush. Like when I almost slipped in the rain and bruised my hip. Or when I realized that Ranger got out of the house yesterday while unpacking presents and wasn't sure how long he had been out.

Best Moment this week: Our first baby shower for Cooper. We got a lot of cute things that I can't wait to share with you!

Hardest Moment this week: Saying bye to Annelise and Angela. I can't believe the next time we see them I will be a mommy!!

Other news: Kyle and his dad painted the nursery this past weekend and we got started on the bookcase. We made the final decision on what to do with it the weather just didn't cooperate to finish it. Things are really moving along!!!

Here is a sneak peek of things to come. Cooper got this adorable gown from his Babi and Grandaddy!! I love it and it is on my list of possible going home outfits (except not sure if it is the best for riding in a carseat with that kind of gown).

TGIF Randoms

I don't have a specific topic for today so I am just going to talk about the random things in my head today

  • I am not really into the whole Royal Wedding thing. I like Prince William and LOVE Kate Middleton but I didn't have a strong desire to watch it or ever record it and watch it later. BUT this morning when I turned on the news and saw it I really wanted to just stay home and keep watching. I wished that I had recorded it from the beginning to watch it. Instead I set it to record the remainder and headed off to work.

  • I am glad that Casey from American Idol is gone. I don't really watch it but since I watch Fox 4 news in the mornings they recap it each week so I have followed it and watched some of the episodes. Some people really liked him but I wasn't a fan. I think he is kinda odd and not very marketable.

  • I stopped at the donut store and got some chocolate milk and pig in a blankets. They did not sit well with my tummy. I feel like I have morning sickness all over again.

  • I think Cooper might have had the hiccups earlier this morning, but I am not for sure.

  • Kyle and I finished painting our sample shelf last night and the crackle thing worked. However the crackle is finicky and you must be consistent on how it is applied otherwise the effect comes out different. Though I like it I am unsure how it will look on the entire bookcase. I am going to Lowe's today after work to talk to the guy and ask a couple questions about tintable glaze or antiquing finish. Last time they had a sample piece of wood of the crackle finish so I am hoping they have the other two finishes and I can see if that may work better for us. I still like the crackle I am just second guessing myself and hesitating on taking the plunge.

  • I can't wait for the nursery to be painted tomorrow!!

  • I REALLY can't wait for our first shower so I can see what we get for Cooper and start filling his nursery.

  • MOST of all I can't wait for today to be over because I am really looking forward to this weekend!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Nursery Sneak Peek

This weekend we are working on the nursery! Kyle and I made some final decisions this week and bought the stuff we need. Kyle's parents are coming over Saturday to paint the nursery walls and if Kyle and I decide for sure on the bookcase then Susan and I will probably start the painting of the bookcase and the table. We can do this in the garage with plenty of air and not deal with fumes.

I thought I would share some pictures that show our plans for the room-

Misty Blue for the walls of the nursery. We are not doing two colors and are no longer doing a chair rail. The more I thought about it with the room being small and the amount of furniture we have I don't think it is worth the time or money to do those things and they be covered by furniture.

Lowe's website

Here is a picture from Valspar's website that shows the blue on the walls!

Hotel St. Francis Fawn for the first coat on the bookcase and table.

Then we will put a weathered glaze on the furniture and top it with this

Peaceful Calm for the top coat

We are going to finish testing the paints tonight for the furniture and if it turns out the way we want then it should create and weathered/crackle look.

And we have picked this fabric from Hobby Lobby for the glider cushions. We received a glider that was Kyle's great-grandmothers and my Granny is recovering it for us. This piece of furniture will be a sweet sentimental thing for Cooper's nursery. Kyle's great-grandmother will be 100 in July when Cooper is born so they will be almost exactly 100 years apart. Her birthday isn't until the 25th so no offense to Okie Nana but I hope he is born before then!

Hobby Lobby

I am so excited to get this painting done and put the nursery together. My goal was to get it done before my showers so that it would be easier to find places for everything right away. We may not get to put everything straight into the room depending on the fumes. I don't want everything to smell like paint. We will air out the room when we get done and hopefully we can put together his dresser this coming week. Then we can start to put things away and decorate!!

****************

Yesterday I had my 4 week checkup at 29 weeks. Cooper's heart rate was in the 160s and sounded good. I am measuring exactly 29 weeks so I am no longer measuring one week ahead. I must have just gone through a growth spurt before the last appointment. The doctor was able to tell that Cooper is head down so that is good that he isn't breach. I can't remember if I ever put it on here but I passed my glucose test which means that I do not have gestational diabetes.

My doctor did remind me to make good eating choices because I still have a ways to go and the more I gain the more I have to lose. It sounds mean when I write it (type it) but she was very nice about it. According to her scale I have gained 22lbs which is right on track, but I think what alarmed her was my chart. I gained 6 lbs since my last appointment and the time before that I had gained 11lbs in 5 weeks!! She just doesn't want me to continue with that trend. I think what she forgot is that I only gained about 3 lbs in my first 16 weeks because I was so sick.

I know that I haven't gained too much weight however I do know that I go overboard with the sweets. Yesterday was a birthday/snack day at work and I had a piece of cake, 1 chocolate donut, some candy, and then ice cream last night after dinner!

So as you can tell I am not good with the "in moderation" thing!! OH WELL!! It sure did taste good! I am really lucky I didn't have gestational diabetes because you have to follow a pretty strict diet including no sweets!!

I am now considering if I want to eat a piece of the leftover cake this morning because it is my favorite cake from Costco! (This costco cake is a whole other post in itself! I love it!)

Not sure what to call this...

Last night we went to the Ranger game to celebrate my dad's 50th birthday! It was my dad, Angela, Annelise, Melisa, Trent, Kyle and I.

Yep you read that right we are missing someone. My mom had to be in Austin for some work stuff and couldn't be there. It really sucked not having her there but this week was the only time we could go before Angela and Annelise leave on Monday.

Yep you read that right and they are leaving on Monday. I am already sad about it. I have enjoyed having them here so much. I can't get enough of that sweet little girl. She is absolutely amazing and she knows that she means the world to us. We all would do anything for that girl and just can't get enough of her. It makes me sad that they are leaving and it also makes me sad that the next time we see her there will be 2 more grandkids in the family. She will no longer be the one and only! I will have Cooper to worry about and and new niece Mackenzie to share attention with. As excited as I am about Cooper and Mackenzie sometimes I don't want things to change. I love that Annelise is the center of our world and our one and only! But at the same time I know that she change is inevitable and that she will LOVE her new cousins. She is going to be an awesome older cousin!!

In the mean time we had a blast with her last night. She took turns entertaining each of us and the people all around us. She went around tickling us and especially liked her "Unc Ky" last night. It was so sweet seeing him with her, but I know that Kyle felt uneasy at first (it was written across his face). Before long she had turned him into a puddle of mush just like the rest of us. We had a great time with my dad and I love seeing him with Annelise. He shared nachos and ice cream with her. Then they stood up during the 7th inning stretch to sing "Take me out to the ballgame" and dance to the "Cotton-eyed Joe." It was adorable!! I can't wait to see him with Cooper!!

We had a wonderful time despite the fact that the Rangers did not have a good game. In fact I now think that I am bad luck. I went to 5 games last year and they lost them all and I have now been to 2 games this year and they lost them both. We are going again with Kyle's family May 28th, but that may be my only game until we take Cooper because I don't want to keep bringing the bad luck!

And boy am I tired today!! I have my doctor appointment at 11:20 today so I will get to hear Cooper's sweet heartbeat!

Weekend Recap

We had a fun filled Easter weekend!

Friday Kyle and I both took a half day and he added side steps to his truck so that I am now able to get in easier. It is really nice having those steps.

Saturday I made my granny's homemade chocolate cake recipe and I tried cake pops for the first time. Overall the cake pops turned out well, but I could have used another set of hands and now I know a few tricks for next time. I wrapped them individually in saran wrap and tied a bow around them so people could take them with them. This is how they turned out!

Saturday evening we went to Kyle's great-grandmother's retirement home and brought dinner and games. All the food was delicious and we had a great time outside playing ladder ball.

Kyle, his dad, his grandfather, and his great-grandmother

Kyle's grandmother (Nana) playing ladder ball. She developed a signature move that we now call "The Nana"

Kyle's uncle has a nice camera and after mentioning wanting to take some maternity pictures the other day he has offered to take some for us. He can get more experience with his camera and it is free for us! We played around a little with it but the lighting wasn't great due to the storm coming in. We plan to take some more at a park later when I am a bigger.

29 weeks (wow he looks tall compared to me!)

After dinner we packed up the dogs and headed to Ennis. We went in the night before so we could get up early and go to mass with my family. Mass was very full and we weren't early enough so we had to sit in the choir lost but it was still a nice mass. After mass we went back to my parents to have breakfast and see what the Easter bunny brought. Annelise got some fun goodies, Cooper got this cute bunny, and Kyle and I got a Sonic gift card!

We relaxed around the house and played with Annelise the rest of the morning. She enjoyed playing with Riley and even warmed up to Ranger by the end of the day. She loved taking Ranger out on his leash for walks and to potty.

Then we all headed over to Granny and Papa's for lunch and games. We even did a little Easter egg hunt for Annelise. She was great at finding the eggs and was so excited each time she found one. She especially loved the yellow ones!!

That evening we headed back to FW for another busy week!

We had such a nice weekend however we did miss seeing Trent, Melisa, and Mackenzie. I also hated to miss the Sylvester (mom's family) Easter egg hunt but we look forward to going next year with Cooper!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

29 Weeks!

How Far Along: 29 weeks! 77 days until the due date and I am so excited!!!

Size of baby: Cooper is about 2 1/2 lbs now and the size of a butternut squash.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Well I made up for last week with all of the Easter goodies and I am at a total of 21lbs gained.

Maternity Clothes: still a mix of maternity and my old clothes.

Gender: It's a boy!! Cooper Scott Cline!!!

Movement: I enjoy Cooper being so active and having the reassurance that he is doing well. He has gotten more active in the evenings and sometimes doesn't want to settle down for mommy to go to bed. I joke that since he is keeping me up now Kyle will be in charge of being up with him when he gets here.

Sleep: Some good nights and some bad.

What I miss: sleeping on my tummy and on my back. I am jealous of Kyle when we are lying in bed at night and he is on his back.

Cravings: Sweets, sweets, and more sweets!

Symptoms: some slight lower back pain but overall I am feeling well.

Best Moment this week: Imagining next Easter with Cooper here. I can't wait and get excited about how much fun it will be. Plus spending Easter with Angela and Annelise. I can't wait until future Easter's where all the grandkids will be hunting eggs.

Hardest Moment this week: Not being able to hold Annelise as much as she wanted (all the time!) and I wanted. I held her a lot but I didn't want to overdo it and my mom and Angela were the most worried.

Other news: Wednesday is my 29 week checkup and from here I will have an appointment every 2 weeks!! I am looking forward to checking with the doctor and getting closer to Cooper's arrival.

Melisa only has 7 weeks and I can't wait to meet Miss Mackenzie.

This weekend Melisa and I have our joint baby shower in Ennis and I can't wait for that either!!

(29 weeks pic coming tomorrow!)

Random

I am so glad it is Friday and I am treating myself to a half day of work. I have wanted to take a half day all week and finally just waited until today. I have a LONG list of things to do, but it will still be nice to start the weekend early.

One of the things on my list to start today is to make cake pops. I know different people that have made them and a lot of people have blogged about them so now I am going to take the plunge. I think they will be fun to take to Easter festivities this weekend. I will share pictures next week!

Speaking of Easter festivities, we are missing the Easter egg hunt with my mom's side of the family this year. For those of you know me, I hate to miss out on anything and it is killing me to miss it, but we just can't do it all. Hopefully the schedule will workout better next year when Cooper is here.

We are getting closer and closer to actually painting the items for Cooper's room so working on that stuff is on my list for today and tomorrow.

Well I think my belly button is finally starting to pop. What is weird is that I have noticed that it isn't all of the time. It is almost as if Cooper has to lay a certain way and my belly button is pushed out. I noticed it the most this morning but by the time I left for work it was flat again. I know that this is a normal part of pregnancy but to be honest it freaks me out and I will be thrilled if I can avoid the full belly button pop!!

Since dealing with my brakes last week I am thinking more and more about getting a new car and honestly I am dreading it. Most people would be excited to get a new car but I am too realistic and all I think about is car payments. Kyle and I have been without his truck payment for about a year now and we have worked really hard at putting extra money towards my student loans. It has been tough but we are making a lot of progress and I want to keep it up. We can afford a new car, but that means we will be putting less towards paying off my loans. My goal is to have the loans paid off within five years instead of the allotted 10 years. Plus I figure I need to payoff my education so that we can afford to put Cooper and other Cline kids through private school if we choose. I am VERY goal oriented so it is hard to get the car and slow down on the loans, but I also know I will love my new car once I get it.

The other worry about my new car is that I have a VERY tight parking spot at work and I drive a little neon. I am not sure what is going to happen when I upgrade to a small crossover!

I told you it was random stuff!! Have a good weekend!
