Another bad day (or two days!)

I am in a horrible mood!  Things have just been sucky!!

I woke up late this morning so of course I was late to work.

Cooper spit up on himself on the way to daycare and it got all over the straps and buckles of his car seat so I had to spend time cleaning that up.

My computer completely sucks and the cd drive wouldn't work so that I could look at the pumpkin patch pictures!  I want to wait and get a new computer on Black Friday but I don't know if I can wait that long.

My work computer doesn't have a cd drive (for security purposes) so I still can't look at the pictures.  It looks like I am going to have to wait until this weekend to look at them on someone else's computer.

My house is a wreck and needs to be organized and cleaned badly.

Work is stressful trying to catch everything up from the past 3 months and thanks to some procedural changes that I didn't know about I have had to redo some of my work 2 times now!!  And they are sitting on my desk to be redone again.  Seriously they could have told me this stuff before I did them or at least after I redid them once!

I have more errands than I can count, but can't seem to get them done!

Our weekends are so busy with family that I haven't been able to get the housework and errands done that I normally do.  I feel so blessed to have family close and we love spending time with them but I just have got to do better with time management.

The brakes on the Neon (that we replaced in April) are acting up so we had to take that back to the brake place yesterday.

Cooper is still sooo congested and I just want him to feel better.  Luckily he is still in a great mood, but I still feel bad for him.

Riley is still favoring one of her hind legs so I think I am going to have to cave and call the vet.

I have to get a flu shot today and I HATE shots!!

**Update**
It is going to cost almost $300 to fix the neon, Kyle's truck needs new shocks that is going to cost about $400, and Kyle got a traffic violation last week that is another $250.

Nothing like kicking you while you are down!!

Sorry for this crappy post but I just needed to let it all out!

Weekend Recap

When I uploaded these pictures from my phone it switched up the order and I can't get them fixed! So annoying!

Friday night after work we loaded up and headed to Ennis.  We spent the night at my parents and Cooper got a little Halloween book from my mom.  She read to him and he sat there so content.

Saturday morning we got up early and headed to downtown Ennis for the Fall Festival.  My Granny had a booth of all sorts of cute things she has made.  The bulk of it was adorable receiving blankets and burp cloths.  We had a great time and she sold quite a bit of stuff despite the heat!

My cousin Mary babysat Cooper for the day but she brought him up around noon to hangout for a little while  Here he is holding Joshua's Ranger's bat.  Doesn't he look like a natural? Ha!

Saturday was a long day and we ended up driving home listening to the Ranger game.  Luckily we made it home in time to watch the second half and see them clinch the ALCS.  Rangers are headed to the World Series!!!  I can't wait until it starts on Wednesday!

Sunday I finished up the craft projects for the pumpkin patch pictures and we headed to Kyle's parents house.  We went to the pumpkin patch and it was very hot and of course I wanted to dress for fall but it wasn't fall weather.  I think we got great pictures despite the 90 degree weather.  We are supposed to get the CD of them tonight and I can't wait to see them!!

After the pictures we headed back to Mimi and Grandpa's house to hangout.  We watched football and played with Cooper.  They have a baby play gym from when Kyle was a baby and Cooper LOVES it.  It is a lot more fun than the one we have and it can keep him preoccupied for quite a while.

We all sat on the floor and just watched him play! ( Melisa, in the pic above I think he and Mac resemble each other!)

He enjoyed watching the football!  (sorry about the glowing eyes!)

Earlier Sunday morning while I was getting stuff done Kyle got Cooper up and kept him busy.  I walked in to the living room to find Cooper watching cartoons.  I thought it was absolutely adorable.

Sunday evening before bath time we relaxed watching tv and I cuddled with Cooper on the couch.  I love cuddling with him like this.  In fact I did it again Monday night because he was a little fussy and I was more than happy to hold him!

I rearranged some of the pics but I could not get this one to go to the top but I love it and still wanted to include it!

We had a crazy busy weekend but as usual it was wonderful!

State Fair of Texas

Last Wednesday we went to the State Fair of Texas with David and Jen.  We took the afternoon off of work  and stayed for about 3 hours.  Unfortunately it was not an ideal fall day and it turned out to be pretty hot.  But we had a great time trying new foods and walking around.  Cooper did great and we always have fun with David and Jen.

We split the things among the four of us so that we can try more different things.  The only reason I go to the fair is to eat!!

 "The Walking Taco"
It was crushed up doritos with ground beef, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and jalapenos!  It was yummy!  We could have added tomatoes, lettuce, and olives but Kyle isn't a fan of those things.  I forgot to take a picture before we stirred it up so it doesn't look that appetizing!  Kyle and I were the only ones that had this.

"Chicken Fried Bacon"
It was okay.  Not great and not bad.  The bacon didn't have a real strong taste and was a little dry. At least we can say we tried it!  (pic is black and white because Jen took this pic and forgot to change the setting on her phone)

"Fried Butter"
We weren't going to try it but a guy in front of us in line offered us one because he didn't want it.  It tasted like garlic bread that was a little doughy.  I thought it was pretty good, but being called Fried Butter doesn't sound appetizing or healthy!!

"Fried Cookie Dough"
This thing was the favorite hands down! It was AMAZING!!  After eating it I wish we hadn't shared it among the four of us.  It was so good that I will probably get it again next year.

"Fried Salsa"

This was hands down the worst!!!  It was disgusting.  The guys refused to try it.  Jen and I each only had one bite.  It was crushed red tortilla chips with salsa fried in a batter with more tortilla strips and served with queso.  Sounds like it could be good but unfortunately it taste like soggy tortillas chip and wasn't good.  Disappointing especially because we walked all over looking for it.

"Frozen Sweet Tea"
This is the last thing we tried.  It was pretty good.  Taste like sweet tea and had the texture of a lemon chill or strawberry chill.  Almost creamy instead of icy like you would expect.  We couldn't eat it all and probably wouldn't get it again, but still fun to try.
Last year we tried Fried Snickers, Fried Oreo, Fried Frito Pie, Chocolate Dipped Turtle Cheesecake and I can't remember what else.  Those were all good.  This year we experienced some sub par foods but it was still fun!

Cooper did great the entire time!

He even napped despite the heat!

I had a great time and can't wait to go back next year!

Random Friday

1. I ordered some custom bottle labels for Cooper and they should arrive any day now.  I can't wait for them to come in so the daycare can stop writing on the bottles.  It will save them time and I hate that they write on them even if it does come off.

2. I received a notice that we haven't paid our car insurance.  Somehow I put the bill in the paid stack instead of unpaid.  I usually pay them right away but with maternity leave and momma brain I messed up.  Luckily they gave us notice and I took care of it right away!

3.  This is how I found Cooper one morning when I went to wake him up.  Ignore the mismatched pajamas.

4. One day I check on the daycare web cam and saw Cooper and Aiden (the other little boy that was born on Cooper's due date) both playing under the play gym together.  It was so sweet.  I hope they end up being little buddies!!

5.  This Saturday my cousin Mary is babysitting Cooper.  We are both excited but I am also a little nervous.  This is the first person outside of my immediate family to watch him.  She has been around kids her whole life (her mom babysits for a living) and is expecting her own little one in January so I am not worried that she doesn't know what she is doing.  I am just worried that I will remember to bring everything and tell her everything.  Which is all completely silly because I know it will go great!

6.  Today is pajama day at day-care!  Doesn't he look cute?  The pics are a little blurry because he was too busy playing to sit still for the picture.

7. Sunday we are supposed to take pictures at the pumpkin patch and Kyle noticed that it is supposed to be in the 90s and windy!  Not ideal picture taking weather!  Plus they don't open until 1 so it isn't like we can get out there before it gets hot!  I guess we will make the most of it!

8. I have some craft ideas for the pictures, but I have no clue if I will get them done.  I may have to get up early Sunday morning to get them done before we leave!

9. I love my house but HATE my utility room.  It is so small and is so narrow.  It is horrible trying to get through it to the garage with the baby carrier.

10.  This is Cooper's "Fall Foot Art" with footprints and I LOVE it!!  It just brings a smile to my face.  I can't wait until they start sending this stuff home with him!

I guess that is all for today. 10 things is probably enough! Have a wonderful weekend!

Cupcake Review!

The cupcakes we had for my mom's birthday were from La Bella Cupcakes and they were delicious! (I wish I took pictures)

I love trying new places to eat and I love desserts so I decided to try this new cupcake place located in the Fort Worth Stockyards.  Plus it helps that I had a coupon for half price cupcakes!

For my mom's birthday we had chocolate on vanilla, vanilla on chocolate, and cream cheese on chocolate.  We cut them up and tried them all!  Vanilla on chocolate was my favorite!  I also like the cream cheese on chocolate.  The chocolate on vanilla was good but the chocolate icing flavor was a little strong for my liking.

I also had two specialty cupcakes at home for Kyle and I to try.  I wasn't really hoarding them I just figured get simple ones for the birthday since I didn't know what everyone liked.  So Kyle and I tried Rollo and Oreo.  The Rollo tasted like chocolate cake with caramel icing and was so moist.  I loved how moist it was.

BUT my very favorite of all of them I tried was the Oreo. It was so moist and absolutely delicious.  We had it Saturday morning (don't judge) and I was wishing that I hadn't agreed to share it with Kyle.  The only downside was that the oreo bottom stuck to the paper but I didn't care.  I peeled it off and ate it anyways!

This cupcake place definitely gets my stamp of approval.   The cupcakes were delicious, the owners were so sweet and friendly, and they have a frequent buyer card!!  If you buy 12 cupcakes you get 1 free!  I guess I will have to go back and earn my free one : )

I am not getting paid to do this blog I just like supporting local business and as I said before I love desserts.  Plus I love to critique foods and share it with people.  I do it with my coworkers, I do it with Kyle when we try new places, and I do it with my two friends when we try a new burger place each month or so.  I know that my opinion doesn't mean much, but I love doing it anyway!!

So if you live in Fort Worth or are visiting stop in and try them.  Let me know what you think!

Weekend Recap

Finally getting around to the weekend recap.  For some reason I dread this post each week, but I really want to document things.

Friday night we celebrated my mom's birthday.  We went to Texas de Brazil and it was delicious.  Things were a little hectic with two babies, but we survived.  The reservation was right at bedtime for them so we just did the best we could.

We went back to Melisa's house to open presents, have cupcakes, and hangout.  Of course we didn't have pictures taken at the restaurant so we just did a couple of pictures when we got back.  The cupcakes were delicious and I am going to do a review of them later this week!

Cooper was not in the mood for pictures and he was throwing a fit.  But doesn't he look adorable in his jeans and pearl snap. My granny made the shirt for him and I just love it!
 Look at that fit!!
Saturday morning we went to Ennis to hangout with my dad's side of the family.  My Granny's birthday was Monday so we were celebrating with a yummy lunch, playing games, and some sewing!!

We organized things for the fall festival this coming weekend.  My granny has been busy making all kinds of cute things!
We also worked on Cooper's Halloween costume.  I gave the design/directions. Granny and my mom did the sewing.  This was such a fun project and I love knowing that Cooper's first Halloween costume was made my his great-grandmother.  I will share more pictures of it with you closer to Halloween, but here is a sneak peek from the back!
Then we sat down and played a game of Canasta.  My granny hadn't gotten to play with us in months and it is one of her favorite games.
I was Granny's partner and of course, we won!!

Sunday we did stuff around the house and then went to Kyle's parents to hangout.  We had pizza and played with Cooper.  Of course somehow I didn't get pictures with them.  I promise that it isn't on purpose and I am going to get better at it!!

Random

I don't feel like doing my weekend recap post today so instead I am going to share the random stuff in my head lately along with some cute pictures to make the blog more interesting!

1. The Rangers won last night in a walk off grand slam and it was AMAZING!!!  I love Nelson Cruz and I got tears in my eyes watching it happen.  It felt like game 7 of the World Series.  I am still on a high from it and can't wait for tonight's game!  Whoa Nellie!!!!

 2. I don't like the pretzels in Chex Mix.  I normally like pretzels but these seem dry and not very flavorful.  Yes, I have bought more bags of the Chipotle Cheddar Chex Mix and I love it!!

3. I don't take criticism well.  I have always known this, but lately little things have brought this fact up again.  I am trying to be better at my reactions to criticism because I know I hand criticism out freely sometimes.
 4. Kyle and I have been watching "Top 100 Songs of the '00s"  That is the two thousands!  I LOVE it!! I know most of the songs and it is like a giant flashback to high school and college.  There are a total of 5 hours and Kyle and I have finished 2 or 3 of the hours so far.  I look forwarding to watching the rest of them but probably not until tomorrow since the Rangers play tonight!

5.  Cooper has pajama day at school on Friday!  I can't wait to get home and figure out what pajamas he will wear!  Plus he has some cute new artwork hung at school that I need to take pictures of and share with you all!
 6. My dad had lasik eye surgery yesterday and it went well. My mom had it over a year ago.  I am considering having it but I am also scared!  Plus I am cheap!

7.  We are taking Cooper to the pumpkin patch with Kyle's family on Sunday and I can't wait.  I have never been before.  We are going to take pictures but I think we might do the corn maze or hay ride for fun afterwards!  I love making all of these memories with Cooper!

 8.  We are taking a half day of vacation tomorrow and going to the State Fair with our friends David and Jen.  I can't wait to try all the crazy fried foods!  I am planning on going running tonight after work to help offset the outrageously high calorie intake tomorrow!

9. Depending on the pictures we get on Sunday I may schedule pictures for Cooper next week.  Melisa had 3 month pictures done for MacKenzie at JcPenney and they turned out really cute.  Plus she got a great deal on prices.  I just have a feeling we will feel rushed at the pumpkin patch and not get all of the pictures I want (I am kinda picky!).
10.  Aren't these pictures adorable?  I just loved a naked baby!  So soft and sweet!  I think the second one he was saying "ugh, more pictures momma?"
