Weekend recap 2/8

On Friday afternoon I met Tyler and Katie with the boys for a slumber party. For Christmas Tyler and Katie gave them tickets to the Perot museum and a sleepover at their house.

Tyler and Katie have two heelers and Cooper enjoyed getting to know June bug.

Kyle and I went to Tio Tony's for dinner with our 3rd wheel. We were all in bed early that night.

I got this picture the next morning of them enjoying donuts before heading to the museum.

A slow Saturday morning

That afternoon we met to get the boys back.  They had so much fun with Tyler and Katie.  Cooper told me all about June bug, racing the dinosaurs, and eating pizza and donuts. I love the gift of experiences and memories so this was perfect. Plus we got a date night out of it!

Then we headed to Ennis for Czech Fest to represent the KJZT youth group.  The boys loved playing and running around.  And Chloe got lots of snuggles from her aunts and cousins.

I love this picture of my gorgeous momma.

Grandaddy stopped by just to see his grandkids. Really.  He doesn't like these sorts of things but he was missing the kids.

Sunday Chloe and I went to church. She was restless and fussy the entire mass. I finally took her to the entry where I tried to get her to sleep but nothing worked.  I think she was afraid to miss something #FOMO  She was bright eyed and putting on a show when I walked to communion with her.  I could hear people commenting on our pretty girl.

We brought home Rosa's for lunch but the boys don't love Mexican food so I made them mac and cheese and these chicken nuggets.  I saw someone share them on Instagram and they are pretty darn yummy. They were compared to chickfila nuggets. They have a little bit of a pickle taste and Jen compared it to eating a chickfila sandwich that has pickles on it. I thought I was crazy for thinking they smelled like pickles but she confirmed they do that on purpose.

David and Jen came over that afternoon to do hair. Jen did mine, Cooper, Casen, Melisa, Mac, Tinsley, and Tracen. I think she was worn out by the end of it.  We were all well overdue.

Chloe was happy when everyone left and the house was quiet again. She laid here and played for quite a while.

Week of Feb 4th Recap

On the 4th we got the boys off to school and then went to Chloe's 2 month checkup.  Everything went well.  She is still very little but is steadily growing so the doctor thinks she is great.  This mommy that likes to worry, worries about her being so little. Mostly I worry me not raising concerns to my doctor (AND my doctor not noticing) led to her being IUGR and not growing as much. Petite is just fine with me as long as it isn't due to something that could have been prevented.

I really try not to worry about it because you can't change the past. I am just thankful that she arrived safe and healthy.

Poor girl had to get 3 shots and an oral immunization. She was not happy but she got pretty My Little Pony bandaids.  #firstcharacterbandaids.  I thought awww no spider man, star wars, or camo :)

She was worn out after that appointment so we ran to Hobby Lobby to return a few things and browse.

Tuesday morning we hung out for a bit

Then we picked up Casen from daycare for a lunch date

We grabbed Sonic and had lunch with Cooper and his friends.  Casen was so excited to go to Cooper's school. He is excited for kindergarten next year.  He even asked 'will you and Chloe come eat with me when I am in kindergarten?'  I got all teary thinking about sending him to kindergarten because he still seems so little.  But I know it will be wonderful for him and he will really blossom the same way Cooper did.

Tyler and Westin joined us

We took Casen back to school after lunch and Chloe and I got things done around the house.  Well she just sat looking adorable while I ran around.

She got in some play time

That evening the weather was gorgeous so Kyle watched Chloe and I spent time with the boys outside.  It was too windy for her to be out there. #alwayswindyinmidlo

The boys rode scooters and launched rockets

Here is a picture of Casen soaking his toe before we put medicine on it. These darn toes are stressing us out.

A pic of Casen and Chloe showing us the #1 for one more sleep for Aunt Jen Jen and Uncle David. If you look closely Chloe is holding up a 1 all by herself #geniusbaby

Have I mentioned how smiley our sweet Chloe girl is? I can't wait to hear her giggle

This was Thursday morning. I put her in her car seat to take the boys to school and she was so smiley.

Casen helped me get a few groceries and got to push the little cart at Kroger

And Friday I didn't take any pictures. Babi came over and watched Chloe while I went to my dentist appointment and took the boys for a fun night.

Chloe is 2 months old

Oh my goodness month 2 was so much fun with our sweet Chloe girl.  It is obvious in these pictures that she has developed such a little personality.

Stats:
Weight: 8lbs 9.5oz (1%)
Length: 20 inches (0%)
Head: 37cm (13%)

Chloe still wears newborn diapers but we are close to moving up to size 1.

Still in newborn clothes but a few 0-3 month or 3 month depending on the brand.  I am getting tired of some of her newborn clothes so I have been dressing her in some outfits that are a little big.

Still no shoes.  Her feet are still so narrow.

This month she had baby acne show up but it cleared up when she was 7.5 weeks old.

Chloe also got cradle cap that we are still battling.

And finally the last piece of her cord came off so we are done with that.

On January 2nd (1 month and 1 day) she started rolling from tummy to back. This girl can definitely avoid tummy time if she wants, but she also doesn't mind it most of the time. Sometimes she likes for us to hold her on our lap and do her tummy time there instead of the floor.

On January 4th she finally got her first real bath after getting the all clear at her 1 month checkup.  We weren't sure if we should bathe her with that last piece of cord. Chloe LOVES bath time.  She sits there and smiles so sweet...until it is time to get out but no one likes to get out of a warm bath.  We try to keep the bathroom warm with a heater but she still cries when she gets out.  And Casen helps with all of her baths (he stands in the water and helps keep her warm).

Chloe has started cooing some but still no laugh yet.

She has a beautiful smile that melts our hearts and is generous with them.

She still has bright blue eyes and it looks like she is going to have dark brown hair. Some of it seems to be growing on top.

Chloe LOVES her mommy and she knows who her mommy is. Twice this month she stayed with Babi for a short time and she cried when mommy left. She tracks me around the room and lets me know loud and clear if she wants me.

She has a gorgeous smile but she also has a LOUD cry. This girl can scream!  She still hates poopie diapers and lets us know when she has one.  Unfortunately that happens a lot when she is in her car seat and we are in a hurry to get somewhere.  We have endured many car rides to the tune of Chloe's screaming :( Not fun for any of us.

At the beginning of the month she seemed to be spitting up quite a bit and I thought it coincided with me drinking milk so I have stopped drinking milk and limiting other dairy.

Chloe definitely has her tough time in the evenings.  We are still working on finding the right routine for us.  I have been keeping her up from 5-7 and start bedtime at 7.  She goes to sleep around 8 when things go well.

At 7 weeks old she slept 9pm-5am and 6am-9pm. She does something similar to this about twice a week. But most nights she does a 5-6 hour stretch, nurses, and then another 4-5 hours.

Chloe has started batting at toys on her playmat and has started grabbing mommy's hair (by accident).
Her current nicknames are 'Chloe girl' (given by Casen), Baby Chloe, Baby Whoa-wee (that's how Tracen says her name), Baby sister, Clo Clo.

This has been such a fun month with Chloe. She has grown and changed so much and we just adore her.

We love you so much sweet Chloe Girl.

Our little sweetheart

I decided to take some valentine pictures of Chloe this week. She wasn't in the best mood but I got some good ones.  We love this sweet little thing.

I included some funny expressions (she loves to raise that eyebrow) and a few outtakes. Ha!

I put her on her tummy and she immediately rolled over.

Yucky!

Happy Valentine's Day!
