37 Weeks Along

How Far Along: 37 weeks! 21 days until Casen's due date!

Size of baby: Casen is the size of a watermelon (19 to 22 inches and 6.5 lbs) This estimate doesn't mean anything at this point because Cooper was only 6lbs 4 oz at 39 weeks.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Well last week I lost a pound and I said I would make up for it. Well I was right. I weighed myself this morning and I am at exactly 30 lbs and guess what...I am swelling.

I know it is silly, but I am frustrated with the swelling.  There is nothing I can do about it.  Some people swell and some people don't.  They say it is the weather but I know other people with similar due dates that don't swell like I do.  I am just frustrated because I wanted to stay at 30 pounds of gain this time (gained 40 with Cooper) and that isn't going to happen thanks to the swelling.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Gender: Sweet boy Casen Andrew!

Movement: Yes

Sleep: Pee twice a night now.
Cravings: Sweets, watermelon, chips and queso, a burger and fries....hence the weight gain : )
Symptoms: BHs and sometimes they can be pretty consistent. Some lower back pain.  Now as mentioned above I need to add swelling to the list.  It isn't quite a bad as it was with Cooper yet but it is close.  Yesterday I didn't swell nearly as bad as I did on Friday. I can tell my face is more full also : (  It sucks but I keep telling myself it is temporary and I am almost done!
Best Moment this week: Getting things ready for Casen.  I still have a lot to do, but I am slowly checking things off.  I have also started gathering things for Cooper's 2nd birthday party!
Hardest Moment this week: As mentioned above I am frustrated with the swelling. I was just really hoping I could avoid it this time.
Next Appointment: Today!

4/22 11:40
5/6 11:20
5/13 11:20
5/20 11:20
5/29 11:20

My sister has an appointment this morning and is due on Thursday.  I can't wait for an update and hopefully find out when I am getting my 4th niece!!

Kids say the darnest things!

Cooper talks a lot! Though he is shy at times, overall he is a very chatty little guy and I can't imagine where he gets it from.

I want to document some of the things he says and also share some funny ones.

Some things he says lately-

  • I play bay-ball (I play baseball)
  • My motorcycle (he means tricycle)
  • Manana (banana)
  • Canny (candy)
  • scooze me wanger (excuse me Ranger as he runs the dog over with a toy truck)
  • helicopter, no airplane (he previously called a helicopter an airplane and we said 'no that is a helicopter)- he does this all of the time with something.
  • Muffin, no cookie (same thing saying it is a muffin instead of a cookie)
  • 'tickle me' or 'my back' (he wants us to rub his back)

He knows red, yellow, green, blue, orange, purple, pink, and black.  Sometimes get confused with brown and forgets white.

He counts 1-10 but often skips 7.

He knows square, circle, triangle, star, heart and recently added oval and diamond.

******

Now on to the funny ones.

At the end of bath time Cooper squeezes out his wash cloth, and then hangs it on a little rod. The other night after he hung it up it then fell and he said 'oh shoot' as he picked it up....OOPS he got that from me! Better than 'oh sh*t'!

Recently in the car Cooper yelled what sounded like the F word and I was shocked because I don't use that word.  I look to see what prompted it and notice that he is pointing out the window at a flag.  Since then each morning at day-care he points out the F*cks (because there are two).

Each time I say 'flag' correctly in hopes to change his pronunciation quickly.

Last night I took Cooper on a wagon ride and we had this conversation-

Cooper- Ooh Ooh!! What's that?
Me- That's a hole (an uncovered utility hole in some one's front yard)
Cooper- A hoe?
Me- Yes a hoLLLLLe, it is a hole (trying to pronunciate very clearly)
Cooper- a hoe
We continue down the street
Cooper(yelling) - bye bye hoe!!!

I laughed so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants!

I wonder how many hoes we will see on our next walk?

*****
Tonight Kyle and I are having a date night after we meet my mom to hand off Cooper.  I am really looking forward to a nice night with my husband!!

Nothing to say, but feel the need to blog

25 days until Casen's due date and as excited as I am it still hasn't sunk in.  It seems like just yesterday we were preparing for Cooper and now it is almost time to welcome Casen! I have been ordering some things and trying to prepare, but I haven't really started yet.

My mom is taking Cooper on Friday evening for a slumber party so my plan is to sleep in on Saturday (my goal is to sleep until 8:00 but we will see) and then start going through the boxes of baby stuff and get things ready to wash and set up. I am looking forward to pulling out all of those little clothes and reminiscing about when Cooper wore them.

I also plan to pack my bag, Casen's bag, and Cooper's bag.  Plus a snack bag for the hospital : )

A week from today my 4th niece is due! I can't believe it is already time for her to be here. That being said I wish she was here yesterday! I am so ready to hold a baby and cuddle.

I am also looking forward to reenacting this photo of Mac and Cooper (in the belly) with Tinsley and Casen! I have always loved this picture and I am excited we get to do it again this go round!

When I was going through old posts looking for the picture above I started looking at a lot of old posts.  I came across this one when we came home from the hospital in our Rangers gear!

I have to admit that seeing this sweet bruised face broke my heart and made me tear up. It just reminded me how scary it all was. Part of me wants to say that I never imagined I would have such a cute kiddo after seeing this face. But you know what?  Except for the fleeting thought in the very beginning I never worried what Cooper would look like after seeing his bruise.  I could tell deep down that he had such a sweet face and I trusted the doctors when they said it would go away.

Of course I still never imagined my little boy would be as cute as he is (I know that is bragging, but I am allowed to because I am the mommy!)

Quite a few people have asked me if I am nervous about Casen's arrival and going through labor again.  Honestly, so far I am not.  As it gets closer I might be, but for now I am not worried.  I just figure that Cooper's was so rough that Casen's will feel like a cake walk. Hah! We will see!

My plan is to not be induced and just go on my own.  I hope that means things will go smoothly and quickly : )

Who knows what God's plan is.  You may check this blog in a week and I talk about an induction, but for now the plan is just to wait and see.

Each night I pray for a safe and healthy delivery for all of us. Ultimately it is out of my hands so we will just have to see what Casen's birthday will be and how it goes!

Weekend Recap

Friday evening we kept it low key with Chili's to-go and hanging out around the house.

Saturday Kyle worked so Cooper and I decided to go to some garage sales.  Our neighborhood was having their annual garage sale so we loaded up in the car.  At first Cooper wasn't so sure, but then he thought it was fun and said 'we go nother one'.

After a little shopping we went to a play date with his BFF Aiden. Both boys love being outside and would have stayed there all day.  Luckily we convinced them to go in before they got too much sun.

Cooper LOVED Aiden's tractor.  He pushed it all around the yard and couldn't get enough of it.

Cutest little buddies!

After the play date Cooper and I hung out at home until Daddy got off work.  Then we met Kyle's family at Babe's for dinner.  Cooper was in a great mood and dinner was delicious.  Unfortunately soon after we got home I got extremely sick.  Not sure if it was a stomach bug or what but it was not good!

I was up most of the night so we spent all day at home.  At one point Cooper was begging to go to Mimi and Grandpa's house.  He said it over and over again.  When I told him that we couldn't go over there he was in hysterics and I caught this picture.

We spent all day in our pjs and luckily around 9 pm that night I felt much better.

Cooper got a little wild running in the house and hit is chin on our coffee table. He busted the inside of his mouth and the outside.  It actually looks worse today because the blood is darker in the bruise and it is more noticeable.

The only good thing is then he was so upset that he took a 2 1/2 hour nap which was just what we needed!

I haven't had the stomach bug since I can remember.  I am sure that I had it as a child, but I don't remember it.  The only other times I have thrown up is with pregnancy or the flu.  The stomach bug was horrible and I was miserable.  I am so glad it didn't last long and my family has been spared.

Here is a picture my mom shared with me on Facebook. Her message said "be sure to show this to Kyle. Could be your family!!"

I showed it to Kyle at 6 this morning and he just groaned and I laughed.  Can you imagine how tough that little girl will be!?!

36 weeks!

How Far Along: 36 weeks along or 90% through!! 28 days until Casen's due date!

Size of baby: Casen is the size of a large cantaloupe (19 to 22 inches and 6 lbs)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 24.6 lbs due to illness (see below).  I am sure I will make up for it this week.
Maternity Clothes: Yes

Gender: Sweet boy Casen Andrew!

Movement: Yes

Sleep: Still flipping from hip to hip and peeing once or twice in the night.

Cravings: I can't remember specific cravings right now.  I know I ate two pickles because Cooper requested them and I decided that sounded good.
Symptoms: BHs and some back and hip pain at the end of the day.
Best Moment this week: Finishing up another week and looking forward to weekly doctor appointments.

Hardest Moment this week: Saturday night I was hit with a horrible stomach bug.  It was a very tough 24 hours. I dealt with A LOT of contractions through Saturday night and Sunday.  Likely to me being hungry and dehydrated so I tried to manage the best I could.  Things have just been tough around our house lately, but hopefully it all gets straightened out before Casen gets here.

Next Appointment: Today!  I think the doctor will do a physical exam for progress so I will am eager to see if there is any.  The funny thing is with all of the craziness in our lives I actually wouldn't mind if Casen is a week late, but we will just see what he has planned.

They already scheduled my remaining appointments! Crazy!!!
4/22 11:40
5/6 11:20
5/13 11:20
5/20 11:20
5/29 11:20

36 week post with Cooper...Yeesh I sounded miserable!

**Update**

Casen's heart rate was 141 at my appointment and my blood pressure was good.  I am dilated to a 1 but not thinned at all yet. They did my strep B test and also blood work for HIV (which I don't remember having but whatever). Casen isn't making his appearance yet and I am just fine with that.

Trying to breath and count...

I am feeling extremely stressed and emotional today.  I feel like sitting on the floor and crying for my mommy (Cooper does it, why can't I?)

I could write an entire post (or a couple of posts) about all of the things that I am stressing out about.  But honestly I don't want to be that honest.  I really don't want to put it all out here and it would be really long.

So instead I am trying to remember that sign above and just breath.

I have these two amazing blessings in my life.

I can't imagine my life without them.

And one month from today I am expecting my second bundle of joy!  He might look like this with a bruise on his face.

But I do hope he avoids that.

Even though I haven't washed a thing and have so much to do before his arrival, I can't wait for Casen to get here.  I can't wait to hold a baby.  I can't wait to see what Cooper thinks.

I just can't wait to have one more blessing to count!

I can't wait!

1. This week I picked up these cuties thanks to Laura at Annie Mancuso Designs.  Remember me talking about them in this post. They turned out perfect!

I can't wait for Casen to arrive so my boys can wear their matching shirts!!

2. This week has been crazy and I am horribly tired.  Like exhausted! I keep closing my eyes at my desk while typing this.

3. Tuesday night Cooper slept all night in his big boy bed without a peep.  Last night he woke up at least 4 times and each time wanted his mommy only.  I am really hoping tonight goes better because he was doing so well.

4. Today my company has their catered lunch and it is being catered by Babe's! Yay! I am really looking forward to it.

5. Yesterday it was in the 80s and today it is supposed to be in the 40s...seriously?!? It is May 2nd!!

6. I noticed this morning that I have had over 50,000 page views on my blog! That is so exciting!!

7. I don't think Casen has dropped but the past two days his position has created more pressure. Not horrible pain just a little uncomfortable.

8. My sister Melisa is down to 14 days until her due date! I can't wait for sweet Tinsley to make her arrival!

9. I am considering buying a baby doll for Cooper.  I have noticed him giving Elmo hugs and kisses and thought it might be nice to get him a baby.  But then again I am not so sure.

10. Sorry for a boring post, but this was as good as I could do with the amount of energy I have right now.
