2 days in a row! Really!?!

What a day part 2!?!

Yesterday was another stressful day and you know what's funny is that despite all of the craziness lately I just don't care.  I keep telling myself that things will work out and I am just waiting for Casen to arrive!  It is stressful in the moment but really isn't getting my down overall.

Yesterday we had some major issues at work with the group that I work with.  We had a deadline and nothing was going right to meet the deadline.  None of it was my fault, but I had to be there until it was resolved.  I did not leave work until 8pm last night and I got to work at 7am!

To say it was a long day is an understatement!

But I got home to a freshly bathed and fed little boy that was oh so sweet. Thanks to my amazing and understanding husband.

We were reading a book before bed and he stopped and said "I kiss Casen?' and I of course said yes.  He gave Casen several kisses and I was just glowing.  Cooper is so sweet and I can't wait to see what he thinks of his baby brother.

Tonight I am going to take Kyle and Cooper to meet baby Tinsley so it should be fun to see what he thinks.  I have a feeling he will be shy and not really interested.

Cooper saying cheese this morning but he tends to look away when he says it.

Today is my daddy's birthday so we called to tell him that we loved him and happy birthday!

I can't wait to hold sweet Tinsley tonight!!

Baby Update-
I have been having quite a few contractions the past couple of days, I am pretty sure Casen dropped yesterday (based on several coworkers opinions), and I have also had a couple of other things that make me think there is no way Casen is waiting until June 3rd to arrive.  My hope is that he will wait until at least Monday to debut!

What a day!

My sister Melisa was induced yesterday morning.  Sweet Tinsley Michelle was born at 2:22pm.  She weighed 8lbs 1 oz and 20.5 inches. She has lots of dark hair which she gets from our side of the family, but I think she looks like her daddy's side.

I took the afternoon off work and hung out at the hospital for all of the excitement.  Things went very smoothly and I think Melisa had an easy labor and delivery.

Mom and baby are both doing great!

Big sister MacKenzie was getting ready to open her big sister book that we got her. Isn't she adorable?  She is great at smiling for the camera!

On her way to meet her baby sister with her daddy.

The Tobola girls! Mac loved her baby sister right away and wanted to be the only one to hold her!

Me with my sweet niece #4!

Isn't she gorgeous! Love her already!!

This is the picture we got this morning! Love the dark wild hair! I was born with a head full of dark hair that quickly fell out. My dad was the same way.

I can't wait to take Cooper and Kyle to meet her tonight!

Though my day was great it ended pretty crappy.

Kyle called me at 5 telling me to come home because he was locked out of the house.  We had a house showing yesterday (yay) and the people locked the door between the garage and the house. Kyle was driving the old neon and the house keys that were on that ring were used for the realtor box.  His house keys were on his truck key ring which was in the house...

Best part...I don't have a set of keys! We only had two and never had a set made when I got my new car.  It was never an issue because I have a garage door opener!

So I called my realtor asking for the code to the front door to get our key and he didn't answer.  I called the showing company and they said that the type of box we have requires a remote not a code and she couldn't help.  My realtor called back and said he was at least an hour and a half away, but would see if the realtor that messed up could come back.  30 minutes later she called saying she was showing houses in south Fort Worth and unavailable.  Finally at 6:15 or so (after hanging out outside, in the jeep, in the garage, and in my car) we called a locksmith and headed to David and Jen's to chill.

The locksmith came and due to our door having a 'smart lock' or something like that it took special attention.  He was able to get it open but it cost us $160!!!! Are you freaking kidding me!!??? It was too late at that point, but we could have bought a brand new door for that much!!!

Next time this happens (though there won't ever be a next time) Kyle will just drill through the door knob and we will buy another one for probably $10-20 and a lot less time!!

We also plan to have extra keys made as soon as possible.

Finally at 7:45 we were in our house eating Sonic and all ready for bed!!

All I can say is those people better buy our house! HA!

Also, happy 1 month old to my sweet niece #3 Catelyn Michelle!

Weekend Recap

Friday after work we met my mom so that Cooper could have a slumber party at Babi and Grandaddy's.  He fell asleep on the way like this and I thought it was too cute.  He looked so comfy!

That night Grandaddy read him books.

And the next morning he helped my mom and aunts bake homemade cheese rolls. He did a great job because they turned out delicious!

I got this sweet gift from Cooper from day-care!

Saturday morning Kyle and I enjoyed a nice breakfast together, ran errands, and did some cleaning around the house.  Then we went to my cousins house for a cookout and to celebrate Mother's day.  It was a fun afternoon.

Saturday night we went to a going away party for my best friend from college.  Jodi and Corey are moving to England temporarily to work and go on fun adventures.  I think it is awesome but I will miss Jodi like crazy!

Before we left we changed Cooper into his pajamas and he decided to climb into their suitcase!

He also had to walk the stairs just one time!

Saturday was such a fun day but we were all exhausted!

Sunday was another busy day but we had a nice time with Kyle's family.  We spent all afternoon outside playing and visiting.  I never got a picture with Cooper :  ( but I took this one before bed.  Unfortunately it is very blurry as he said 'cheese!'

Last night we were putting away laundry for Casen and Cooper was helping.  I had him pose like this with an outfit he used to wear! So funny and so sad.  I can't believe how big he is now.  It seems like just yesterday he was wearing that onesie!

He thought he had to sit down since mommy was sitting and this picture looks totally awkward and blurry but I had to share! LOL!

This is another picture from Saturday morning but I can't get it to move to the top!

By the way my sister is at the hospital now being induced.  It is killing me not being there.  I plan to go up there later and am already considering a half day! Ha!

Update after doctor appointment

I want to document this so I am doing a second post today.

My doctor's appointment went well.  My blood pressure and weight are fine.  Casen's heart rate was 152 and he was moving a lot!

The entire time I was there I had off and on cramping. I actually woke up this morning with cramping and lower back pain.  I have had contractions also today but nothing consistent.

Well when the doctor checked me I am still only dilated to a 1 but am now 50% thinned.  This was exciting for me because I didn't thin at all with Cooper which is why I had to go into the hospital the night before my induction.

She also said that my 'water is bulging.' This means that my water is in the position to break on its own (which is good but worrisome because where will I be when/if it happens).  She said 'a few good contractions could cause your water to break.'  Of course I have no clue what qualifies as a 'good contraction.'

So all of this shows that Casen is making progress and has a good chance of coming on his own before my due date, but then again you never really know.

Of course just like with Cooper I found out that she will be out of town the week of my due date and she offered to go ahead and induce me the week before if I wanted.  I told her that I would like to go on my own so for now I am not interested.  Of course I also told her that next week I might be begging her to induce me. She said that is fine to just let her know if I decide I want to be induced.  She can induce me as late as May 31st or wait until June 10th when she gets back.  For now we will just see how things progress.

To be honest....I am hopeful that I will go on my own.  I just feel like things are moving along and wouldn't be surprised if I don't make it to my due date.

By the way...I am getting my new niece Tinsley tomorrow! Melisa has decided to be induced tomorrow morning and we are all so excited!!

37 Weeks Along

How Far Along: 37 weeks! 21 days until Casen's due date!

Size of baby: Casen is the size of a watermelon (19 to 22 inches and 6.5 lbs) This estimate doesn't mean anything at this point because Cooper was only 6lbs 4 oz at 39 weeks.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Well last week I lost a pound and I said I would make up for it. Well I was right. I weighed myself this morning and I am at exactly 30 lbs and guess what...I am swelling.

I know it is silly, but I am frustrated with the swelling.  There is nothing I can do about it.  Some people swell and some people don't.  They say it is the weather but I know other people with similar due dates that don't swell like I do.  I am just frustrated because I wanted to stay at 30 pounds of gain this time (gained 40 with Cooper) and that isn't going to happen thanks to the swelling.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Gender: Sweet boy Casen Andrew!

Movement: Yes

Sleep: Pee twice a night now.
Cravings: Sweets, watermelon, chips and queso, a burger and fries....hence the weight gain : )
Symptoms: BHs and sometimes they can be pretty consistent. Some lower back pain.  Now as mentioned above I need to add swelling to the list.  It isn't quite a bad as it was with Cooper yet but it is close.  Yesterday I didn't swell nearly as bad as I did on Friday. I can tell my face is more full also : (  It sucks but I keep telling myself it is temporary and I am almost done!
Best Moment this week: Getting things ready for Casen.  I still have a lot to do, but I am slowly checking things off.  I have also started gathering things for Cooper's 2nd birthday party!
Hardest Moment this week: As mentioned above I am frustrated with the swelling. I was just really hoping I could avoid it this time.
Next Appointment: Today!

4/22 11:40
5/6 11:20
5/13 11:20
5/20 11:20
5/29 11:20

My sister has an appointment this morning and is due on Thursday.  I can't wait for an update and hopefully find out when I am getting my 4th niece!!

Kids say the darnest things!

Cooper talks a lot! Though he is shy at times, overall he is a very chatty little guy and I can't imagine where he gets it from.

I want to document some of the things he says and also share some funny ones.

Some things he says lately-

  • I play bay-ball (I play baseball)
  • My motorcycle (he means tricycle)
  • Manana (banana)
  • Canny (candy)
  • scooze me wanger (excuse me Ranger as he runs the dog over with a toy truck)
  • helicopter, no airplane (he previously called a helicopter an airplane and we said 'no that is a helicopter)- he does this all of the time with something.
  • Muffin, no cookie (same thing saying it is a muffin instead of a cookie)
  • 'tickle me' or 'my back' (he wants us to rub his back)

He knows red, yellow, green, blue, orange, purple, pink, and black.  Sometimes get confused with brown and forgets white.

He counts 1-10 but often skips 7.

He knows square, circle, triangle, star, heart and recently added oval and diamond.

******

Now on to the funny ones.

At the end of bath time Cooper squeezes out his wash cloth, and then hangs it on a little rod. The other night after he hung it up it then fell and he said 'oh shoot' as he picked it up....OOPS he got that from me! Better than 'oh sh*t'!

Recently in the car Cooper yelled what sounded like the F word and I was shocked because I don't use that word.  I look to see what prompted it and notice that he is pointing out the window at a flag.  Since then each morning at day-care he points out the F*cks (because there are two).

Each time I say 'flag' correctly in hopes to change his pronunciation quickly.

Last night I took Cooper on a wagon ride and we had this conversation-

Cooper- Ooh Ooh!! What's that?
Me- That's a hole (an uncovered utility hole in some one's front yard)
Cooper- A hoe?
Me- Yes a hoLLLLLe, it is a hole (trying to pronunciate very clearly)
Cooper- a hoe
We continue down the street
Cooper(yelling) - bye bye hoe!!!

I laughed so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants!

I wonder how many hoes we will see on our next walk?

*****
Tonight Kyle and I are having a date night after we meet my mom to hand off Cooper.  I am really looking forward to a nice night with my husband!!

Nothing to say, but feel the need to blog

25 days until Casen's due date and as excited as I am it still hasn't sunk in.  It seems like just yesterday we were preparing for Cooper and now it is almost time to welcome Casen! I have been ordering some things and trying to prepare, but I haven't really started yet.

My mom is taking Cooper on Friday evening for a slumber party so my plan is to sleep in on Saturday (my goal is to sleep until 8:00 but we will see) and then start going through the boxes of baby stuff and get things ready to wash and set up. I am looking forward to pulling out all of those little clothes and reminiscing about when Cooper wore them.

I also plan to pack my bag, Casen's bag, and Cooper's bag.  Plus a snack bag for the hospital : )

A week from today my 4th niece is due! I can't believe it is already time for her to be here. That being said I wish she was here yesterday! I am so ready to hold a baby and cuddle.

I am also looking forward to reenacting this photo of Mac and Cooper (in the belly) with Tinsley and Casen! I have always loved this picture and I am excited we get to do it again this go round!

When I was going through old posts looking for the picture above I started looking at a lot of old posts.  I came across this one when we came home from the hospital in our Rangers gear!

I have to admit that seeing this sweet bruised face broke my heart and made me tear up. It just reminded me how scary it all was. Part of me wants to say that I never imagined I would have such a cute kiddo after seeing this face. But you know what?  Except for the fleeting thought in the very beginning I never worried what Cooper would look like after seeing his bruise.  I could tell deep down that he had such a sweet face and I trusted the doctors when they said it would go away.

Of course I still never imagined my little boy would be as cute as he is (I know that is bragging, but I am allowed to because I am the mommy!)

Quite a few people have asked me if I am nervous about Casen's arrival and going through labor again.  Honestly, so far I am not.  As it gets closer I might be, but for now I am not worried.  I just figure that Cooper's was so rough that Casen's will feel like a cake walk. Hah! We will see!

My plan is to not be induced and just go on my own.  I hope that means things will go smoothly and quickly : )

Who knows what God's plan is.  You may check this blog in a week and I talk about an induction, but for now the plan is just to wait and see.

Each night I pray for a safe and healthy delivery for all of us. Ultimately it is out of my hands so we will just have to see what Casen's birthday will be and how it goes!
