Weekend Recap

This isn't a very good pic of me but it is a memory all the same.  Cooper asked to cuddle and watch cartoons before bed

Saturday morning he asked me to wear a green shirt because it is his favorite and cuddle

Saturday we went to the mall and he entertained himself with the mirror

Then we had fun making funny faces together while Kyle tried on clothes and had Casen was contained in the dressing room.

Saturday early afternoon MacKenzie and Tinsley came over for a slumber party.  Unfortunately after about an hour we had to take a nap and this girl flipped out.  When I told Melisa she said 'hold her hand and she will be out in 8 minutes'

I sent this picture after 7 minutes....but then I let go of her hand which was a big mistake!!

All the kids took a good nap and I took a much needed one as well. Then the girls did a little driving and I showed Melisa a peek at life in about 12 years!

Then Mac decided Cooper was a better driver and he took her all around.

I took the littles inside for a snack. It is always entertaining to watch these two work on sharing. And I love Casen wearing Cooper's new watch.

Then they did some reading

Then I took the littles to pick up pizza and they had so much fun

And bath time

We had a very rough night. Between my boys being sick and Tinsley sleeping away from home it was a long night, but that's okay because we don't do it every day.

I caught Casen mid-sentence but he wasn't as mad as he looks.

Ranger wouldn't leave Tinsley alone and she kept fussing so Casen took it upon himself out to take care of Ranger.

And Ranger listened! It was adorable!

This day was Mac's actual birthday so I put candles in her cinnamon roll

Love this girl

Then I took the littles to church while the bigs stayed with Kyle.  I couldn't do all 4.

They did so good in church and we stopped for a picture at the fountain

Then that afternoon it was time to celebrate Mac's birthday at a local park.  It was windy but otherwise the weather was perfect and everyone had a great time. This is the only pic I took with my phone because I was out of memory. Sorry Mac

After the party I took the boys to play at the neighbors house while we visited and Kyle went for a run.  Then despite the overly tired kids we made the mistake of going to dinner (which wasn't too bad) and then going to the grocery store.  Now I remember why I usually go during their nap time! Exhausting!

We had a pretty good weekend but I was definitely exhausted.

I am LIVID!!

I was supposed to work from home today because the service tech was going to fix our ice maker between 8-12. It is under warranty so it wasn't going to cost us anything.  Last night I realized that I left my ID at work which is required to login to my computer.  I HAD to do something this morning so I had to be able to access my computer.  So like a normal day I headed up to work and got there around 7:30 (in jeans and a tshirt in the pouring rain) to get my ID card and go back home.

I got back home and waited for the service guy.  He was supposed to call 30 minutes ahead of time. At 11 I called the service company to make sure I had the correct date and time and they confirmed my appointment.  I said that I hadn't heard anything and he said 'the technician has all the way until 12 to show up.' I said okay.

11:45 no 30 minute heads up and no technician either so I call again.  This time the woman says she put in a call to the dispatcher to get information on where the tech was and will let me know.  Never heard back.

Finally at 12:15 I left the house to go back to work for a training session from 1:30-3:30. On the way to work I called them back and told them I needed to reschedule because the guy never showed up.  They apologized but they offered nothing, and what would they offer? I didn't pay anything so they can't knock $100 off of my bill.  So now they are coming on the 27th between 12-5.  That is after I asked if they had an evening appointment or weekend appointment and the guy told me that he had next Wednesday 12-5...umm that isn't after 5!  Then I repeated myself and he said he had next Friday 12-5...SERIOUSLY!! Finally he got me a weekend appointment.

I am just beyond frustrated.  There is nothing I can do but get over it, but I am tired, cranky, pissed, trying not to cry.  I will get over it, but for now I am venting to you all.

Happy Freaking Hump Day!

This week

Monday evening Casen decided to hide his food in his lap instead of eating it!  And also style his hair which is super fun to clean up. This boy is such a mess and keeps me on my toes.  Good thing he is cute.

I painted my toes with my new polish from Melisa for the TCU baseball game on Tuesday.

Tuesday we dressed in our purple for game day. I love these boys so much. I am glad Cooper was excited to wear his purple and take a picture with me this time.

Tuesday was a rough day where things just didn't go my way and it has continued to this morning.

The quick list-
Dog poop in kennel (two days in a row)
Party City not having enough invites
Forgot work stuff at home
Working from home today for our ice maker to get fixed
But first drove to work and back to get something I needed
Raining cats and dogs
Missing my momma and daddy

But this morning I found this adorable sight and just loved it.  He is obsessed with flips flops now and wanted to wear them after bath.  I knew he wanted to wear them to bed so I let him  Then he added gloves!

If anyone wants to take me to Josh Abott at Lonestar Park on Friday I would say yes.  Or maybe a Ranger game. Or heck all the way to Omaha to support the Horned Frogs.

For now I will get back to working from home as I wait for the service people to show up and fix my ice maker! I hate the 8-12 window! And I have a training I need to attend at 1:30!!

TGIF

I mentioned yesterday that this week has been rough and I guess we decided to end it with a bang.  Last night around 12:15 Casen woke up crying which he never does.  I waited to see if he would stop and he did but then started back up at 12:30.  As I walked across the house to his room Cooper said something to me.  He was sitting on the couch in the dark!  He said he was coughing and his ear hurt so he got the boo boo bunny.  I said that was okay but he needed to go back to bed.  All while trying to figure out if I had peed my pants because he scared the crap out of me.

I settled Casen down and when back to bed. Shortly after Cooper was crying from a coughing fit and came to our room.  I got him some water and sat on the couch for a few minutes before I took him back to bed.  Within 2 minutes he was back in our room so I went back and laid down with him.  The coughing continued so I rubbed some vicks on his chest and gave him some Tylenol.  He mentioned again that his ear hurt.  I also was back up with Casen twice somewhere in there.  I finally went back to my bed for good around 3 something.

At 4 Ranger was barking to go outside and I slept the rest of the time on the couch because I didn't want to keep Kyle up.

Today is the first splash day of the summer at school.  When I got Cooper up he was very moody but no complaints of his ear.  He insisted that he did not want to do splash day and wanted to wear regular clothes.  This was frustrating for me because the rule is they go dressed for splash day and then change afterwards so I knew he needed to be dressed.  And I knew he would change his mind when he got there and all of his friends were doing it. I didn't want to fight him now but I also didn't want his teachers to deal with the fight.

I was so unsure what to do that I called both of my sisters.  I finally decided to send him in regular clothes but write a note to the teacher explaining what was going on.  I sent his splash day clothes so if he changed his mind and they were willing to change him they could.  But if they didn't want to then he would have to live with the consequences.

I put Casen in Cooper's old swimsuit and he just loved it.  He couldn't get over his flip flops and kept touching them.  He also insisted on a hat.

As soon as I got Cooper out of the car we had this conversation

C- Mommy, do you have my splash clothes?
M- (thinking carefully) Cooper, do you want to do splash day?
C- I just want to change into my splash clothes right before we go outside.
M- The rule is that you have to wear your splash clothes to school and be ready to go outside so the teachers don't have to change you.
C- But I don't want to. (long pause) I don't want them to make fun of me.
M- Cooper, no one is going to make fun of you.  All of the kids will have on their swimsuits for splash day.
C- But mommy, I don't want them to laugh at me.
M- Let's go inside and see all of the kids.

We went inside and there weren't many kids there but two boys had on their swimsuits.  I finally convinced him to change.  After we changed he said 'I just want to walk right behind you'.  I have no clue why he was so self conscious about being in his swimsuit, but it shocked me.  And honestly I had tears in my eyes, but tried not to read into it.  Cooper is definitely my sensitive, emotional one.  I worry if he feels this was at almost 4 what things will be like in years to come.  But really all I can do is pray and try to help him work through these fears.

As you can see they were all smiles by the time I left.

Then as I left I panicked that Cooper couldn't do splash day without shoes.  I sent a message to a friend and asked if they had an extra pair of flip flops, I sent a facebook message to one of the directors at day-care, all while driving to walmart to find something.  I am the mom who hasn't bought my kid flip flops yet so he has no water friendly shoes.  I got to Walmart and there were no shoes for his size.  I finally found one pair of flips flops with horrible skull and cross bones (I hate skulls and do not put them on my kiddos).  They were $2.58 so I sucked it up and got them.  As I got to my car my friend got back and said yes she had flip flops and had Cooper covered.  I was so thankful because it would have take another 20 minutes into my day to run the shoes to day-care and head to work.  I was already late as it was.

So hopefully the flip flops fit and both boys have a successful splash day.  I am exhausted and thinking about a nap at lunch. Sorry for any errors because I don't feel like editing this post.

Randoms

Monday morning this is how I found Casen in bed.  I just love it!

Tuesday morning we wore our purple after a Horned Frog win.

Someone wasn't in the picture taking mood

Someone got the memo that two year olds love to throw fits and he is fulfilling that role

This is how I found him Wednesday morning

We had some meltdowns Wednesday morning.  Cooper has a cough and Casen's allergies are killing him so neither boys have had a great week.

I have been drinking these meal replacement drinks and I love them.  They are very yummy! This one tastes like a melted chocolate shake from Whataburger.  And the French Vanilla is even better.

Yesterday we got out Casen's play lawn mower and he got a little work done

Cooper loves being outside but he was so busy that he was beat red.  He was covered in sunscreen so no sunburn.

This morning he woke up early and cuddled on the couch with me

This week has been very busy and tough as we adapt to a new/possibly temporary schedule.  We are ready for the weekend.

Weekend Recap

Friday night Kyle needed to mow so the boys and I played outside a little and then played with Casen's new present.  He got this in the mail from Mrs. Jamie.

Saturday Grandaddy came over to help us level our lot so we spent a lot of time outside. The boys had their mud boots and sunscreen on and were ready to get after it.

This boy was so excited to be in the driver's seat.

Grandaddy let the boys help a little too.

The lot looks a lot better but unfortunately it was still wet and needs to dry out some more.  I even put on some crummy clothes and helped gather up limbs from the piles. I also got bit by two fire ants!

Saturday afternoon we headed to the FW area and went by Academy.  Casen and I were wearing our TCU gear to support our Horned Frogs.

Then we went to dinner with Kyle's family and from there the boys went to Mimi and Grandpa's to spend the night.

Then Kyle and I headed to the mall to do some shopping.  Kyle got a new position at work that requires him to dress up in business casual.  Before he wore jeans, t-shirt, sneakers, and a baseball hat! Quite a change, but he can pull it off. This pose was for me to send to my mom! Ha!

Sunday morning we headed to the Down and Dirty Mud Run

Tiffany and Jeff signed up too so it was fun

Nice and clean before the race

And then after!!! They made sure it ended with a mud pit! The mud was everywhere. I can't believe how muddy we ended up getting.

Here is an action shot of Tiffany and Kyle.

Our group shot

We had so much fun running with them.  I am so glad that we made such great friends through Cooper

When I got done with my race I checked my phone and had missed some fun texts between my family.  I had sent them the selfie Kyle and I took saying 'headed to the mud run'

So my mom sent this one as they headed to breakfast

Then Melisa and Trent headed to the beach

Then John and Angela headed to do laundry

Do I have the best family or what?  I just love them all!

After the race we stopped for Whataburger.  We were hoping to try the new Root Beer Shake but their shake machine was broken!  Bummer!

We also got some fun pictures of the boys at the park.

Then they moved on to park #2

And even park #3!! The boys loved feeding the duck and Cooper said the ducks like goldfish too.  I bet Mimi and Grandpa needed a nap after all of that fun.

We picked the boys up at 1 and then headed to Ennis for a yummy late lunch at my Granny and Papa's. We had the best ribs I have ever eaten (though I don't eat ribs often).  The meat just fell right off the bone as you can tell by the picture.  They were so good.

After lunch we played a game of Canasta.  Granny and I won! Even with all of the table talk going on by the other team (Joan Johnson)

While I was there I got my goodies from Melisa.  I told her I needed new nail polish because all of mine is super old (high school) and drying up.  Melisa just picks up the cheap stuff from Dollar Tree so I told her to pick some out for me next time she went. Now I need to paint my toes!

We had a really fun weekend but were all exhausted by the end of it.
