Randoms

I am trying to get caught up because once again I fell behind on my blog. Work has been crazy and I have been sick, but now I am better.

Here is a picture my sister took when our house was being framed a couple of weeks ago.

One night I took Riley to get groomed and Cooper joined me.  We took our time walking around the pet store checking out all the rodents and fish.

One day I was browsing in Ross and saw these two similar pieces and thought they were cute.  I am anxious to start picking out things for the new house but am practicing self control.

This little guy loves to be outside and wanted to go out with the dogs.  So close!

Please ignore the smile on his face.  He was supposed to be in his first time out!

Cooper was with Babi and Casen got to go shopping with us. I loved him in those little wind pants.

Selfie with mommy

Photo bombed!

I got these cute TCU yoga pants for $8 and I got Melisa a pair.

Entertaining himself with Daddy's hat.  He was a good sport while we shopped some good sales.

I tried the malt shoppe ice cream. I was disappointed.  It was just okay.

Kyle and I went to checkout the house after the framing was done.

Below is a view from out living room out to the patio and backyard.

I saw this cute dress at Loft.  I wish it was on sale because I won't spend $69.50.  I only buy stuff at Loft on clearance.  This day I found a pair of dress pants for $5!!

My aunt shared this cute goodie from this PTO group that I saved on my phone for a cute idea.

There are just some of the many random photos I take.

I hope everyone is having a great day and my momma is have a wonderful birthday!  Happy birthday!!

Soccer Week 3

It is time to talk about week 3 which was just this Saturday.

Wow!  I keep hoping that it is going to get better and Cooper will warm up.  It hasn't happened.  I still have to beg, plead, bribe, carry, and drag my child onto the field.  I am so tempted to quit but I just can't.  It is our job to expose him to these different activities so that he can figure out what he likes.  After this season he may swear soccer off for life, but I suspect it is just tough being three and it really will get better.

Cooper is absolutely adorable in his uniform and he likes to get the ball on his terms.  But kicking it on demand and chasing the ball around the field in no way interests him.  Of course I am the mom that is going to find some way to get him on the field at least once therefore I have tried all of the methods previously mentioned.

Honestly soccer is super stressful for me.  It is about 5% fun and 95% not fun.  I find myself being the pushy mom that won't take no for an answer.  I am not willing to just let him sit and watch the entire game.  I wish I was the glowing mom that just relaxed and watched with pride.  Maybe next year.

This week we played the Crayons! Unfortunately this was our first loss of the season though I don't know the final score.  Last week were the Soccer Avengers and the week before the Ninjas.

This week Coach Matt resorted to carrying him like a foosball player....it didn't go well.

Later he was okay with hand holding, but it didn't last long.

Casen was entertained with Daddy playing on the pull up bars and monkey bars.  My sister caught this picture and I didn't even see it.  Casen would just hang there and Kyle would let go while waiting to catch him.  Isn't it adorable? Love that little monkey.

MacKenzie got a turn too. Notice sweet #9 (Aiden) running to get his turn...No wonder Cooper doesn't want to play soccer.

Sweet Aiden won the medal this week for a positive attitude.

I tried to really emphasize the cool medal and sure enough Cooper said 'I want a medal'.  I explained how he can try to get a medal next week by not crying and playing well.  We will see if that helps motivate.

Honestly this kid just comes for the juice box.  After one trip on the field he said 'I am ready for my juice box.'

Before the game this week I told Cooper that if he played soccer with no whining we would get ice cream after our nap.  On the way home I told him we weren't going to get ice cream because he had whined at his game.  When Cooper woke up from nap the first thing he asked was 'are we going to get ice cream.' I gently reminded him that we weren't this week but next week we would try soccer again and he could try to get ice cream.  I was really disappointed because I wanted ice cream too!

This week Aunt Lusa, Mac Mac, Tinsley, Babi, Mimi, and Grandpa all attended the game.

Soccer Week 2

Week 2 of soccer was another adventure. This week we finally came up with a team name.  We are the Firecrackers!!  To be honest I am the only one who made suggestions of Tornadoes, Hurricanes, and Fireworks.  And to be honest the kids had no opinion so the coach picked the Firecrackers. This name is much better than the two suggestions in Week 1 from the kids 'working together' or 'soccer.'

Blaine was excited to see Cooper on the field and don't the coaches look excited to be there?

Cooper was willing to 'give five' which is a huge improvement!

Cooper was anxious to start the game and I got excited thinking this might be a turning point.

And after kick off this is where Cooper was.

Just watching from a safe distance.

Jeff giving Aiden a pep talk to get him out there.  We have a lot of these with our two boys.  Also a lot of chasing and begging.

Coach Matt is awesome.  He is a father of 3 and willing to do whatever to help us get our kiddos out there.  We really appreciate it.

Aiden's turn to get help out on the field.

Poor Coach Matt.  Cooper was DONE at this point!

Even Mimi tried going out there with him, but he was still done.

Aiden warmed up and had a great time in the last quarter of the game.

We ended up winning thanks to a couple stars on our team.  We are just happy to get Cooper to stand on the field.

*I forgot to mention that Mimi, Grandpa, Uncle Tyler, Aunt Shari, and Uncle Ron all attended this game.

Prayers for tomorrow

I haven't blogged this week because I have been sick with what I thought was a sinus infection, but was actually strep.

Tomorrow is Casen's ABR (auditory brainstem response) test (read more here).  I thought it might get cancelled because he has been dealing with a runny nose for about a week. However I spoke to the doctor's office and said that we could still do the test.  I am not sure if I am happy or sad.  I am so ready to have this over with and have more information.  But I am also very scared of what they could tell us and of him going through the test sedated.

Then the anesthesiologist called this evening to talk about tomorrow and I nearly burst into tears on the phone.  She said, like with tubes, Casen would get a mask to fall asleep.  However because this is a longer procedure he would then need an IV and breathing tube.  It took everything in me not to cry at the words breathing tube.  That just sounds much riskier and serious.

Now I am a ball of nerves and so anxious.  I would really appreciate your prayers.

Specific prayer requests-
1. That they start his procedure as fast as possible with no delays.  Casen can't have anything to eat or drink before his procedure and that was the most difficult part of him getting tubes. We were delayed by a prior procedure and my poor boy just didn't understand why he couldn't have water.
2. That Casen handle the anesthesia well both going under and coming out of it.
3. That the audiologist gets accurate results whether positive or negative news.
4. To calm my nerves and anxiety before and during the procedure.
5. Pray for complete hearing of my sweet boy. My gut tells me they will confirm some hearing loss, but I still pray that he was just being stubborn during his prior tests and has perfect hearing.
6. If he does have hearing loss please pray that we determine what next steps are best for Casen.

We have to be at the hospital at 7:15am, but they don't give us an actual start time.  Once the procedure starts it will last 45-60 minutes and then we will see him in recovery.  My friend Jen is going with me to help wrangle and distract our busy boy before the procedure.  I have already warned her that I will be an emotional mess.

Thank you all in advance for your prayers.
