15 weeks along

Jun 12th

How Far Along: 15 Weeks (35% done!) Officially in the 2nd trimester now

Size of baby: Orange (4.5 inches long)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: .5 down

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing normal clothes so far but by the end of the day I have a bump

Gender: Guessing boy but we will find out July 3rd (21 sleeps!!)

Movement: I suspect I am feeling flutters but I doubt myself

Sleep: Still not sleeping great and sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with really bad nausea. One night I was up for almost 3 hours. The doctor suggested I take Benadryl and see if that helps.

What I miss: sleeping well

Cravings: Chipotle, Rosa’s taco plate (still haven’t gotten it yet), jalapeno cream cheese. Basically I eat a good breakfast, snacks, and lunch and then hardly eat anything the rest of the day. Nothing sounds good in the evenings.

Symptoms: Still tired/restless sleep and dealing with nausea in the evenings

Best Moment this week: Getting to hear the strong little heartbeat yesterday at 141 bpm.

Hardest Moment this week: Yesterday I caved and got the genetic testing at the doctor’s office which will check for down syndrome. It will also tell us the gender of the baby in one week. This test is great but most of the time insurance doesn’t cover it. Therefore it will cost about $300. And I already paid for a sonogram in 3 weeks to find out the gender. Plus if I was going to do this I should have done it at 10 weeks and I would have known the gender then! Kind of annoyed with myself and confused what to do. Do I let the nurse tell me the gender over the phone? Do I have them put it in an envelope so Kyle and I can find out together? Do we open it right away or wait until July 3rd so we don’t spill the beans before the gender reveal? AHHHH

I can't wait: For the blood test results to confirm a healthy C3PO! Next dr appt is July 9th.

14 weeks along

Jun 5th

How Far Along: 14 Weeks (35% done!) Officially in the 2nd trimester now

Size of baby: Lemon (3 inches long)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: .5 up

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing normal clothes so far but by the end of the day I have a bump

Gender: Guessing boy but we will find out July 3rd (28 sleeps!!)

Movement: Still early but sometimes when I am laying down I try to see if I feel flutters

Sleep: Sleep is still very restless and was downright crummy last night. I finally moved to the couch about 1am so I wouldn’t disturb Kyle. I have noticed I have more energy in the mornings and not so dead tired. But man I wish I could take a nap every day still.

What I miss: having energy because I am still so darn tired.

Cravings: Nectarines, jalapeno cream cheese on ritz crackers, not sure what else

Symptoms: Still tired, nausea was less last week and didn’t take Zofran so it is manageable. I would still say evenings are worse than mornings.

Best Moment this week: Spending the weekend with Kyle’s family at the cabin. It is such a sweet and simple time, though very hot this year.

Hardest Moment this week: I would say restless sleep but nothing major

I can't wait: For my doctor’s appointment next week and for my best friend to have good doctor appointments with a wonderful ending.

13 weeks along

May 29th

How Far Along: 13 Weeks

Size of baby: Peach (3 inches long)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: -0.5 down

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing normal clothes so far but by the end of the day I look quite pudgy

Gender: Guessing boy but we will find out July 3rd

Movement: not yet

Sleep: Still not sleeping well. Last week I was goldilocks trying all of the beds in the house. I didn’t find one that was ‘just right’

What I miss: having energy

Cravings: Bagels (I had the best bagel last week at work and I have no clue where it came from. It was in a donut box with no label), nectarines (found some on Sunday at the grocery store!), Babe’s (Kyle and I satisfied that on Sunday evening
J )

Symptoms: So tired and still dealing with nausea. Some days are better than others. Some days I take Zofran and some I don’t. Still miss the regularity in the restroom (yes, TMI) and my skin is so broken out right now
L

Best Moment this week: Hmm I am not sure. It wasn’t a very eventful week.

Hardest Moment this week: Not sleeping well.

I can't wait: to have another doctor’s appointment. It feels like forever ago since my last one. I won’t get a sono but at least I can hear the heartbeat. I am feeling nervous lately about checking on the baby. I also get nervous wondering if the baby is healthy. I know those are common fears, but my next appointment isn’t until June 11th.

12 weeks along

May 22nd

How Far Along: 12 Weeks

Size of baby: Large plum (2.5 inches)…now I want a plum

Total Weight Gain/Loss: -1.0 down

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing normal clothes so far but by the end of the day I look quite pudgy

Gender: Guessing boy

Movement: not yet

Sleep: Sleeping like poo

What I miss: caffeine and good sleep

Cravings: we bought green grapes last week and they were so yummy. I also saw blue bell chocolate chip ice cream and couldn’t resist (though it ended up tasting different than I remember). Still loving spicy food but not flamin hot chips. I love bagels with cream cheese in the morning and waffles (carbs
J ) and I have been looking for nectarines in the store.

Symptoms: Fatigue and nausea. Still take half a Zofran most evenings but some evenings I skip it. I would say I feel best in the mornings when it comes to nausea. In the afternoon is when I start feeling nauseous and have to take medicine. Thursday night I had really bad stomach cramps and was sick that night. I think it was a stomach bug though because it wasn’t typical nausea.

Best Moment this week: Telling work. So many people were thrilled but shocked. Up until a year or so ago people still regularly said ‘its time to try for your girl.’ But that has slowed down and people thought we were done. But they are so excited for us and can’t wait to hear what we are having. In fact my old boss John made a bet with Lisa on the gender. Lisa said girl and I tried to convince her not to take the bet. I think John will win that one.

I was nervous about telling my current boss and how it would impact that role I am in right now, but it went well and I feel less nervous about taking a long maternity leave.  I took 12 weeks with both boys (half unpaid) but thanks to a new policy at work I can take 14 and they are all paid. Sign me up! I can’t wait to snuggle up for 14 weeks with my little peanut.

After sharing with work I also shared the news on Facebook. We got a lot of sweet notes and congrats.

Hardest Moment this week: Nothing bad except the stomach bug.

I can't wait: to experience all of pregnancy again. Feeling the little kicks, finding out the gender, having a sweet little bump, Kyle feeling the kicks, and seriously can’t wait for my boys to feel it and see it. Then I will be ginormous and miserable but at least it won’t be summer this time.

Oh and funny naming the baby story. I like a first name that is a little different and a traditional family name for the middle name (Cooper Scott, Casen Andrew). The middle names for this one are planned to be Marie for a girl and either John or William for a boy after Kyle’s maternal grandfather.  I mentioned that to my mother in law and she said ‘JW stands for John Warren’….Umm what?? I always thought it was William. In fact I quizzed Kyle and he said ‘John William’ BEEEEEP wrong! So now I know why I thought it was William. And though there is nothing wrong with Warren, I don’t feel like it is very easy to say. So now it looks like the middle name will be John or a different family name. We shall see.

5/16/18 I was laying with Casen to fall asleep and my stomach growled Casen said ‘was that your baby!?!’ I couldn’t stop laughing
Also that night-
Casen- why do you eat a lot? You eat a lot and then you have a baby. Daddy eats a lot and he have a baby too.
Me- I don’t think it will work that way
Casen- I hope Daddy has a boy baby and mommy has a girl baby and then we have two babies!!
He wants a baby brother and sister so bad he is getting creative.

5/20/18 I was laying in bed with Cooper and he said ‘I already know we are having a boy. I can see our future and we are having a boy on December 1st.’

Current names-

·         Camden

11 weeks along

May 15th
How Far Along: 11 Weeks

Size of baby: Lime (2 inches)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1.0 lb

Maternity Clothes: I will be going through the maternity bins this weekend to see what I have and what I need.

Gender: Still thinking boy. I even say ‘he’ or ‘him’

Movement: not yet

Sleep: Still not sleeping great and waking up once a night to pee.

What I miss: caffeine

Cravings: Still chipotle, potbelly, ice cream, chocolate chip muffins, spicy crackers. Crazy as it sounds Flamin hot chips haven’t been top of my list lately. I have been around them and just don’t pick them up. I think it was the same with Casen during this part of the pregnancy

Symptoms: Fatigue and nausea. Still take half a Zofran every evening but some evenings I skip it.

Best Moment this week: Yesterday I had a dr appt and sono to check growth and confirm due date. The due date is officially 12-4-18. The heartrate was 162. The appointment was very fast because the doctor got a call she needed to take (which is frustrating but not surprising). My next appointment is June 11th and the gender sonogram is July 23rd. This is later than we would like so Kyle and I will have to decide if we want to pay for a sonogram about 3 weeks earlier so we can do a 4th of July gender reveal.

As soon as I picked up the boys yesterday I showed them the picture. Cooper said ‘did they do an xray to see him?’ And I said yes, it is similar to an xray. He looked at the picture and pointed out everything he saw (my tummy, the baby, the baby’s head) and then I showed them the hand and foot.

Last night Cooper and I were talking in bed about the baby and I showed him a video on my pregnancy app of the baby. He said it looked like an alien and I couldn’t disagree. Casen thought it was so funny looking. Then I told Cooper he could watch tv and just hold the baby and he said ‘I know a lullaby, rockabye baby….’ Melted this momma’s heart. He is going to be such a sweet big brother.

Hardest Moment this week: The week was good overall.

I can't wait: to tell my boss the news. Actually I can wait because it means I will miss the end of the big project I am on which is my most important part and I don’t want to tell him. But I can’t wait because I am ready to tell friends and the Facebook world. I know my family is excited to share the news as well.

5/11/18 I was laying in bed that Friday evening before the boys got home. Cooper walked in and said ‘momma, why are you laying down? Is C3PO coming now?’  Ha if only it was that easy!

10 weeks

May 8th

How Far Along: 10 Weeks

Size of baby: Prune (1.5 inches)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: .5 lb - I started feeling better so I am not eating as much to help the nausea and I went to the gym twice in the last week.

Maternity Clothes: not yet but I did get the boxes from my sister. This will be interesting because I am pregnant in opposite seasons than with the first two and my sister’s 3 kiddos.

Gender: Right now I still think boy. I am not as sick as I was with the boys but overall I feel like this feels the same.

Movement: not yet

Sleep: Still not sleeping great and waking up once a night to pee.

What I miss: caffeine

Cravings: Chipotle, Mexican food, potbelly, sour candy. I actually woke up at 6am Saturday morning and told Kyle we should have brunch at tio tony’s because I wanted a chorizo burrito with chips and queso.

Symptoms: Fatigue and nausea. Still take half a Zofran every evening. And I don’t get to work until nearly 8 every day because I am so tired in the mornings.

Best Moment this week: We told the boys Friday night and I videoed it. The boys were rowdy and wrestling the whole video. Not how I pictured the video going but it is real life. Saturday we went to NRH and Casen wore a shirt that said #middlechildprobs  I loved this idea but in hindsight it was a stretch to ask our parents to figure out hashtags. Larry and Tyler were there but were distracted with a project and didn’t noticed the shirt. Susan showed up and ended up seeing it. It took her a sec to catch on but she was excited. Then we told Casen to go tell Grandpa we were having a baby and he still didn’t get it so we had to help. They were excited and I think pretty surprised. They probably figured we were done with the two boys.

Saturday afternoon we drove to Ennis to tell my parents (A LOT OF DRIVING IN ONE DAY) and it was about the same. My mom was distracted and didn’t notice the shirt. Finally my dad noticed and read it but didn’t understand it. But my mom heard and figured it out. They are thrilled to have 8 grandchildren. Then I sent the text to my sisters and they got it right away. They were thrilled. Angela and her family will come to Texas again for Christmas this year so they will get to meet baby very soon after the birth.

Then I sent the text to the girls on my side of the family and again no one noticed what the shirt said for quite a while. After that we explained it as ‘Casen is getting promoted to middle child in December’ with the picture.

Hardest Moment this week: Can’t really think of anything this week

I can't wait: to see baby C3PO on Monday at my sonogram. We started saying C3 and I immediately thought of C3PO. Then Melisa said the same thing when she heard the news so I started calling him that this week. Not sure if it will stick but it fits with my boys Star Wars obsession.
Casen watching the guys work and not notice his shirt

He loved getting to be the announcement but he also wasn't in your face saying looking at my shirt.  It was kind of like the boys forgot after we told them. Or like it was no big deal. Ha!

9 Weeks Along

May 1st

How Far Along: 9 Weeks

Size of baby: Green olive (1 inch)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1.5 lb because I eat all of the time to try to avoid being nauseous

Maternity Clothes: not yet

Gender: Not sure. We should find out around 4th of July and I would love to do a 4th of July party and reveal it then.

Movement: not yet

Sleep: I started taking Tylenol pm to help me get more sleep and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I still get up and pee once a night every night.

What I miss: My v8 Energy drinks. Caffeine. I’m so tired

Cravings: Last week food didn’t sound as good to me. I feel like my taste buds are off and it makes everything taste off or just not as good. Nothing really satisfies me right now.

This isn’t great for Kyle and the boys because I am not very motivated with dinner lately between nausea and fatigue.

Symptoms: Last week was a really busy week at work so I didn’t get to take any naps. I took Zofran a couple of times. I wasn’t so nauseous I was going to throw up but enough that I don’t feel good. The evenings seem to be worse than the mornings for me so I usually take one in the afternoon. This is also nice because I feel better at home when running around with the boys activities or getting stuff done at home. This is different than with the boys where I always got sick in the mornings.

I have already said if this lasts long I will gain quite a few pounds in my first trimester because I eat often to try to keep the nausea at bay.

The other side effect of pregnancy and worsened with Zofran is constipation. This is totally TMI but I am a regular, every day kind of girl and now I am not. I am not constipated just not going and I don’t like that at all. I feel bloated and full! Ha!

So fatigue and nausea continue with a lack of regularity.

Best Moment this week: Planning to tell the family and the boys. We can’t tell the boys until we are ready for our family and others to know. And we are having a hard time figuring out when we can tell family in person because I don’t want to do it over the phone or text. I really want to do it this weekend but it might make more sense to wait until Mother’s Day weekend. We will have to see if this weekend works out.

Hardest Moment this week: Not sharing the news with people yet. And looking at Casen and realizing that he won’t be my baby anymore. But I look at my boys and think they will be amazing big brothers.

I can't wait: To see how the boys react
