19 Weeks

The only pic I took this week was trying on the dress for Tyler and Katie's wedding to compare shoes. Notice the fireworks for the gender reveal/4th of July party?

July 10th

How Far Along: 19 Weeks (47.5% done!)

Size of baby: tomato (6 inches long, half a pound in weight) 6 inches is a giant tomato

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 3.0 lb

Maternity Clothes: Normal clothes with belly band. I ordered a pair of jeans and leggings from Old Navy.

Gender: It’s a girl!! I still can’t believe it. I can’t wait to see her on the 23rd at our anatomy sono.

Movement: Still just sporadic flutters

Sleep: Still flip from side to side.

What I miss: sleeping on my stomach and back

Cravings: Chipotle, Rosa’s, breakfast tacos, spicy food, blue bell fudge bars (they just released them again since the listeria issue years ago. I am so excited but haven’t made it into Walmart yet to grab some)

Kyle was awesome on Friday. I was craving Rosa’s but didn’t get it on the way home because I thought we were going to go out to eat. But the boys just wanted to stay and eat something at home. Well I might have suggested to Kyle that I really wanted Rosa’s and sure enough he went all the way to Mansfield and got me Rosa’s. Baby girl and I were so happy J

Symptoms: I am feeling good. Some stretching pains if I move to0 quickly, but this was a good week.  I have noticed I often times feel like I have tightness in my lower abdomen. It reminds me of Braxton hicks contractions. They aren’t painful in any way but I notice them. It is possibly a sign that I am not drinking enough water but I am not sure. I am considering calling my doctor’s office to mention it.

Best Moment this week: I am still on cloud nine from the gender reveal. I am shocked to think girl and have started looking for bedding. I also included some cute red white and blue outfits in my old navy order that were marked down. The day after the gender reveal Susan was shopping and sent me a pic of cute girl clothes, the next day my mom was shopping, and my sisters and Jen have started too. Baby girl will be spoiled and blessed.

Originally I had no desire to go through my boy clothes and start giving things away but suddenly I am anxious to look through it all. I want to pull things out that baby girl can still wear (Texas Rangers and TCU stuff), pull a few outfits of the boys for memory keepsakes, and then I plan to share the rest with Kyle’s cousin and a friend of ours expecting a boy in November.

Hardest Moment this week: I had a bit of a scare on Monday at the doctor.  Each time they do a urine test and the nurse came in and said ‘you have medium to large amounts of blood in your urine. Are you noticing symptoms of a UTI like painful urination?’ I hadn’t noticed anything except for peeing often but that is common with pregnancy. She said with that amount of blood I should have been uncomfortable. They would send it to the lab and see what is going on. Well 10 minutes later she comes back and said ‘the doctor wants to do a physical exam and make sure there isn’t any other bleeding or concerns.’ I felt confident things were okay but my heart instantly started racing and my eyes filled with tears. I changed into the gown and said Hail Mary’s until the doctor came in. She did a quick check and confidently said ‘everything looks great so I suspect UTI or kidney stone since you are prone to them.’

When thinking back about the nurses comment about  ‘medium to large amounts of blood’ makes me laugh because I haven’t seen any and when I had my kidney stone right after Casen my urine looked like cranberry juice. So her scale is different than mine.

I can't wait: to actually see baby girl on the 23rd and to pick out a name for her. Right now the front runner is Chloe. I also like Camden and Caroline (which has been nixed because of the sound of Caroline Cline). The middle name is definitely Marie.

Lab results Wednesday or Thursday

Next dr appt is the anatomy sono July 23rd.

Last night Casen came running into my bedroom saying ‘I love you the mostest mommy. And I love baby girl the mostest too’ and then he ran off.

Cooper is unsure about touching my belly or kissing it the way Casen is very affectionate. But this week he touched it once and still prays for C3PO every night.

It's a Girl! 4th of July Gender Reveal

The gender reveal went great. Not perfect because nothing ever is but it was great! We had a great spread of 4th of July themed food. A wives tale quiz to see what gender it indicated (girl) and a names list. Then we went outside to let the kids do some little fireworks until dark. Everyone was very anxious to start the fireworks but I said I wanted it to be dark so we could get a good video for memory and to share with friends and Facebook. Unfortunately the closer to dark the more windy it got. And right as we started getting ready we heard lots of sirens and saw smoke. There was a fire in the neighborhood on the hill next to us. We decided to do the firework anyway because hello it was the reason we were all there. Kyle hid behind a box which was originally there to hide whether he was lighting pink or blue but ended up coming in handy to get the firework actually lit. Then it wouldn’t light and David went to help him while we all anxiously waited. Finally it lit and blew up about 5 -10 feet off the ground! It was pink!!! We were all cheering, screaming, excited and shocked.

I think Kyle and David nearly peed their pants when it went off right above them and then they were stomping out the grass!! We all missed this because we were too busy celebrating. At that point we stopped all fireworks because the wind was just too crazy and seeing what happened with the gender firework scared us on what could happen.

Most of our family thought boy so everyone was pretty shocked it was a girl. I told them I had already known for 4 days and I was still shocked. Casen was so excited to find out he is getting a baby sister and Cooper was disappointed but didn’t cry or anything.  Later they both ran up to me and hugged my belly. They had a fun evening and are excited for the new baby to arrive.

Wednesday morning Casen climbed on the couch next to me and said ‘I just want to check on baby sister (pat my tummy) yep, she’s good’  And I melted.

Thursday morning he ran into daycare telling his teachers he is getting a baby sister.

Ordered this invite from Etsy

The food spread. Jen came over and helped me get everything ready which she did with the other two so it was fun doing it all again.  We had- a flag meat, cheese, and cracker tray, red and blue berries with cool whip, veggies and chips with dip, BBQ klobase, cookies, chickfila nuggets (thanks to Mimi), and a flag oreo ball tray (thanks to Lusa and Babi).

Mimi also brought a basket of popcorn treats for everyone in the basket below the table

Aunt Jen Jen made these shirts for the boys

I filled out the wives tale board

Team Girl

Team Boy

Our sweet family of 4. Jen made my shirt that said red, white, and due.

Jen is the best friend. Kyle and I are so lucky to have David and Jen in our lives.

Doing some of the little kid fireworks until dark

The gender reveal firework blowing up!!

I saw something similar on pinterest so with Jen behind the camera and Susan, my mom, Melisa, and I holding sparklers we created this for the announcement. I was shocked we actually got it to work (thanks to Jen for knowing what to do with camera settings)

18 Weeks Along

July 3rd

How Far Along: 18 Weeks (45% done!)

Size of baby: Sweet potato (5.5 inches long, 5oz)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1.0 lb

Maternity Clothes: Normal clothes but added the belly band to make my pants last longer. I need to buy a few pairs of maternity dress pants. A lot of the ones my sister and I had have been well worn and are outdated. I need to do some Old Navy maternity shopping

Gender: The gender reveal is tonight at our 3rd of July party.  But I actually already know. And so does Kyle.

Movement: flutters. I am so anxious for the boys to feel the baby. It is a while away and I may regret wishing for kicks later.

Sleep: Still flip from side to side.

What I miss: sleeping on my stomach and back

Cravings: Chipotle, Rosa’s, breakfast tacos (like Taco Cabana, Tio Tony’s, not sonic and stuff like that)

Symptoms: I am feeling good. Some stretching pains if I move to quickly, but this was a good week.

Best Moment this week: I opened the envelope Saturday night. I decided that I wanted to know already so I can enjoy watching everyone else react. I especially want to see the boys’ reactions.  Have I mentioned how much fun it is experiencing this pregnancy with the boys? I just love it!

Hardest Moment this week: Not opening that envelope. And then deciding if I wanted to. And now keeping the secret.

I can't wait: For the gender reveal and to start talking names

Next dr appt is July 9th. Anatomy sono with doctor is July 23rd.

17 weeks along

Jun 26th

How Far Along: 17 Weeks (42.5% done!)

Size of baby: Turnip (5 inches long, 5oz)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1.0 above my starting weight
J this is what happens to me every time the nausea starts to subside

Maternity Clothes: normal clothes, mostly dresses

Gender: Guessing boy but we will find out July 3rd (7 sleeps!!). Kyle already knows.

Movement: little flutters

Sleep: Still flip from side to side.

What I miss: sleeping on my stomach and back

Cravings: Chipotle, potbelly (because of the peppers and hot sauce), Rosa’s

Symptoms: some nausea and fatigue but that has gotten better. Not sleeping great and boy do I have a baby bump now!

Best Moment this week: Planning for the gender reveal. We have the envelope and Kyle went to the other room and opened it Friday evening (the day I picked it up from the doctor). He likes having a secret and it is hard for me knowing he knows. Sunday we did our firework shopping for the party.  Before going in to the store I told Kyle he had to be very careful not to give it away since he already knew.  Within 5 minutes he pointed to one for the reveal that only had a blue! And 'I said there isn't a pink! Is that because we don't need it!!' Yeesh!

Hardest Moment this week: Not opening that envelope. I waited until Friday to pick it up and all that was holding it closed was a single piece of tape. But I wasn’t that tempted to open it until Kyle did. Then the struggle was hard.

I can't wait: For the gender reveal and to start talking names

Next dr appt is July 9th. Anatomy sono with doctor is July 23rd.

Trying on my dress for Tyler and Katie's Wedding

Picked up the envelope with the gender

It was staring at me while I was at work but I resisted

16 weeks along

Jun 19th

How Far Along: 16 Weeks (40% done!)

Size of baby: Avocado (4-5 inches long, 3-5oz)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1.0 down

Maternity Clothes: normal clothes, mostly dresses

Gender: Guessing boy but we will find out July 3rd (14 sleeps!!)

Movement: I am feeling some flutters now

Sleep: Still not sleeping soundly, but not horrible. And I am not as tired during the day and in the evenings so that is good.

What I miss: Hmm not sure. I would love to sleep soundly but maybe in about a year.

Cravings: Still Chipotle, Rosa’s taco plate (got it last week), Mexican food in general, spicy food in general. I had some flamin hot fritos yesterday for the first time in a while and they were delicious. I thought about them again on my morning commute
J I am also craving salads with homemade ranch and baked potatoes ever since our cabin trip. I have eaten salads the last two days and brought carrots, cucumbers, and ranch for my snack today.  Overall more salty and spicy cravings that sweet.

Symptoms: Most of my symptoms have gotten better lately. Some nausea, some fatigue, still skin breakouts, but overall not bad.

Best Moment this week: Yesterday I got the call from our doctor that the genetic testing came back normal. It is what I expected but still nice to get confirmation.

Hardest Moment this week: Not finding out the gender when the nurse called. She is putting it in an envelope for me to pick up later this week. I haven’t decided when to get it or when to open it. Kyle is ready to know and I am feeling firm on waiting until the day of the gender reveal. I am also toying with the idea of not finding out ahead of time.

The reveal will be done with a pink or blue firework. I am very tempted to let Kyle handle it and I find out with everyone else. We will see if I can hold out for 14 sleeps.

I can't wait: To know the gender so I can start shopping! If it is a boy we will still need some things for the first year because this one is due in opposite seasons.

Next dr appt is July 9th. Anatomy sono with doctor is July 23rd.

15 weeks along

Jun 12th

How Far Along: 15 Weeks (35% done!) Officially in the 2nd trimester now

Size of baby: Orange (4.5 inches long)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: .5 down

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing normal clothes so far but by the end of the day I have a bump

Gender: Guessing boy but we will find out July 3rd (21 sleeps!!)

Movement: I suspect I am feeling flutters but I doubt myself

Sleep: Still not sleeping great and sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with really bad nausea. One night I was up for almost 3 hours. The doctor suggested I take Benadryl and see if that helps.

What I miss: sleeping well

Cravings: Chipotle, Rosa’s taco plate (still haven’t gotten it yet), jalapeno cream cheese. Basically I eat a good breakfast, snacks, and lunch and then hardly eat anything the rest of the day. Nothing sounds good in the evenings.

Symptoms: Still tired/restless sleep and dealing with nausea in the evenings

Best Moment this week: Getting to hear the strong little heartbeat yesterday at 141 bpm.

Hardest Moment this week: Yesterday I caved and got the genetic testing at the doctor’s office which will check for down syndrome. It will also tell us the gender of the baby in one week. This test is great but most of the time insurance doesn’t cover it. Therefore it will cost about $300. And I already paid for a sonogram in 3 weeks to find out the gender. Plus if I was going to do this I should have done it at 10 weeks and I would have known the gender then! Kind of annoyed with myself and confused what to do. Do I let the nurse tell me the gender over the phone? Do I have them put it in an envelope so Kyle and I can find out together? Do we open it right away or wait until July 3rd so we don’t spill the beans before the gender reveal? AHHHH

I can't wait: For the blood test results to confirm a healthy C3PO! Next dr appt is July 9th.

14 weeks along

Jun 5th

How Far Along: 14 Weeks (35% done!) Officially in the 2nd trimester now

Size of baby: Lemon (3 inches long)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: .5 up

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing normal clothes so far but by the end of the day I have a bump

Gender: Guessing boy but we will find out July 3rd (28 sleeps!!)

Movement: Still early but sometimes when I am laying down I try to see if I feel flutters

Sleep: Sleep is still very restless and was downright crummy last night. I finally moved to the couch about 1am so I wouldn’t disturb Kyle. I have noticed I have more energy in the mornings and not so dead tired. But man I wish I could take a nap every day still.

What I miss: having energy because I am still so darn tired.

Cravings: Nectarines, jalapeno cream cheese on ritz crackers, not sure what else

Symptoms: Still tired, nausea was less last week and didn’t take Zofran so it is manageable. I would still say evenings are worse than mornings.

Best Moment this week: Spending the weekend with Kyle’s family at the cabin. It is such a sweet and simple time, though very hot this year.

Hardest Moment this week: I would say restless sleep but nothing major

I can't wait: For my doctor’s appointment next week and for my best friend to have good doctor appointments with a wonderful ending.
