Cooper's First Thanksgiving!

Thursday we spent the day with Kyle's family.  We had a wonderful time and the food was AMAZING!  Unfortunately Cooper had an accident in his outfit before I had a chance to take a picture.

But here is in napping on Grandpa's lap in outfit #2.

That night Cooper spent the night with Mimi and Grandpa so that we could do some Black Friday shopping.  We tried to start our shopping Thursday night but it was crazy and we ended up going home and going to bed.  The next morning we got up and did some shopping and got some good deals.  Black Friday wasn't as fun this year as it has been in the past and I think it is because we really didn't have the extra money to just by whatever.  I think it will be fun in future years as Cooper has a list and we are buying more specific things.

Friday afternoon we headed to Ennis to spend time with my family.  Cooper wore his "hunting vest" from Aunt Lusa and Uncle Tent.  I thought it was the cutest thing!

We were trying to display the vest in the picture above but he ended up looking scared!

But the picture below is much better!!

We made homemade chili that night and hung out with Mac and my mom.  Cooper hung out in Mac's highchair and was so tired he fell asleep.
Friday night Mac and Cooper didn't sleep great so we were pretty tired the next morning.

But Cooper loved getting to decorate cupcakes with Babi!!

He was pretty good at holding the sprinkles while Babi shook Cooper and the container : )  He is naked because his clothes were in the dryer after another accident!

Here is Mac helping Babi

Saturday we went to my Granny's for a delicious lunch!  Seriously it was sooo good!!

Saturday was also my oldest niece's 3rd birthday.  She is the one in Japan and since we couldn't see her we sent her a little message from the babies.

It was quite interesting trying to get them both to sit still and somewhat happy.  I am sure this is only the beginning since it will only get harder as they get older!

This is the one we sent!

Saturday night we went to a personal shower and bachelorette party for my cousin.  Cooper and Mac went with us to the first part and then stayed with my mom while we went to Dallas.  We went to a drag show and I must say I was nervous/unsure about going.  #1 because I was tired #2 because I can't drink due to BFing #3 because I don't think a drag show is my cup of tea.  But surprisingly we had a great time and it was a lot of fun.  The emcee drag queen was hilarious and though the humor was dirty and inappropriate I couldn't help but laugh!
Sisters!  Too bad Ang couldn't have been there with us!

We didn't get to bed until 2 so once again we were exhausted the next morning.

St. Nicholas came to visit Babi and Grandaddy's house a week early since we won't be there this weekend.

Here is Cooper with his stocking!

Doesn't he look thrilled to dig in!

The ADORABLE onesie!!

And 4 Fisher Price Weebles!  They wobbly around and Cooper enjoyed watching them!

We headed back home later that morning to start laundry and get ready for our week.

It was a wonderful weekend and a great first Thanksgiving with Cooper.  I just wish I had taken more pictures of the actual Thanksgiving part!

Yay!

Today is a busy day and not much time for blogging.  So this is random and most people don't care but I do!

This morning I weighed myself and I am down 3.4 pounds from my starting weight on October 31st.  I had sweets this past weekend but tried not to over do it.  However I love homemade chocolate chip cookies and therefore I am pretty sure I had 8-10 of those over the past 4 days!

Luckily I am not a fan of pie so I don't get sucked in to some of the traditional Thanksgiving foods.  No pumpkin pie, pecan pie, or sweet potatoes for me.

I tried on a pair of brown dress pants this morning that I haven't been able to fit in and I was thrilled to find out they fit now.  They are more snug than I would like, but I was able to buckle them without too much of a muffin top.  I am really excited because before these pants I only fit in 3 pairs of my work pants and one of those pairs are capris so I can't wear them now that it is winter!

Yes I am bragging, but it is my blog and I can do what I want to!!

So yay for 3 pairs of pants now!!  If anyone is counting I have 5.2 pounds still to go to get back to my pre-Cooper weight.  I have 8.2 pounds to get back to my wedding day weight.

Right now life is too hectic for me to commit to something to lose weight so I have no clue when I will get back to my goal weight.  My goal this week is to go running once.  I know it isn't much but it is all about baby steps!

And because I know most of my readers only care about Cooper.  He is a picture of our little cutie in his new fleece camo cap!  LOVE!!  He also has on mittens that he got from his cousin Quinn but you can't really see them in the picture.

Also Cooper scratched himself for the first time near his eye this weekend.  We noticed on Friday when we got to Ennis that his nails needed to be clipped but didn't have any clippers. Sure enough he got himself!  Daddy trimmed his nails last night before bed!

He's Sexy And He Knows It!

Yesterday it took me over an hour to get home.  When there is no traffic it takes me about 19 minutes.  On a normal afternoon about 30-35.  I was not in a good mood by the time I got home.  Luckily I went to the grocery store on my lunch break so I didn't have to stop on my way home.

I am going to make the Vanilla Rich Chocolate Chip Cookies (homemade choc chip cookies with extra vanilla from what I can tell) and the S'mores Cookie Bars!  I probably shouldn't make both because then I will eat both but I have gone 25 days without sodas or sweets and I deserve it!

That is right!  Today is my last day of the challenge!! It has been tough, but I am proud to say I made it without any cheating!!  I ended up losing about 2 pounds which is ehh.  Not enough to motivate me to do it again, but I am glad those 2 pounds are gone.  Now I just have to avoid gaining them back.

My goal was to lose my last 6 pounds (yep still 6 pounds of baby weight left!) by the time Cooper is 6 months, but I don't see that happening without working out.  It is obvious that it isn't going to be easy : (  Darn it!!

This morning I put Cooper in his new sweatsuit!  I bought this at Belk for really cheap because I wanted a zip up jacket for Cooper.  I feel like he looks like he is going to hit the gym to workout or possibly be a white rapper. Eminem #2 anyone? I hope not!

This outfit and his moves this morning remind me of the song "Sexy And I Know It" by LMFAO and I couldn't decide which pictures to share and which ones wouldn't make the cute so I included them all : )

When I walk in the spot, this is what I see

Everybody stops, and they staring at me

I got a cute little smile and I ain't afraid to show it (edited to be appropriate)

I'm sexy and I know it.

I'm sexy and I know it

Check it out

wiggle, wiggle wiggle, wiggle wiggle, yeah

wiggle, wiggle wiggle, wiggle wiggle, yeah

I work out

I'm sexy and I know it!!

*okay so I edited it a little to make it fit my pictures, but I thought it was cute!!  I am a dork!

Tipping Valet, Doctor, Cuteness, and More

I need to run to the grocery store today to get some things for Thanksgiving. I went last Friday but I hadn't decided what dessert I wanted to make and therefore didn't get the ingredients and I forgot to get stuff for a salad. I am still trying to decide what to make. All 3 recipes are new recipes that I haven't tried before. It is either going to be S'mores Cookie Bars, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip, or Vanilla Rich Chocolate Chip Cookies.

This morning Cooper hungout with me in the bathroom while I did my makeup. He didn't want to be in the bumbo so I had to do it all with one hand. No one has said anything yet so hopefully it looks okay! : )

Cooper slept great last night. He woke up once at 10:30 and we think it was because of the thunder. The rain was so loud at our house! Luckily after Kyle gave him the paci he went right back to sleep. Of course Sunday night was my night and Cooper got up 3 times!! Oh well!

He woke up in such a sweet and smiley mood!
This sleeper is one I got for less than $3 at Belk a couple of weeks ago! I love it!
Love that smile!!
Yesterday I walked in to my doctor's office waiting room and it was completely empty!! I was shocked! When I was prego there were times I walked in and despite having enough seating for 20 people there were still people standing around.

Did I tell you that my doctor's office called last week and had to have me see a different doctor because my doctor just had a baby? Yep that's right! I didn't even know she was pregnant, but apparently she hides it very well and she delivered 4 weeks early!
I have a question for my readers. How much are you supposed to tip valet? And if you pay for valet are you still supposed to tip? My doctor's office has free valet because it is a women's hospital with lots of pregnant women. I always tip $1 or $2 depending on what I have, but just wondered what other people do.

I love this picture I caught this morning of Cooper! I couldn't put my mascara on with one hand and I was afraid if I tried he might jerk and I poke myself in the eye. So I put him on the bed for a minute. Unfortunately when I heard him fuss and went to check on him he had spit up a lot and it was all over his face. At least it was on Daddy's side of the bed : )

Fun Family-Filled Weekend!

Fun Family-Filled Weekend!

Friday evening we headed down to Ennis

We grabbed yummy Chicken Express on the way through town and just relaxed at my parents house.  Melisa, Trent and Mackenzie were also there to spend the night.

My mom had this adorable onesie made for Cooper!  I love the fabric choices!! And Cooper I think Cooper loved it too!

Saturday morning Kyle went hunting and my mom, Melisa, the kids, and I set out to do some shopping.

We met up with my Granny to pick out some fabric for a couple of projects.  Some are Christmas gifts for other family members and some are just cute things for the kiddos.  We also went out to lunch with Granny.

Then we picked up gifts for a baby shower and a bachelorette party/personal shower

Saturday night we went to a Tacky Christmas Sweater party/ coed wedding shower.

My Aunt Sherry had these cute holiday headbands for the kids to do a little skit.

Cooper was tired but he woke up just in time for his part (each kid held a piece of paper with a word on it)

Sunday morning we got up bright and early and went to church.  We read several books to Cooper this weekend and he seems to really be interested.  Love this picture of Coop with his Babi!

After Kyle got done with his morning hunt on Sunday we headed back to the Fort Worth area to spend time with his family.  Uncle T was in town and we couldn't wait to see him.

Grandpa made "greasy tacos" similar to Jack in the Box tacos for dinner and they were delicious.

One minute Cooper was in a great mood and the next he was fussy.  Not sure what it was, but probably just tired.

Here is Cooper hanging out with his Grandpa.

Sunday morning before we left Ennis I caught my parents just staring at Cooper and smiling.  Sure enough Sunday night I caught Kyle's parents doing the same thing.

We are so blessed to have such wonderful families.  Cooper doesn't realize just yet how lucky he is.  All of his grandparents just adore him and can't get enough of him.  They usually complain (or sound sad) if they don't seem him once a weekend and then they still say that isn't enough.

We are truly blessed!

I hope you all had a weekend as wonderful as ours!!

Friday Favorites

This little guy always tops my list of favorites!!  I tried to get pictures of him because my mom pointed out that yesterday's blog didn't have any pics of him.  I know that most of the people that read my blog are only reading it because of Cooper.

I love changing Cooper.  Sometimes he is wiggly and sometimes he cries (when we are cleaning out his nose), but usually he is in a great mood.  He smiles, talks, and plays.  I usually sing silly songs to him.  It is such a fun time with him.

Cooper was fussy some of yesterday evening because he didn't get a long nap at day-care.  But about 30 minutes before bedtime he was in the BEST mood.  We changed his clothes and he giggled out loud (sweetest sound in the world).  Then we played the "Up Game" on the floor and sang lots of silly songs.  Then he enjoyed playing with Mommy's face.  And best of all he just talked and talked to us.  It is so much fun just listening to him.  I love listening to him in the car on the way to day-care too!

I love this cute key chain featured on Groupdealz this week.  I thought it was super cute and on $13!  I didn't buy it but still thought it was cute enough to share!

I LOVE this car seat cover that was shown on Brooke's blog.  It looks simple to make so I think I am going to see if my Granny will make one for Cooper.  I currently use a blanket thrown over the whole thing but it is hard to hold on to the handle and the blanket starts to fall.  I know that baby stores sell car seat covers but I love this simple idea that is easy to take off and on!
I love this stroller that I saw on Erin's blog.  It is the Baby Jogger City Select.  It has so many options and can be used for one or two kiddos.  Seriously look at all of the ways you can use it.  The only problem is that it cost $500 plus you have to buy some of the additional pieces to do all of those configurations.  But seriously it looks amazing!

I love these cute slippers that Katie shared on her blog this week.  I wish they were real shoes because they adorable and look super comfy!!!

And finally I LOVE this sweet boy with all of my heart!  This is this morning before day-care!  He was in such a sweet mood.  And he was so smiley when I dropped him off.  I hate leaving him!!
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend!

Thursdays Thoughts

I think whomever (whoever?) said "stretch marks will fade" lied.  They are still there and I know "it has only been 4 months" but seriously?  I hate the way my stomach looks and I hate only fitting into 2 out of about 15 pairs of dress pants in my closet.  I don't want to buy new ones.  I want my old ones to fit!

I think health gyms should be cheaper or my company should reimburse so that I could join a gym and go on my lunch break.  I think it is likely that I would join and not go just like the last time I joined a gym, but I might actually go at lunch.

I think these shoes are very comfy despite that they make my feet smell HORRIBLE!!!  Kyle calls them my stinky shoes and I have them in brown snakeskin too : )

I think they have seen their last day!  When taking the picture of my shoes I realized that I broke through the fake leather!  Kyle is going to be thrilled!!

These $12 Target shoes have lasted more than 4 years so I think that is pretty darn good!

I think that if I hadn't climbed the stairs this morning to my desk on the 6th floor I wouldn't have busted my stinky shoes!! That is what I get for trying to be healthy.  I had actually come to the decision that every time I wear these shoes I have to walk the stairs since I don't have the excuse of wearing heels. I guess that means no more stair climbing : )

That shiny spot is the hole but the flash on my phone made it look weird!

I think that Kyle and I have decided against most of our Black Friday shopping.  We still want to look for Cooper's big gift if it is on sale.  Plus I came up with an idea for MacKenzie's gift and want to see if it is on sale.  Basically we aren't planning on buying anything for ourselves.  We just don't have the extra money to spend right now and we need to avoid the temptation.  Of course that could all change when we see all of those ads on Thanksgiving day!!!

I think the idea of Cooper attending a Teddy Bear Picnic is adorable and that is just what he did yesterday at school.  Basically they all sat around on a checkered picnic blanket with fake food and played and read books.  According to Miss Joyce, Cooper held on tight to his "pineapple" and chewed away.  All he cared about was the food.  Not sure where he gets that from : )  I wish I had pictures!!

I have actually considered sending a disposable camera to school with Cooper and letting them take pictures anytime they want.  Then they could give it back and I can develop it.  Then I have pictures of the fun things he does at day-care.  I just don't know if they have time or would want to do it and I am too embarrassed to ask!
